Cumfrey Yurt at Fairy Bell Wood

KimberleyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It was mine and my partner’s first weekend away together and this place was absolutely amazing!! Such a lovely little yurt on a beautiful bit of land. The surrounding woods were a joy to explore and we honestly couldn’t be happier with our stay. Check-in was so easy and I really appreciated the privacy we were given our entire stay. The inside was so much better than the pictures, loved the flowers and note Emily left for us. It’s the little things that made us feel really welcome and we can’t thank them enough!! We were a bit on the fence about the shower and toilet situation but it ended up being better than we expected so if you’re debating whether it’s a dealbreaker, just go for it! It’s a place we’d love to return to one day and hopefully we’ll be able to! Thanks again to such wonderful hosts!!

A narrow cobblestone pathway is flanked by stone walls, leading to a door set within an aged stone structure. Sunlight filters through, creating shadows on the ground. A small window and a decorative lantern can be seen along the pathway, enhancing the rustic charm.

Blissful nest for 2, Dales National Park, Cumbria

Charlottes place is really unusual - both colourful and cosy at the same time. Lovely sofa, sumptuous bed, and space to stretch out - we found it really relaxing. The big bath is fab! We cooked a lot and found the kitchen well equipped. The view out onto the fells is expansive, and we enjoyed meeting red squirrels, seeing a hare most days and exploring local wild spaces. Would definitely stay again.

A serene lakeside scene is depicted, with calm waters reflecting the surrounding hills and a cloudy sky. A log rests on the pebble-strewn shore, while the gentle contours of distant hills create a peaceful backdrop.

Stunning views nr Lake District, spacious & snug

What an absolutely stunning location! We wanted a relaxing break and this is exactly what we got. Vicki and Tom have created something really special. The Hayloft is small yet had everything we needed for a family of 5. There were plenty of books and games to enjoy. Vicki greeted us at the door, making us feel welcome and had left us some homemade treats. The kids had a blast, exploring the grounds, playing on the trampoline and climbing the nearby hill to catch a glimpse of the fighter jets flying overhead. There was a lovely walk to the river and you can roam freely over the fields. We enjoyed watching the sheep and horses roam and also saw deer, rabbits, frogs and kestrels. The house has a view of the Settle-Carlisle railway so we enjoyed a bit of train spotting too. There was so much to soak up before we even thought about heading out. The nearby town of Kirkby Stephen had plenty of shops and we enjoyed a meal from The Mango Tree Indian. We would 100% recommend a stay here!

Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

BridgetRating, 5 stars6 days ago
A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

Amazing stay, our favourite Air BNB we’ve stayed in to date. Spacious house with everything you could possibly need plus the advantage of the steam room and sauna. Peaceful rural surroundings perfect to unwind in. We couldn’t have asked for a better house to spend the weekend in.

Clean apartment with good amenities in a quiet location, near to Kendal high street and train station. I was able to get around and explore the local area with ease on local transport. It was a pleasure stay here whilst I spent time walking in the Lake District.
