Brockenhurst Bungalow Nuwara Eliya

PrabhakarRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We had an incredibly relaxed and satisfying stay at Rajiv’s place. It’s hard to believe this charming bungalow is 144 years old, thanks to Rajiv’s meticulous upkeep while preserving its colonial charm in every corner. Ideally located in Nuwara Eliya, it’s a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind. The hospitality was exceptional—caretakers Lasantha, Pradeep, and the team went above and beyond, from welcoming us with tea to preparing amazing dinners. They even let me join in and cook, which I thoroughly enjoyed! A special thanks to Rajiv for personally staying an extra hour to greet us and give us a tour of the property before leaving. Highly recommend this beautiful place for an unforgettable getaway!
A two-story building is shown, featuring large glass windows that provide a view of the surroundings. The entrance is visible on the lower level, with steps leading up to the upper level. A couple of colorful textiles are placed on the steps, adding a touch of color.

Village house 01

JonasRating, 5 stars77 months ago
Staying with Ajith and his family was a pleasure. We had a wonderful time staying with them. I would recommend to try the meals of them. His mother made us every morning homemade coconut rotti (so good) and we tried also her curry what was probably one of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. It is not in Ella Town but he offers a lift free of charge so it is not a problem and you can avoid tourist crowds.

The Seven Oaks

SampatRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our stay at this bungalow was nothing short of amazing! The property is spacious, well-maintained, and offers breathtaking views, making it the perfect escape from the city. The presence of friendly dogs added a warm and homely touch to the experience. Sanjoy, the caretaker, was extremely helpful and ensured we had a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the bathtub, which made for a relaxing retreat after a long day. Given the amenities, space, and hospitality, this place is an absolute steal for the price. Highly recommended for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay

Such a special and memorable place. I will remember the sounds of the jungle at night most of all! We did the river excursions, floating breakfast and elephant safari all of which were amazing. Delicious food too!

Neverbeen to Wije's Home (Enhanced Clean)

BabsRating, 5 stars92 months ago
Big and delicious breakfast! The room was clean and with a beautiful view of the mountains. The owner suggested us places to visit and organized a tuk tuk to the tea factory, little Adams Peak and to the waterfall. The only thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi connection inside the rooms.
A colonial-style bungalow is framed by lush greenery, with large windows reflecting the natural surroundings. A red-tiled roof adds character, while vibrant flowers in the foreground bring color to the scene, enhancing the tranquil setting against a misty mountain backdrop.

Hotel Serandib Hill

DeepraRating, 5 stars94 months ago
I had a great stay at Serendib. The host was super responsive and accommodating. Tea service was amazing. The room was simple but clean. This place is a little outside Ella but easily reachable by tuktuk or car. It is also close to Haputale. The host was able to help me get to the hotel and around the area. Overall a good experience.
A group of individuals is seen standing on a grassy hillside, surrounded by open skies and distant mountains. Some individuals are engaged with their phones, while others observe the scenery. Tall grass sways in the gentle breeze, enhancing the natural setting.

Belpeak Cottage, Belihuloya

DiliniRating, 5 stars70 months ago
This is a beautiful Villa that can accomodate around 6-7 people. I would say I had the most amazing stay there. The place is clean and tidy. It had all the amenities required. The care-taker Dias did a wonderful job in cooking and catering to our needs from time to time. Jayantha, the owner of the property was beyond helpful to make our whole trip a beautiful one.
The bungalow is constructed of natural stone with a green roof, surrounded by lush greenery. Garden areas are visible in front, featuring well-maintained grass and decorative plants. Large windows provide natural light to the interior, enhancing the bungalow's charming exterior.

sithara estate bungalow

SarathRating, 5 stars65 months ago
We had a great time at the Sitara bungalow. Beautiful place up in the hills in a tea estate, bit away from the busy Ella. Place is very spacious and nicely decorated. This is a better alternative to staying in Ella. The staff Ghandi and Nalini took good care of us. Gandhi's polsombola was amazing. We really enjoyed the meals they prepared for us. Leon the German Shepherd was a pleasure to have arround. We highly recommend this place.

Banyan Camp- Wine Lodge

ConorRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a fantastic stay at Banyan Camp. Came highly recommended by friends who had stayed recently and it managed to exceed our expectations. One of the most peaceful and relaxing places I've ever visited. The whole camp is really well curated, we loved all the local antiques the owner has collected. All the traditional food was great, super healthy and was really fun to have the reasons why the various dishes are eaten together explained! We had a great time with the other guests around the dinner table too! Our dinner on the first night was floating on a raft in the lake under the stars which was a magical experience. Only regret is we didn't stay longer!
A two-story house is presented with a welcoming facade, featuring multiple windows and doors. A thatched-roof structure is nearby, with well-maintained greenery surrounding the property. The inviting porch area includes seating, providing a comfortable space to relax and enjoy the garden.

Wild Resort Ella - Chalet One with pool

PiaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The accommodation is in the middle of nature, about a 25-minute walk from Ellas main road, but with the Tuktuk you are in the middle of the action (500 LKR) in 5 minutes. We were very warmly welcomed and also did the cooking class in the accommodation, as well as a tour of Ella's main sights - I can recommend both and you can also get recommendations and tips on site. You are very private in the chalets and have beautiful views, so you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. You have to get used to the sounds of nature first - but this is really a luxury problem :-) The breakfast was sufficient and is made with a lot of love. You can also buy things in the supermarket if something is missing :-) We can recommend it!

Aqua Dunhinda Villa

AnnaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, somewhat remote, villa with amazing surroundings. We walked down to the river, did yoga on the patio and had Ayurvedic treatments next door. The owner is a charming person with a beautiful vision for the place. He was very friendly and took time out to show us around the garden and let us try fresh herbs and spices. I would recommend to have a car so that you can get to Kandy and visit all beautiful and inspiring sights the area has to offer.
A rustic dining area is set under a thatched roof, surrounded by greenery. Four wicker chairs are gathered around a dark table, with plants placed decoratively on the nearby ground. Natural light filters through the vegetation, creating a serene ambiance.

VV -Full Villa

FionaRating, 5 stars76 months ago
A true retreat, nestled in the mountains. think stunning views, tranquility, wild peacocks and monkeys, but not a handy location to sight see from. Map was misleading and Haputhale is an hour away. Rooms are simple with delightful antiques. Staff are very courteous but have very limited English. Food was simple and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Make sure you book meals in advance. They kindly arranged a delicious birthday cake for us. Beautiful gardens with architectural features everywhere, lovely views, good swimming pool but lacking any comfortable seating. A truly unique place to get away from modern life.
A circular pool is positioned at the forefront, reflecting the surrounding landscape. Lush green hills rise in the background, with trees framing the view. A multi-level building is visible to the right, blending naturally with the hillside.

The Hideaway - 7 Bedrooms Bungalow

ChrisRating, 5 stars78 months ago
Located about 20 minute drive from Ella, The Hideaway is a beautiful and remote spot, and was in fact better than I had expected from the AirBnB profile and pictures. The views are the major selling point, with fantastic views throughout the location. Staff very helpful in organising trips into Ella and able to offer on site spa treatment which was excellent. Bedrooms were more comfortable than I had expected, bathrooms were quite basic but not enough to trouble me. Onsite food was very good, but we preferred to travel into Ella for evening meals. Whether you want to just hideaway for a few days, or use this as a more remote spot to access Ella - it is great.
An infinity plunge pool seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape, offering spectacular views of distant mountains and valleys. The modern glass wall structure reflects the tranquil sky, enhancing the connection between the indoor space and the breathtaking outdoors.

Romance in the Valley - Breakfast

BartRating, 5 stars87 months ago
Outstanding place, surreal views and service to match! The pictures don't do it justice but trust me, you won't be disappointed! Perfect angle for sunset over the infinity pool or even dining in room. Be careful on the road in, very rocky. Loved our stay here and already planning our next trip back! Gamini deserves a gold medal, couldn't ask for a better host!
The modern villa features large glass windows that provide expansive views of the surrounding landscape. An outdoor swimming pool is visible in the foreground, complemented by a deck area with outdoor seating. The architecture highlights a blend of sleek lines and natural elements.
