If you have an opportunity to stay at Barrisway Retreat, do not hesitate to book it. It is a true gem. We stayed here for two nights at the end of a two-week vacation in Newfoundland. It was the most perfect way to end a busy travel itinerary. (I wish we'd booked three nights!) The house is the perfect size for two people. The bed is very comfortable. The decor is modern but inviting. The place is impeccably clean. Kim left so many little thoughtful treats and surprises, from chocolates to word search books, which really made our stay extra special. However, the outdoor spaces at this place are what truly MADE the visit for us. The sauna, the hot tub, the outdoor sitting area, the hammock, the seats down by the brook, the outdoor games, the fire pit... Wow! (By the way, I cannot imagine staying here and not paying the extra for the sauna. If you are on the fence, do it. It's stunning.) What a wonderful place! We'll be back for sure! This was the first and last stop of our trip, and it was so nice to return to a welcoming, familiar place. The host is very sweet, and we had everything we needed. Quiet, comfortable, and perfectly located near trails and the city. It was the ideal way to start and end our Newfoundland adventure.

We had such a wonderful stay at Laura’s! Very clean and comfortable, and such a peaceful place to be! The kitchen has everything you could need and the internet is fast and stable. Close to two beautiful hikes on the East Coast Trail, and a short drive to many more! The hiking book in the library was such a great resource. And, it’s only 20 minutes to St John’s for groceries. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location!

I have frequently used this location for my overnights in the region and it never disappoints. very quiet location comfortable bed and more. highly recommend
