"The House On The Hill"-Private Setting, Hot Tub

Wonderful house with truly comfortable furniture. I actually photographed some of the furniture and manufacturer's tags to get those chairs and sofa for home. Mattress (king) also excellent. I stayed 5 days for work, and didn't want to leave. Super convenient for hiking on Neversink, too. It is not completely private since you may see hikers going by, and as an older female staying alone, I was aware of that. But there are plenty of shades including blackout and I got used to it. The view, before leaves come out, is awesome, the Mt. Penn neighborhood and Pagoda lit up at night, and the Howard Street Bridge, love it. Time to read the Updike "Rabbit" books again. One tip, make sure the upper shower knob is pointed down, or you will get a cold overhead blast from the other shower head. Otherwise all appliances and amenities are terrific! Thank you Denise for your quick and friendly communication and nice greeting card. Would stay again.

The house was clean and accommodated our group very well. The children enjoyed playing the in playground backyard. One minor thing to note is that the house is along a major road, so you can hear the trucks passing by in the dining area and meeting room space but was not as noticeable in the bedrooms. Overall, a great experience and stay.

The house was lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub a great deal. House was clean and furnished with everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots pans and appliances. The backyard was fully furnished with a grill and seating and it was great sitting out there. Great house and really enjoyed our stay!

We were looking for a quiet location for the night while we attended the Men of Velvet and Steel Conference close by. This location and house fit those needs very well. Everything was nicely decorated and very clean. This would be a real nice house for a romantic getaway. The Pa turnpike is very close, but does not interfere with quietness overnight. We all slept very good!

We’ve stayed here before and the hosts are always welcoming and accommodating. They always provide more than what we need or expect to need. On this trip the weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter .. there’s always something to do nearby and it’s a nice quiet location where we can do nothing at all. You won’t need to take any extra items for this stay .. they have EVERYTHING you can think of !!

This place was sooo fun for my kids! The animal care taker Erin was amazing!!! She really made the trip special for my kids. Would not have been the same experience with out her. She took so much time with us and was so wonderful with the animals and letting our kids be around them.

This was exactly what we were looking for! We checked in on Easter, and even with it being a holiday John hopped on a FaceTime call with us and walked us through everything and opened it up for any questions we had. The gated property made it extremely private! The hot tub was great for the cool nights. We spent the whole time outside enjoying the views- we really enjoyed our time here!

Our stay at Whitetail Cottage exceeded our expectations! The cottage was cozy, clean, and stocked with everything we needed . It was like a breath of fresh air when we walked in the front door. Very welcoming and decorated nicely. The beds were very comfortable , and we appreciated the night lights in every room . The view from the front porch of the house is a large green field that we enjoyed watching several deer graze and a momma fox playing with her cubs. Kyle was fantastic ! He was always available to answer our questions and highly responsive to messages . Highly recommend !!

I didn't want to leave! In all of the years we have rented around the world this is our favorite B&B! Linda and Kit were the most gracious hosts and so incredibly welcoming! From the moment we stepped in the door and were greeted by there adorably sweet fur babies we felt like we were at home. This incredible home nestled in the woods comes with all of the amenities that one could ask for, and then some, but most importantly comfortable beds! Our homemade farm fresh breakfasts from Linda and the engaging conversations with the two of them really topped off our trip! We absolutely cannot wait to go back and visit our new friends again! Thank you both for a very memorable stay!

My husband and I had an amazing time at the Amethyst Inn! Kimberly was super helpful and always ready to assist us. The location is perfect for exploring Lancaster and the surrounding areas, and there are tons of antique shops nearby. The house itself is super clean and cozy. We stayed in the topaz room, and it was huge with a big bathroom and a Jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was incredible! Every day, we had a different breakfast, and our host was always on time, serving breakfast at 9 am sharp. We’d definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend it to anyone reading these reviews.

It was easy to check in and the location was very unique: you got the privacy of a more secluded location but were a walk away from grocery stores, gas, and food. The hosts were very kind and made our stay fantastic.

There is only one thing to say: book it... NOW! You are going to thank me later. This place is so much better than the description and pictures you are seeing, probably because there is no way to describe it. Traveling with our two small kids (6 and 2 yrs) for Spring Break, so much to explore and to visit. I will recommend it to everyone. We definetly are going to come back again. John and Naomi are very responsive for any question you might have.

Beautiful house and yard! The house was very clean, the instructions were clear and easy, arrival was also very easy. We didn't have to interact with Carley since everything was perfectly fine the whole weekend but she left good food recommandations. A lot of kids accommodations and toys also if you travel with family! My family loved it and we would definitely book again if we come back in the neighborhood!

A++ David’s cabin was beautiful and looked even better than the pictures. It is very close to a lot of great places. My wife and I stayed here after a weekend visit to Philadelphia to unwind. It was a great change of pace after a city trip. We didn’t take time to explore the local amenities as we were really only there to wind down, however, on our way out of the area we found there would be plenty to go back for. Overall, the place was exactly what we were hoping for and we would definitely come back.
