Farmstay vacation rentals in Brazos River

Had a fabulous weekend. Went for the Cattle Country music festival, great place to come home to - full moon! Super private and so comfortable

What a wonderful stay. We visited this home with another family, so we had 4 adults and 3 kids (all under 3 years old). The home was friendly for our littles, not too many breakables or unsafe items to worry about. We felt like there was plenty of space for all of us. The real highlight though was the scenery around the house. Pastures with flowers blooming full of goats, sheep, and a single donkey, pig, and turkey mixed in. Feeding the donkey was a favorite. They also had a chicken area with adult+baby chicks. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen, and it had everything we needed. We forgot to bring chicken bullion, and Nahida was kind enough to share some of hers. A couple notes that may be helpful for future visitors: Some of the doors stick a bit, and it was hard for our 3 year old to open them if they were closed all the way. The bathroom is only accessible through either of the bedrooms which was a bit tricky after we put the kids to bed having to sneak through.

very unique guest house that is beautifully decorated and all modern amenities. I love the mix of old and new -- it was so comfy! Reading the news articles of the dairy and other framed memorabilia -- it was like a time capsule and very interesting. This place has great history and was great to see it preserved so well. Highly recommend!

Everything went great! We even got to visit with the dog.

A fantastic and remote place to recharge! From the moment that Marguerite introduced me to her cabin I felt right at home. The front porch view of the pond was just what I needed to relax after a 4 day conference in Houston. When I return to Texas another stay at the Fossil Tree will be on my today list.

This Airbnb was hands down the most peaceful and grounding part of my Texas trip. Nestled in the Hill Country just outside of Austin, the stay offered everything I needed after dealing with the heavy traffic and chaos of cities like Dallas and San Antonio. The location is remote but not too far out — perfect balance of nature and access. It felt like I could finally breathe. The property is located at the end of a long, gated driveway surrounded by trees and rolling terrain, giving off major retreat vibes. The sense of privacy was unmatched. I stayed solo and it felt safe, quiet, and healing — a perfect environment for reflection and reset. Inside, the space was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully laid out. It had a real cabin-in-the-country feel, but with the modern essentials — a full kitchen, washer and dryer, strong Wi-Fi, and a clean queen-sized bed. I especially appreciated the large porch with chairs, where I spent mornings and evenings soaking up the sun and decompressing.

This was our 2nd stay, it was like walking in where you were expected. Gardan shared so much info about the history of the Guest house and future plans at the property. We will be back for a 3rd trip & more, so relaxing, comfortable. The porch is the best with rocking chairs. Coffee on the morning is perfect, country side view. Rocky & Hank are great assets to the property. Location is easy access to various locations of Hill Country. As I said we will be back :) Thank you, Will, Gardan & Cindy

I cannot say enough about Marty’s cottage. It was the perfect place for my Granny and I to stay during our visit to my cousins ranch for our annual Easter family get together. We have such a huge family, my cousin cannot accommodate everyone on the ranch (almost 150 people!) So Granny and I stayed a few miles up the road at Marty’s place. It was so nice being so close. I was able to go back and forth and escape the craziness if we got tired. Marty’s cottage is so peaceful, we had the best nights sleep ready for a full day of family shenanigans again each morning. I already told Marty Granny and I will stay again next year and I already told my family about her place for future visits and its close proximity to everything in Shiner/Yokum area. Shiner brewery is very close, the location can’t be beat. Marty and her husband were amazing hosts, thank you for the cookies and goats milk, we used all of it and enjoyed it in our coffee each morning. We felt so spoiled. We will be back soon!!

Susie and Doug are amazing, absolutely the sweetest people. The bunkhouse on the ranch was so relaxing and comfortable with so many animals to love on. Lovely place to recharge, enjoy nature, and to make great memories. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone.

This was our second stay and it was just as great as we remembered. Lots to do on property. Watching all of the animals on our patio was a plus. Very close to all Fredricksburg has to offer. Everyone is so friendly and working to make sure this property stays beautiful. Cozy home on a great piece of land. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.

This AirBNB is a PERFECT mix of country on the inside and outside! The back patio was a perfect place to sit, relax, enjoy sunsets and sunrises! We got the pleasure of a symphony of frogs after the heavy spring rain this past week- wow that was incredible! I’ve stayed in many ‘country’ rentals and it’s hard to keep the outside from getting inside (bugs, dirt, etc.) BUT this place did not have any of those problems! A couple reviews noted the stairs as a problem but we did not agree with that- you do have to climb stairs to get to the main area but the patio is completely enclosed and safe for pets and littles!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is a very quiet and peaceful location well outside the the crowds of downtown Fredericksburg, but a an easy jaunt into town for the restaurants and shopping. The animals added a nice rustic touch to the stay, especially the kitty. The hot tub was nice touch after a day of cycling in the hill country. Will definitely stay again next year for my annual trip.

It was the perfect getaway from the city. We loved the property and all of the animals. We fell in love with Potato and Basil.

Jillyn’s house was even more beautiful in person than the pictures. It was very well equipped and our group had the best time. Hope to stay at this place again in the near future to enjoy everything this place has to offer. Jillyn was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Thank you.

We booked this for a family reunion we attend in the area every two years and we filled the houses with three generations of cousins, siblings and spouses. We had a great time and the setup of the houses and rooms were perfect for us. We have already said we plan to book in 2027 for the next reunion. Thanks for the hospitality and beautiful place!

The Hunter's Cabin is VERY unique. There are horses, turkeys and curly haired pigs roaming the property. There is also a pond with large catfish. The cabin was well built and furnished appropriately to match the name. This was my favorite of all the places I have stayed in over 15 years of traveling to Kerrville. It was like going back in time for me as I spent a large portion if my life living in Mississippi and working in and around animals. Sitting on the elevated back porch in the morning or evening was the perfect beginning and ending to my day!!

We had a fantastic experience staying at this Airbnb in Springtown! The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made the entire stay very comfortable. The peacefulness of the area was an added bonus — it’s a perfect spot to unwind and relax. The host was also very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and cozy getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Fun and unique place to stay. Kitchen was well stocked, and bathroom was nice. Hosts were great and enjoyed the animals!

Lydia place was perfect for our short stay. Had all the amenities a d necessity that a family of 4 need . My girls enjoyed the surrounding, putting the goats, chicken and dog. Lydia was an excellent host

Such a peaceful space with the friendliest cows EVER! :) Beautiful setting - and such a great step-away from the big city... with only sounds of mother nature. I spent a peaceful afternoon on the patio and cherished visits from beautiful cardinals, hummingbirds, and countless other beauties. The cabin is pristine, not a bug in sight, which is hard to pull off in the country, the strong scent of mothballs may be keeping them at bay. I enjoyed this place so much and was not ready to leave.

Loved the space. Loved stopping to pet Milo the dog every day on my way in. We had everything we needed here and it was comfortable and clean.

We could not have asked for a better getaway for our family! Amy is a thoughtful and responsive host, and we loved the farmhouse. The space is both cozy and spacious, as well as very comfortable, and perfect for us to slow down and enjoy being out in the country. We had fun exploring around Rusk and then relaxing at the farmhouse. We would love to come back again in the future!

Cute farm house. The beds were very comfortable and it had all the cooking utensils, pots and pans needed for making breakfast. We fed the horses and our dogs enjoyed running around and exploring the grounds. Stephen was very responsive and came by to say hi to us as we arrived from running an errand. Cute, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again if its available when I return to the area
