We had a wonderful two week stay with Sue & Rob. The house is large and the view is absolutely stunning- looking out to the mountains. The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities that you might need. The pool was perfect and the children LOVED it! The village itself is very pretty and the local restaurants and village cafe are great. Sue and Rob are incredibly friendly, kind and knowledgeable hosts who made us feel so welcome. Thank you so so much, we’ll hope to come again sometime.

The stay at Mrs. Odete was very enjoyable. Mr. Antonio and Marta, were always available for everything! Help on the arrival of Mr. António and the extra containers/pots for cooking were of great attention and availability. Couldn't have been better received by Mr. Antonio, Marta and Mrs. Odete. The accommodation is in downstairs knights, a friendly village surrounded by nature, isolated from the hustle and bustle. The river we quickly have access to through the accommodation is beautiful. They have clean water, ideal for swimming and canoeing (available free of charge by the accommodation). There is a “waterfall” outside and there is always a “waterfall” running. Allowing a perfect environment to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. It's a beautiful place, perfect for resting and isolated from the hustle and bustle. I will certainly return! A special thank you to Mr. António e à Marta, for all your availability and attention!

Quick, uncomplicated, and friendly communication. Check-in was super flexible. The only drawback: Pictures suggest that the property is located right on the beach. Here, a picture of the actual environment would be more appropriate. Otherwise, everything is fine!

Maria José is the host that we all want to have. He was concerned to guide us to the house, described it reliably and still left us a welcome gift. The house is very beautiful and is right in front of the river. From all the windows we have a beautiful view. In addition, it is very well equipped and we have all that is needed for a good stay. Near the river beach, the shale villages and nearby beautiful landscapes and leisure structures and the hospitality of our hostess made our weekend wonderful. Thank you for everything!

The house is very comfortable, matching your description. It is part of a very beautiful mountain area with several trails. The Casal Novo village, where the house is located, is extremely calm, without commercial activity, unlike other shale villages. I note the possibility of bringing the pet.

Fantastic stay at a beautiful house in a beautiful part of the world. The house was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The property was perfect for the kids with pool, playground and tennis court and is safe as part of a private gated development.

Very nice stay, between the stars and nature. The farm's loose animals confirm the expectation of freedom that we always have for the holidays and the comfort of the house reminds us of what is essential and what is accessory in life. The site is as described on the website. A very quiet and quite beautiful area. The hosts are really a 10. You can ask them for recommendations or any questions, and they have no problem responding. Very kind. Highly recommended

Myself and my fiancée were looking for a spot in the mountains where we could do a work and hiking retreat, yet not too expensive. This house perfectly delivered what we had in mind! It's not the most luxurious mountain house, but that is also well reflected in the price. And it's certainly a very comfortable house. It's spacious, everywhere in the house we looked is beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked of amenities and the woodpile for the fireplace was well stocked. Soraia was a remarkable host, possibly the most concerned, friendly and helpful I've encountered from the many similar trips I've done in the past. She replied very quickly to any message, giving a lot of thought and attention to every reply. She arranged for a taxi to take us from Lousã to Casal Novo, gave recommendations and even the contact of restaurants, and when we asked for extra amenities (a corkscrew, extra pillows...), they appeared quickly. I'd love to return, one week wasn't enough in this incredible place.

Cozy space and calm environment. The apartment has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Giant garden for our little dog to play in, we will surely come back.

The house met all expectations, it was quite clean and tidy. There were several kitchen products that I was not expecting, such as coffee maker, food spices, cleaning products, which became very useful during the stay. Localiza is located in a quiet area, but with a supermarket, restaurants and cafes at the foot.

For those looking for a quiet spot to relax from the stress of the city, Casa do Carvalhal is the best choice! I loved my stay and Mr. Sérgio was always willing to help! I highly recommend and intend to return soon!

Dorinda was a great host and has a lovely large family home. She was very responsive from the start and always willing to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately we had to check-out early as the constant bad wet weather up north made us crave more sunshine. Like most old homes in Portugal, the house is cold and has some mold issues. That said, we are grateful for Dorinda’s hospitality and think her house would especially suit larger groups during the summer months when you can enjoy the many outdoor spaces.

Hosts Stephanie and Lucas were very friendly and welcomed us warmly. The place is quiet, clean, with good internet, close to the city center and with space for pets (we took a dog and two cats without any problem)... right at the door of the house there are several hiking trails and excellent restaurants in the city center (just 5 minutes by car). Ideal place to relax and for those with pets. The accommodation has a wood-burning stove (firewood provided by the hosts) and electric heating, making the space cozy even on the coldest days. A big thank you to the hosts for making this space available.
