Dog Friendly - Stargazer Cabin at Farmside Village
Excellent and quiet retreat, about 20 minute's drive from Asheville. communication with the hosts was great and they were very responsive. The cabin is absolutely spotless and everything seemed new. would definitely recommend.

Quaint Mountain Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint cabin. It was cozy, quiet, easy to find, and had fun entertainment options nearby.

Secluded Cabin ON Creek-Lake James/Linville Gorge
There really aren't words for how incredibly beautiful the surroundings are! The space is lovely as well but the view and the access to the natural world is the real selling point. If you're a lover of nature, this is a place you absolutely need to book! My only other recommendation is that you make sure to arrive during the day--even with the host's thorough instructions, it was very hard to find the right cabin at night.

Right on River , Rainbow Trout , Hot Tub ,Wildlife
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The location by the river is perfect. The attention to detail here at cabin is remarkable. It had everything we needed and more. Kim was an amazing host. We hope to come back in the future.

Creekbend Cabin
Had a great weekend in a magical spot.

Cozy Creek Front Tiny Cabin
The only thing I regret was not taking more PTO so that my husband and I could stay at this cabin longer. This place was exactly what we needed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Modern Cabin with Hot Tub | Views | Creek
"Modern cabin" is a modest description ... I would call this a mountain retreat! There were four of us (two couples), but the home would have easily accommodated eight. The design of the house was well thought out and roomy, and the decor was stylish and tasteful. It did not seem like a rental. The kitchen was fully equipped. Thick towels and a bubbly hot tub awaited our arrival, and the Saturday morning scones & hot chocolate were a delightful treat! Perfect spot for a remote get-away, but still just 20 minutes from downtown Ashville and many other attractions. We could not have been happier with this "cabin"!

WagonTrail Cabin
Really great cabin that is well kept. The views are amazing. It’s unfortunate the town was so badly damaged but with continued support I hope to see the quaint restaurants and stores restored soon.

Front Porch Charm
Place was great and met all of our needs for our stay! The yard was great for our pets as well! Location is ideal, convenient to a lot of different areas of Asheville.

New Belgium Lower Level Duplex, Heard of the RAD
My husband and daughter had a great time during their stay in Asheville and at your home. Great location..

High speed internet! Creek and fire pit!
The creek was amazing! Great for rock hunting and peaceful sounds. The fire pit area was awesome too! The waterfall got covered up by some tree damaged but we managed squeezing back to get a good sight!

Tranquil country home NW of Asheville w/ Hot Tub
We stayed here to attend a wedding in the area. The host was very communicative, the house was very nice, clean and comfortable. Would stay here in the future if we are ever in the area again.

Hot Tub & Country Home in the Middle of the Trees
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful mountain house in Rutherfordton! The views were stunning, the rooms were cozy and well-designed, and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a long day. The hosts were incredibly responsive and kind, making everything smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Country Setting. City Convenience. Hot Tub.
Great place to stay! Beautiful view across the street. Had everything we needed with coffee and stores 5 mins down the road!

Red Bridge Cottage-downtown Hot Springs on creek
I can’t say ENOUGH! This stay in Hot Springs, our first post Helene, was more than any of us hoped for. It was so healing to see this vibrant community smiling and joyfully sharing their town with visitors who love them all so much. This house is absolutely perfect. Plenty of space including a lovely family room with a huge couch we could all snuggle up on and chat or watch a show. The beds are cozy, the linens are soft, the kitchen is well equipped, the hot water is plentiful, the front yard is so beautiful with lots in bloom, the back yard is lush with a magnificent fire pit and seating by the creek, the brewery is 30 feet away, the pizza place is a 2 minute walk, the breakfast dinner is a 6 minute walk, the tubs at the Hot Springs resort are better than ever (and a two minute drive-we should have walked🤣)……this place is absolutely perfect! Also of note, our hosts were very easy and quick to communicate with. I never write reviews, but HAD to with this gem 🥰

Creekside Fairytale Cottage-Hot Tub-Cozy Fireplace
The space is perfect. The house is charming, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time in Hot Springs and wish all the best for this lovely community. Thank you for being so accommodating and helpful for every part of our visit.

Experience 5 Star Stay, 24 acre Farm
Insanely amazing stay!! So peaceful and calm to be surrounded by such beautiful nature and animals all around you. Waking up to the cows was an amazing sight and great way to start the day. The hosts themselves were so friendly and helpful with all the recommendations, this place is worth it 110% I can’t wait to come back!

Cottage at Glen Galla
Glen Galla is a lovely place to stay. So country and peaceful, with wildlife everywhere, yet only minutes from the city of Hendersonville. The host, Gail, is friendly and helpful and attentive to every need. If you like some peace and serenity and maybe read books, this is the place for you. This place is highly recommended, and I would give it more stars if I could. Definitely will stay there again if we are down that way.

Cottage on the Square
My little family really enjoyed our stay! I love that they kept a lot of the original things that made the cottage what it was. From the doors to the lights to the handles and built ins. It’s very charming! My son lived the court yard while me and my fiancé lived the clawfoot tub!

Secluded Marshall Cottage: Hot Tub + Mountain View
We loved staying at this cottage. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed the wildlife and the stars are incredible! I caught 5 medium to large fish in the pond. It was a great experience. Will for sure come back during the summer or fall when the leaves on the trees are back.

Stone Cottage
This was a second visit to Ryan’s place. We were very happy with our first day and the second one definitely matched. It is in a great location and very quiet and peaceful. Ryan has done some nice upgrades in terms of the HVAC system house was quite comfortable, even with some cold nights.

Creekside Cottage - Little Switzerland
Karen's place is fabulous. Perfect, actually. Immaculate, peaceful, lovely. Perfect

Your guide to Black Mountain
Welcome to Black Mountain
An artsy little mountain town just 15 miles east of Asheville, Black Mountain’s original claim to fame was its experimental arts school that opened in 1933. Although Black Mountain College has since closed, the town remains alluring to art lovers and crafts enthusiasts, with plenty of galleries, shops, and annual events displaying Southern Appalachian works.
The historic downtown is quaint, walkable, and studded with rocking chairs, which has resulted in Black Mountain being nicknamed Western North Carolina’s “front porch.” Tasty restaurants, independent bookstores, breweries, and music venues abound, as do nearby hiking and biking trails that are accessible and appealing to outdoorsy folks throughout the year. At an elevation of 2,405 feet, Black Mountain also offers fresh mountain air and a scenic, rugged backdrop, and this combined with the thriving arts community has regularly placed the town atop lists of America’s best small mountain towns.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Black Mountain
There is no bad time to visit Black Mountain, as the mountain air is always crisp and there’s generally something of interest going on. From late spring to early fall, rocking chairs decorated by local artists pop up all over town, and they’re usually sold off by October. In July and October, there’s the biannual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands, while August sees the long-standing Mountain Dance and Folk Festival. September and October are lovely for fall foliage, which is best viewed out on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and February is famous for the Black Mountain Marathon, which brings runners up to the peak of Mountain Mitchell. Summertime concerts take place at White Horse Black Mountain, including bluegrass, jazz, classical, and Celtic music.
Top things to do in Black Mountain
Cherry Street
Black Mountain’s best shopping happens on this adorable street lined with gift stores, antique shops, and arts and crafts outlets. The biggest draw is Town Hardware & General Store, which carries more than 35,000 items including tools, paint, garden supplies, and housewares.
Hiking
Those who enjoy wandering in nature will adore this area replete with mountain pathways. Favorite outdoor jaunts include the 86 miles of trails at DuPont State Forest Waterfalls, the scenic Catawba Falls in Pisgah National Forest, Mount Mitchell State Park (which contains the highest point east of the Mississippi), and both hiking and climbing at Chimney Rock State Park. You can also take a hike around the nearby Lake Tomahawk Park, where fishing is possible (note that you’ll need a valid North Carolina fishing license).
Blue Ridge Parkway
Dubbed “America’s favorite drive,” the Blue Ridge Parkway snakes through 469 miles of Southern Appalachia, and a particularly lovely stretch of it is located within a pine cone’s toss of Black Mountain. If possible, time your drive to see the brightly colored fall foliage.
