Get a real taste for England’s history by staying in this converted Norman Church! This Grade II* listed building provides an excellent base for exploring Louth, the Lincolnshire Wolds and some classic British beaches. With it’s peaceful setting in a tiny village on the edge of Louth, the church also provides the perfect place to relax and unwind. We converted the church in 2014 and lived in it for 4 years until the arrival of our son, we love it and really hope you have a wonderful stay!

The bathroom features a vintage-style clawfoot bathtub with a decorative black throw draped over it. A modern sink and toilet are positioned against one wall. A wooden storage unit is present, and natural light filters in through a window.

Great Carlton is approximately a 15 min drive to the market town of Louth and within 20 mins of the coast. The area is rural with plenty of walks and cycle routes to enjoy. There is a local Co-op shop 2 miles away which is open until 10 pm. There is a village hall and a country church within Great Carlton but generally it is nice and quiet. The accommodation is set within a lovely cutting flower garden and above my flower workshop and I am very happy for you to enjoy the garden.

Stayed for 2 weeks work related oversight on my behalf no washing machine 🤦🤣 but exquisite peaceful picturesque little village and wonderful place . Lovely touches to the little cottage wooden beams with both old but new feel very homely. Wood burner in the front room for winter stays I would imagine very cosy 🔥 Great find 👍🏻

Leafy Retreat is a small haven of peace and beauty 2 mins from Louth center. Don’t be put off by the approach down the lane once you get inside the walled garden it’s beautiful. We were made very welcome by Margaret who was there to great us with a bottle of white wine. She was kind to our dogs and left treats for them too. The garden is secure so we were able to let our dogs roam freely and Margaret did not mind her dogs were there too. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot two things important to us. It is small but for two people and two dogs we had plenty of room. There is a lovely sunny outside area to use as well. Louth is a great town lots to see and do. We had good food at The White Swan and The Auction House. Archie’s was good for breakfast. We will stay here again.
