Vacation rentals with a kayak in Benzie County

Our family and small dog came up for a long weekend to enjoy the slush run cup at Crystal Mountain. Bryce’s place was clean and comfortable from the start. We had an issue with something when we first arrived, but Bryce was responsive, helpful, and proactive. Traveling with kids and pets can be such a challenge, and it’s helpful to have a host who is sympathetic to that stress. Once we got that resolved, we settled into cooking in the nice kitchen and enjoying the back deck and hot tub (favorite part!). Even though the main road out front is busy, the backyard is peaceful and comfortable. Loved the first warm ups of spring there! Beds were super comfortable and we slept great( we have a sleep number at home so we’re picky!). A separate water cooler for drinking water was awesome! The tv in the living room was so fancy and the couches were clean, newer, and very comfortable for our whole family to watch movies. Check out was a breeze, no long list of chores! Thanks so much!

We enjoyed every single bit of time while staying here. The house is exactly infront of the crystal lake and from every corner of the house you can enjoy the lake. The sunset view was stunning from the house. The host made this house with all possible way of enjoying the place starting from bonfire, grilling, hot-tub, kayaking etc. I would definitely recommend this place!

Jamie was a great host! The place was set up so cute. A little smaller than the pics look, but still good. The doors and cabinets dont close all the way, but probably an older house, we could deal🙂 the outside wasnt setup like pics outside, but we moved the things no problem. It was winter, so couldn't get mad. We enjoyed some time at the bonfire. The hot tub was real nice! Jamie was always so fast to respond and help when needed. Great stay!

Part of me wants to give this home a negative review so that no one else discovers it! Perfect home. Perfect location. It was absolutely dreamy to be kayaking one moment and at the brewery listening to live music with an ice cream cone in hand 10 minutes later. The home had everything - well-stocked kitchen, toys for kiddos, comfy beds, kayaks, and beach toys. Could not have asked for more.

The house was amazing. Clean house and nice peaceful area. Great for getting away and relaxing. My fiancé and I had a nice time.

We had a great time at Harry's. The home was decorated well. Mattress and coziness made for a great night's sleep. Appliances all worked well. Location was good.

Our 4 person vacation group had a great 3 night stay at Shirley's beautiful lakefront home. The view was spectacular and the house was clean, neat, comfortable and perfect. Shirley and ray greeted us at check-in, walked the property and house with us, and Ray gave us area history, recommendations and a map showing the best local beaches, restaurants, hikes and wineries. This house is highly recommend.

Great place on beautiful Upper Herring Lake. Good for kids and dogs and close to hiking trails and town (Frankfort). We would definitely consider renting again.

This is our third year staying at this location. We feel right at home. This year we did lots of hiking at all the Reserves and spent lots of time at all the area beaches! We also kayaked across the lake to Lake Michigan. It was private and beautiful. It is always hard to leave when our vacation ends. Pam is really great at communicating.

This place was just like it was described! The lake is beautiful and the wall of windows made it even better! At night, the stars were AMAZING to look at! The house is just a 10 min drive into town and a few minutes drive to the Old Indian Heritage Trail, which end at the dunes on Lake Michigan. Overall, great place!

Our family of 6 adults, 3 children and an infant had ample room and a wonderful stay at Nortons. Our 3 grandchildren under the age of 7 enjoyed playing in the sand, fishing from the dock and playing in the shallow clear water. My adult children enjoyed using the 4 Kayaks and 2 paddle boats, there is a row boat but we never used it. Everyone enjoyed the board games in the evening. location was close to amenities, looking forward to visiting again in the future.

This was very beautiful home and the location of the house has amazing view. Rhonda was awesome getting back to us about any questions. She knew everything about the property. The house is very cozy and has everything you need for your stay. Highly recommend it.

Very spacious and comfortable place to stay. Wonderful location in Honor -- so convenient to Platte Lake, Platte River kayaking, Platte Beach, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Kodiak Cabin is nearest the road, so a bit of road noise, but the spacious cabin was well worth it.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how super clean and well organized everything was. The fireplace adds the perfect touch. The host was friendly and provided great explanations for the furnace, fireplace and even the check out process. Beyond the cabin, the surrounding area is fantastic! Whether you’re hitting the slopes at Crystal Mountain or enjoying the little swing in the backyard, there’s plenty to explore. Thank you for the great short vacation. We will come back !!!

This place is amazing! Most of the windows and porch have views of the lake. It was so peaceful, calming, and quiet. We saw trumpeter swans and other birds, amazing stars, and beautiful sunrises/sunsets from the dock. It is very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and other trails/sites. It was a bit off season and during the weekdays so not sure how private it would be during the summer - but we had the place to ourselves :-). The cabin is compact but cozy. The 2 bedrooms have full sized beds - great for 2 single people or a couple with maybe 1 kid. I can't imagine 2 couples staying there though due to thin walls and not a lot of storage.

Loved this cabin on a quiet lake, close to Lake Michigan. Would definitely come again!
