Niles and Will were such great hosts, very respectful of privacy and came to our aid immediately if we needed something and were very quick to respond. We were given some great information with much enthusiasm regarding things to do in the area and walks we could enjoy around the farm. We booked the Sunbird Cottage and it was perfect, very peaceful, wide open views; it had everything we needed. Drove there in my little Sedan and had no major issues with the dirt road. Was quite happy popping in and out to explore Graaff-Reinet, the Valley of Desolation & Nieu Bethesda. 10/10 would stay again. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended.

A beautiful space in Graaf-Reinet. Quiet, safe, and easy to find. The townhouse garden provides a tranquil space to host a braai or relax. There’s a garage that fits a large car but not a bakkie. The on-street parking is readily available and safe. The Townhouse is also within walking distance of some great restaurants.

We had a lovely stopover on way to Plett, great Braai facility, comfy beds. Nice to experience a night on a farm in the Karoo.

Remote and amazingly peaceful Gordonville is a very special place. We stayed in the cottage next to the big house which was perfect for the four of us. We hung out in the splendid pool house and went for a walk down to the river near Kliphuis. The cottage is stylish yet rustic in its decor and had everything we needed. We had been before many years ago and it was just as we remembered. We hope to be back for longer next time!

It's difficult to overstate how incredible this place is. The Rest Farm is an incredible oasis in the Karoo, and Shepherd's Cottage is a beautiful old farmhouse, comfortable, private, and peaceful with all the amenities - it would be easy to stay here a week or even a month. The sunsets, the walks, the birds, the river nearby. Paula and Ian's hospitality was second to none - their house is right nearby and they provided milk and bread from their farm, tea, and wonderful conversation. And a dip in the water reservoir behind their house. This place is an absolute treasure and we're hoping to come back as soon as we can.

To see the workings of a multi-generational family farm, stay in a 170 year old house with beautiful high-quality furniture and fittings, and engage with a kind and gentle-natured farmer and his wife…was wonderful. A gentle desert rain arrived as we got there and set the tone for one of the most restful holidays we have ever had. The farmer’s 2 dogs popped in every now and again and made themselves part of the family. Richard and Anika were accommodating and quick to sort out anything we asked for. The house was spotlessly clean and filled with history from the 1800s. There was a sense of warmth with the people living / working on the farm as well. The drive to Nieu Bethesda was around 15min going up a gorgeous gentle pass which presented something new every time we travelled. The highlight of the stay was walking up the hill behind the house and sitting on the bench overlooking the farm, valley, and mountains at sunset. Thank you Richard and Anika (our kids say hi).

Riverdene is a very special place. The accommodation was excellent. We enjoyed the walks and the braai area as well as the beautiful surrounds. Thanks Kelly & Dale!

There are many places listed as farm-stays, however Thea’s space is the real deal. We were spoilt with a home style “boere kos” wholesome meal, and after a late arrival with no previous arrangements. Thea and Grant are truly welcoming hosts and to be honest we arrived as complete strangers but were immediately welcomed with real South African farm hospitality and left feeling like we were childhood friends. Loved our stay and will most definitely be back.

My dog and I loved the place. We had a good rest from our long journey. Would love to come back and do a braai and enjoy the calm and beautiful area. Great value for money. Great stay.

It was such a pleasant surprise arriving at Thomas accommodation and having this beautiful old Karoo farmhouse in a secluded, quiet area all to myself! A bonus was the use of a fully equipped kitchen and the air-conditioner in the room was a life-saver in the summer heat. I have no hesitation in giving this BnB 5 stars! There were six double rooms in the house and I was thinking it would be lovely to stay there with a group of friends one day.

An absolutely magic guest farm experience. From the moment you are welcomed you feel part of the family at Ganora! An impressive list of activities awaits the guests. Listening to JP talk so passionately about fossils through to the volunteers sharing their experiences caring for the young lambs in the nursery makes for many special moments on the farm. The walks are first class and there is one for every fitness level, time and difficulty wise. Accommodation is first class, super clean, comfortable and tastefully presented. All in all a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city!!!

What an absolutely lovely place! Beautiful home with comfortable areas outside. The best surprise was Angeline's freshly baked bread in the dover. what a luxurious treat!

We really enjoyed our stay on the farm, was very peaceful and quiet. Our room was lovely and looked out onto the field. The staff was so accomodating and friendly and really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The food was delicious.

There were only 3 of us but the cottage caters for 6. The area is stunning, it had snowed and Hester kept me informed as to the state of the roads due to the snow. The cottage was cosy, had a wood fire and electric blankets so perfect.
