Family-friendly vacation rentals in Caldwell County

Had a very nice getaway at the Maybell house! The property was private, peaceful and very clean. The house is not far from shops and restaurants. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic stay! Beautiful views from 2 expansive deck areas. Loved the layout of the house with bathrooms in each bedroom upstairs and quiet large bedroom downstairs. Perfect for our needs. The kitchen has all of the utensils, scratch free pots and pans, spices,etc. Will definitely book again the next time we are in the area.

This little cabin was in a gorgeous location! Right next to the snow tubing and not far from grandfather mountain! The views from the hot tub were amazing! Brought our two dogs and they loved it! The patio with the hot tub was fenced in so the dogs were able to hang with us while we were relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely would recommend and plan to come back!

Good place right on the New River. The valley is very quiet and secluded with only a few single family homes and vacation cabins scattered up and down the side slopes. Very casual and easy check-in. Kitchen and house very well equipped for lots of cooking and activities and entertainment. Hot tub was great. Very easy and ample space to roam for folks with pets. If you have a very low clearance vehicle like a corvette or something, check on bridge first, but 99% of vehicles will be fine even as crazy as it looks especially after Helene(notably, their bridge was one of the only small private bridges left after Helene that we saw). Want to come back in the summer one day for some tubing, perfect spot for it.

We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the front yard for all day sledding! The house was spacious - perfect for our four families! Most importantly, the hosts were super friendly and responsive to any questions we had! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river in the summer!!

Will was a great host and very responsive. His home was beautiful, had great amenities and most importantly clean and taken care of! Most will need 4x4 to get up and down the driveway especially it has snowed or is icy.

This was easily one of my most favorite vacations of all time. The tranquility and the peace that Nancy is beautiful property provided will be a memory that I will always cherish with my kids. Outside of the property, we were fortunate enough to take a pottery lesson with her and my daughter mentioned several times to me how this was one of her favorites experiences with me. In addition, they were kind enough to share an opportunity to hike down to their private land in the gorge gorge for a peaceful and fun Saturday afternoon. What an adventure it was and well worth it. overall, we will definitely be looking at coming back and absolutely be sharing this magical place with friends and family.

Heather’s place is a gem. It is beautiful and has a crazy amazing view! The house was super clean and had everything we needed. One extra thing to note: my wife uses a manual wheelchair and had no difficulty getting around the house. She is able to transfer into a tub, so that worked out well. Heather was also great about informing us of wheelchair accessible activities to do in the area, including a beautiful paved trail by a river. It was a wonderful weekend hanging out with family, and Heather’s place had a lot to do with it.

Booked this cabin for a peaceful weekend with a couple of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn’t too hard to find, although it is a bit out in the country which is exactly what we wanted. Definitely recommend a vehicle with 4-wheel drive in the winter months, but during our spring trip I was able to get up the driveway in my Honda Civic just fine. There is very limited cell service, but the internet provided by the cabin worked very efficiently. The cabin also wasn’t too far from downtown Blowing Rock (15 minutes), which had several restaurants and a grocery store for us to get what we needed. We also did a hike at Grandfather Mountain, which took about 30 minutes to get to. Absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking for a lowkey, relaxing weekend in the mountains. Thanks again to the hosts for the great experience!

Stayed at “out on a limb” for a work event in Boone. We were able to collaborate and enjoy the scenic views. This home was well appointed and beds were very comfortable. The xl dining table was a great meeting spot as was the main deck.

Beautiful log cabin and the views are spectacular! Plenty of firewood for an amazing bonfire. Highly recommend staying here.

This property is even more beautiful in person. The view is truly incredible and the house is nicely designed.

Great hide-away, felt like we were the only people on earth! Lisa was wonderful with questions and instructions, she had great recommendations and we had a wonderful time!

Absolutely wonderful Airbnb! 10/10 views, about 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. Only negative thing was it got hot at night since there is no AC, but that’s normal for most cabins. They did have plenty of fans to use though which I appreciated at 33 weeks pregnant! Large fenced in backyard for your pup, water/food bowls + some toys!

Great location and wonderful view of the mountains. Lisa was very easy to contact and helpful. The house was very clean and in a great location to enjoy downtown Blowing Rock.

perfect place to stay with the family for skiing at sugar mountain. it's basically right across the street.

What a great place! Also the host was very kind and great communication! Very nice place and only 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Wonderful amenities including pool, hot tub, sauna, library, shop, workout room etc etc. Only (potential) issue which is no fault of the owners is that this is a large 10 story condo complex. On busy days, especially around the weekend it can get very busy during check in and check out and you have to park outside of the guard shack and get shuttled back to the condo. Again, we didn’t really have much of a hang up but others did-just something to keep in mind. Fantastic place, and well equipped! Thank you again!

The house was just as advertised. It is a clean space with nice amenities and comfortable beds. It is right across from the entrance to the ski resort. We came during off season, but it was a perfect spot for our family to explore the area and enjoy the nearby restaurants and views.

Whitney & Jay were great hosts—responsive and helpful when we had questions. The space was just as shown/described in the listing. My family of four enjoyed our stay during spring break and our first time skiing during Sugar Mountain’s end-of-season March Madness. We made such wonderful memories here.
