My boys and I had a wonderful stay at Barley Cottage. Stephen and Philip are amazing hosts, super friendly, very knowledgeable of the area and great conversation. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the shower was great. Water Newton is an idyllic little village just a stones throw from Peterborough, but a world away! We loved every minute of our time there.

Stephen is amazing, personable, responsive, ready with helpful actionable suggestions if you need them . The place itself is on a beautiful , riverside property, with beautifully maintained garden, swimming pool. It is 10 minutes drive from Peterborough and 25 minutes form Stomford, and has many trails and walks around that you can explore.

Lovely stay. Great location and easy to find. Very comfortable, clean and easy to relax here.

We had a wonderful stay at Caroline’s beautiful barn conversion. Everything was immaculate, lots of space, well equipped and furnished and so comfortable in every respect. Caroline was so welcoming and helpful and had provided so many very thoughtful extra touches, from all the ingredients for a delicious full breakfast with bacon and amazing fresh hen’s eggs, chocolate brownies, sweets to toiletries and so much more. Caroline really had anticipated all any guests could possibly need. The setting is so peaceful and just a short stroll to all the amenities of this lovely village and so easy to explore Cambridge from too. We were all very sad to leave at the end of our stay.

Had a fantastic weekend here celebrating for a hen weekend! The place was perfect to accommodate a large group, big enough for communal socialising but also enough private spaces. Cathy was fantastic at communicating and was happy to provide extras where needed. Brilliant location, stunning views and easy to get to Cambridge centre! Would definitely stay here again.

A very peaceful location. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Pop was extremely kind and helpful.

We were a party of three couples therefore we all had our own private bathroom, which was good. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and three lovely bathrooms. The view from the lounge, over the fields was peaceful and relaxing. There was more outside space than we had anticipated with several sets of furniture and a swing chair. Sally was very responsive when contacting her and we would recommend a visit to the Bull Pen

A lovely rural location very quiet, a nice outlook over the garden area behind. The interior is well designed and tastefully decorated. Everything you could reasonably want is provided. The hosts respond promptly and are very helpful

Jackie was a great host, very friendly and welcoming and even left flowers and wine for our arrival! The property was in a beautiful, quiet and secluded location next to the river Lark. The property was a perfect rural cosy hideaway! Abundance of wildlife, near the beautiful little city of Ely and Cambridge and close to the beautiful Wicken Fen . I highly recommend this stay and we look forward to returning x

A lovely place to stay in a very nice part of the world!

We had the most amazing stay in one of Edith’s garden rooms. Upon booking Edith was very responsive to any questions we had and gave us clear instructions on how to find the property, when we got there we were greeted by her and her husband and shown around the accommodation and how to use the hot tub. The garden room itself was spotless and had everything you needed for a long weekend away. The area is very secluded apart from the two other garden rooms which makes it a peaceful escape from reality! Edith is a spectacular host along with her husband and not forgetting the two super friendly dogs Charlie and Lola. Charlie is a great foot warmer when sat on the front patio in the mornings and Lola loves a game of fetch to keep you entertained. We will definitely be back, thank you so much for a lovely weekend! xx

Georgiana and Simon’s place was beautifully appointed, very comfortable and private. And the underfloor heating made it cozy and warm on the cold mornings and nights. Georgiana was very responsive and knowledgeable about the area, along with making recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. We highly recommend.

We recently spent the long Easter weekend at Tara’s barn conversion, and it was an absolute delight. The accommodation provided ample space for our three small families, ensuring everyone had a comfortable stay. The property was well-equipped with everything we needed, making our visit truly enjoyable. Tara was exceptionally responsive throughout the booking process, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. Overall, we highly recommend this lovely barn conversion for its warmth, space, and excellent host.

Upon arrival Sally was there to greet us and give us a quick tour which was really helpful. The house itself is gorgeous - so spacious, perfect for a large group, and you want for nothing. The kitchen in particular is such an amazing socialising space - perfect for hosting! The Christmas decorations throughout were amazing and really made us feel at home and in the holiday spirit! All bedrooms were comfy, warm and spacious. We really enjoyed the pool table and darts. Everyone loved it! Location was so peaceful - countryside for miles but only a 10 min drive from Sandy station. Sally was super responsive throughout if we ever had any questions. And the cherry on top was the cuddliest cat Batman! We couldn’t have wished for a nicer place to spend Christmas with the family. Thank you Sally!

Outstanding hosts. We were super happy to stay with them for a second time! The welcome basket was a really thoughtful gesture and the extra touches like robes and slippers were very helpful.

I had a comfortable stay and there were plenty of cooking facilities available to use. The property was a little tricky to find at first as the access is down a dirt/gravel track, and the parking was a bit tight for my Toyota Hilux but was also not a problem.

Where to begin? I celebrated my 50th birthday here with nine of my closest friends and family, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The cottage was absolutely incredible—beautifully maintained, spotless, and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a wonderful stay. The garden was stunning, the village charming, and the local community so warm and welcoming. It was an unforgettable experience."

Lovely peaceful private space for a family or couple. Great, huge outdoors space with wildlife to explore and cosy inside. Close drive to Cambridge, the zoo etc.

Your stay at Maggie's farm will likely be one of two experiences, either like visiting a well loved great Auntie you haven't seen in awhile but also enjoy your visits or simply a great stay at a fine BnB in a peaceful location in the Midlands. Unfortunately you can't "choose" which experience you will have as it seems to be predestined but either will be a joy if you've already clicked on the listing based on cover photo alone. Lend Maggie a hand and your efforts will be repaid twofold with interesting and thoughtful conversation and maybe some flapjacks. I already miss the place and look forward to returning in the future to give Tilly a scratch and catch up with "Auntie" Maggs. You'd be silly not to stay, just expect a strong honest old gal to meet you at the door.

A wonderful weekend away with the family for my Dad's 80th Birthday! The house was perfect - it was even better than the stunning photos! The surroundings/outside area was wonderful. The house had EVERYTHING we needed and more. The hosts could not have done anymore for us to ensure a fantastic stay, including the amazing tour of the turtles, horses and ponies which the kids are still talking about now! Perfect hosts and perfect venue - we will definitely go back!

Jasmine and David are generous and caring hosts with the most spectacular and immaculate home I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the first moment I arrived I was made to feel at home, the house is located in a picturesque village with good links to Cambridge. I really appreciated that I was able to cook meals here in the evening and have flexibility with check in. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Steve’s and Woody’s hosting was unforgettable in many respects. His place was really comfortable. Everything was well organised, making you feel calm and respected, with your needs well understood and perfectly met.
