Vacation rentals with a pool in Ballena Bay

Me and husband stayed at Axels beautiful place for our honeymoon for 11 days. It was even more beautiful than the photos if you can believe it. Waking up to the view of the infinite pool and jungle, the sounds of the animals, just breathtaking. Anytime we needed anything (which wasn’t often) axel responded immediately. Luis was also incredible! We decided not to rent a vehicle and cab everywhere and he hooked us up with the most punctual, friendly driver who came to get us atleast once a day. I recommend trying Luis sisters fresh fish (10/10) We were lucky enough to see monkeys, parrots, lizards, and coaties all from the pool. We did a few tours like horse back riding, went out for dinner most nights, but ultimately during the day we were at the house enjoying the sun! We will definitely be back in the future to enjoy anniversaries. Thank you Axel for have an exceptional place that truly felt like an oasis!

This house is lovely and the view is gorgeous. We spent much of our time on the porch enjoying the pool, hot tub and view. I highly recommend some time relaxing at the house. Fabian was very helpful in planning excursions. The beds were so comfortable and there was plenty of hot water! We also were grateful for enough seating for everyone in our party both outside and in the living room. We did have a 1 year old with us and that was challenging in the layout of the house but we made it work. Highly recommend this house and this area. So much to do! Do the daytime Mangrove tour and guided MA park tour. Pura Vida!

Chris is the Man! For context, my girlfriend and I had another bnb in the area that lost power and water for 2 days! I had to book an emergency stay and Chris accommodated and responded swiftly even though it was very short notice. We fell more in love with his property than our original one lol. 10/10 stay loved the vibezz.

I stayed here on a week trip to see Costa Rica but also wanted a peaceful place to stay and this place was 100% worth it! Our host was great and always open to questions. The property is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. It’s tucked away in the forest and we were so glad we stayed there because we got to see monkeys right by the pool side during our stay!

Finca Totoro is jaw dropping!! The pictures show everything but once you pull in, your eyes will pop and youll find yourself saying “oh my god!” Its stunning. Gorgeous layout, gorgeous views, private pool, private jacuzzi, hiking trails, absolutely amazing. I cannot say it enough, this place is a perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, music, your loved one, its super special. The pictures on airbnb do not do Finca Totoro justice. Its remarkable.

Wow loss of words for this stay . Super Memorable and just overall Amazing. Amazing place. Amazing location, amazing host. Checked all the boxes. The house is stacked with everything you need, even with the new things you didn’t know you need . . Felt super safe . It was definitely an experience to arrive . But if I can say this without over exaggerating… it’s super worth it . Don’t be overwhelmed. The hard work the host has put into this place should NOT go unnoticed.

Karen was so helpful and we had wonderful local support from Sophie and Vanessa who look after the house and their guests very well. It’s beautiful and furnished to the highest spec with every gadget and utensil and towels you could imagine needing. Great sized mugs and beautiful ones too. Sophie and Vanessa are based very locally with advice on tours and a great little coffee shop. Sophie booked our tours for us and Vanessa cooked some wonderful breakfasts and also give great info on great local fish restaurants and Costa Rica as a whole which helped greatly with the rest of our trip after our 10 days at the wonderful ‘House of Light’. Thanks Karen and Guy on your local tips; the night kayaking in the bioluminescence, swimming in Cameron bay with the birds swooping down around us to catch fish and a couple of days relaxing on Playa Vivos with their fabulous restaurant and cocktails. The howler monkeys the highlight in the trees at dawn and dusk in the trees surrounding us. Beautiful

We stayed here for a part of our honeymoon and we loved it. Both hosts were very responsive and helped us with booking our surfing class, they also sent us a bunch of restaurants and activity recommendations upon arrival. The view is stunning and we had our own private pool. Walking up and down the mountain is steep but great exercise. The rain shower is also amazing with a view of the beach. Would definitely recommend this place and we would love to come back. Pura Vida 💛

This condo was exceptionally clean with a beautiful view. It was a very brief walk to the Main Street. Everything was literally five minute walk. They are picky with who they host (with good reason) because of how pristine it is. Thank you :)

The accommodation was beautiful, in peaceful surroundings. A short walk to the beach, restaurants and cafés. We enjoyed our stay so much!

the property is secluded although not “remote”. It’s easy-ish to find if you follow the owner’s directions. The space is clean and large and a short drive to pretty much everything in Uvita. You can also walk to the Ballena national park in less than 10 minutes (just FYI, the whale’s tale takes about 1/2 hour from the park entrance though). The bed is firm - this is a preference thing and has nothing to do with how much we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is basic and has everything you would need to cook meals.

What a find! We loved the views, the modern vibe of the building and unit, and its location. What a great few days. We will definitely be back!

Great host. Very quick to respond. Clean condo with beautiful views of San Jose city. It’s a must. Jorge is a great guy. Beautiful place.

Spyridon was super helpful, friendly and responsive! We had an issue with our apartment that was solved immediately. The place is beautiful, common areas like the pool are really well maintained and the property is stunning. We loved the fact that we had daily housekeeping service included, they did an amazing job and there is nothing like coming back after a long day to a spotless home when you're on vacation! I also noticed that they keep security 24/7 in the property and that made us feel super safe. We felt super taken care of and would definitely come back! :) On a side note, I will advise that you rent a 4x4, the roads in Santa Teresa are really bad and the dirt road leading up to the Airbnb was super steep, muddy and bumpy - a normal car would struggle. On a positive note this place is super close to the main road and the main beaches and tons of restaurants and a supermarket, so you can walk everywhere whilst staying there.
