Charming log cabin right by the water for rent!

Log cabin with annex is rented out! The cabin is located at 700 mt.alt. in idyllic surroundings with a lot of sun and nice nature. There are also great hiking opportunities in the umiddebal vicinity! There are good fishing opportunities and nice ski terrain just outside the cabin. The cabin is located about 3 miles from Seljord city centre and about 3 miles from Rauland. There is a heater and firewood available for firing. There is also an outdoor shower. Bed linen and sheets must be brought, or purchased for 100kr per person.

Forget the worries, enjoy long lovely days in this lovely cottage by beautiful Tyrifjorden. Here you are vacationing both rural and central at the same time. Oslo 40 min away, the fjord on the plot, golf course 5 min away and not to mention Krokskogen with lovely ski slopes, hiking and biking trails! The cabin is newly rehabilitated and is a great custom to come back to after active days out. No water! Drinking water comes in cans (arranged by host), water for washing is collected in the fjord. There are sheep grazing in the fields and a very special flower meadow. There is a outside seating area with a simple bbq. New bathroom with shower and toilet in the barn. Sauna can be rented for additional cost. Ps. there is no running water in the cabin, this is available few meters away, in the barn.

THE VIEW & being right on the fjord. Our family enjoyed every minute in Thori’s cabane. The row boat, the terrace by the lake and the tiny cabane were fantastic. Kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need. Comfort of the beds could be improved. Car is mandatory to stay there. Thori and her husband were discreet hosts and always available if needed.

It was a great location to experience the tranquil countryside (especially in the snow! 🤩) Our children loved sledging etc and it felt like a home from home as well as being a 45min drive from Oslo. Lots of other places to explore from here too. The house is cosy and had everything we needed. The washing machine was very handy too! Thank you again for being such friendly hosts

We spent one night in the cabin. Good bus connection with a short hike. Incredibly beautiful area, perfect for hiking, close to the capital. Despite 10 degrees Celsius in the center of Oslo there was still snow and ice on the trails. Keep this in mind when traveling in early spring. The cabin is heated so there is no need to light a fire in the fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location near Vestfossen. If weather is ok you can really enjoy water sports. We were lucky and enjoyed a lot the place. The house is very nice with children as there were a lot of toys . The Billard makes evenings easy with the view of the lake. Everything is ok and host was very nice and kind . Easy instructions. We would strongly recommend to visit the house! Thanks!

A magical location, friendly & helpful host. We would recommend it for people who love nature, water, fishing, boating & hiking. As we came during the off season, it was very quiet & peaceful. We did some spring cleaning I guess, but Lene was very responsive & met us to help.

Awesome apartment with everything you need and so on. Fully equipped kitchen with cutlery and crockery, drawers full of spices (and organic sugar!). Coffee maker ready to use (i.e. didn't have to buy with coffee). Should you get bored, there are both Jon Fosse and Jo Nesbø in the bookshelf - in addition to useful tour books, games and much more. The apartment is carefully decorated, you feel well taken care of. Free use of the pool was great. Free parking and super nice location. We will be back! A tip for other guests is to shop before you get to Holmsbu, as there is only one shop there.
