Spectacular Shetland Waterside Location

JeanetteRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Perfect stay in this lovely part of Shetland. Orwick Lodge is wonderful in terms of comfort, facilities provided and stunning views. So much birdlife to see from the comfort of the sofa! Michael and Mandy are very caring and provide lots of information on the area. Lots of extras too, including the complimentary mussels, which were delicious.

Auld lifeboat station

Perfect location for exploring the Shetland Isles and mainland. We were lucky enough to be there when the RNLI had their 4th shout of 2025 and had the perfect spot to watch the launch.

Ingrid's self catering in the heart of Scalloway

MandyRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Lovely stay at Ingrid's when we visited family in Scalloway. A home from home with great views across the harbour to Burra. Very comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean. We appreciated all the extra touches such as Shetland soaps in the bathroom and biscuits, tea, coffee & milk in the kitchen. Ingrid had put the heating on ahead of our arrival too which was very thoughtful as we arrived late on a particularly cold night. Ingrid will go the extra mile to make your visit enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Oh we loved staying in Starview! Stunning views and location, which is private but not far from main Bigton amenities and St Ninian's beach. Amazingly well equipped, sparking clean POD and host who definitely went an extra mile for their guests! I wish we stayed a bit longer and definitely a place to come back to! Thank you Elsa for making our stay in Shetland extra special! đź’š

Traditional Cottage-Da Aald Hoose, Walls, Shetland

WilliamRating, 5 stars2 months ago
What a magical place! We arrived on a cold, rainy day to this adorable cosy cottage. Peter had already lit a fire for us and the house was nice and warm. We loved the little cottage, and we also enjoyed getting some of the lamb and sassermaet from the croft, which was very delicious! Having a warm peat fire after exploring the misty, windy island was perfect. We were just 2, but we thought the house would be perfect for families too. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the furnishings are all top-quality. Very convenient for star-gazing and aurora borealis hunting, plus not far from Lerwick and other points of interest.

3 Swinister

Emily is a wonderful host. We got lost finding the cottage and she came out in the dark to look for us. We were there for Wool Week and she invited us to her local knitting groups. It was great to meet local people and just sit and knit. We felt part of the community. The cottage is delightful. It's cosy and peaceful and just what we were hoping for. The weather turned cold during our stay, but the heating worked well and we were warm and toasty. The beds are very comfortable. I'd recommend this property for a peaceful away from it all break. It's fabulous.
The exterior of the listed building, dating back to 1825, showcases a traditional whitewashed facade. Large windows allow natural light to illuminate the interior. A small entryway leads to the main door, flanked by greenery and a pathway that offers access to the surrounding area.

Central Lerwick 2 bedroom Self-Catering

JamieRating, 5 stars7 months ago
I absolutely loved staying in this house. It was cosy yet spacious and very well equipped. The washing machine and airing rack were a useful bonus. The place was well heated. The bedding was tasteful and immaculately clean. There was an abundance of hot water for both bath and shower. The sofas are extremely comfortable places to rest. Absolutely gorgeous space! I wanted to stay forever... If there is availability I will definitely return.!
