Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Cartago Province

We were traveling from Bahia Drake to Cahuita and needed a place to stay for the night in San Jose and this did the job. The room was only $26 with tax for the night. We had a private room with a double bed and shared the bathrooms, kitchen and common areas. We arrived around 7:30pm and the woman working the front desk was very helpful. She checked us in quickly, spoke wonderful english, showed us around and then offered to order pizza for us from a nearby shop, which was perfect because we were starving. We ordered their version of a supreme and it was only $8, came in about 20 minutes and she delivered it to our room. It was actually really great, especially for the price. The room was pretty standard with just a bed, chair, and small nightstand. This is a hostel even though you can get private rooms so if you're placed near the common area, don't expect an early nights sleep with the noise. It was exactly what we needed and we would definitely stay there again.

The host was very helpful and let me check in early. She spoke english well enough that communication was easy and she was very responsive to questions that I had. If you are going to the Basilica which is the main attraction in town the location could not be better. The Basilica is directly across the street and the breakfast area has a good view of it. I could not believe that they served breakfast as a part of this very low priced, very clean and comfortable room. I will book it when I come back! It is also only about a $60 dollar taxi ride to the airport on an uber so its ideal place to spend both the first night or two in country and when exiting.

The location was easy to locate, checkin was easy and fast. Ingrid and Lucy were extremely welcoming. The space was extremely clean, the showers included hot water (🤩) , the kitchen was completely stocked, and it was extremely fun to meet other travelers. We saw beautiful birds, someone else saw a sloth, and there was lots of forest to admire surrounding the property. Thank you Ingrid! ❤️

Diese Unterkunft war sehr besonders, vor allem wegen der netten Gastfreundschaft von Nano (Orlandos Vater). Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt und wirklich einen Freund dazu gewonnen. Die Unterkunft ist etwas einfacher und rustikaler, aber bietet alles was man braucht. Gemütliches Ambiente, tolle Aussicht. Nano bereitete uns für einen Aufpreis ein leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen zu. Wir waren vom Essen und den tollen Gesprächen begeistert. Absolut zu empfehlen.

J’ai adoré mon séjour chez Emilia. La chambre est très bien agencé et calme. Grâce à leur offre rafting, j’ai pu descendre le Rio Pacuare avec une équipe très sympathique et professionnel. Je reviendrai.

First Class! From the moment I made the reservation, I had quick communication and they helped me with several issues and provided many suggestions that were great solutions. The hotel is just lovely and filled with years of thought in the decoration. There is a small outdoor courtyard for private quite moments and another courtyard with big couches and chairs for group gatherings. The place is filled with plants and flowers. I rented the large room with lots of windows and it's doiuble doors opened to the outdoor courtyard. The furniture was very nice and provided ample space. the air conditioner worked great all the time I needed it. This is a great place for long rentals, the staff helps you with so many things involved with long stays.
