What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

Stunning property, location was great for the wedding we attended in Poulton, it would also serve as a great base for exploring the local area. The house was exceptionally clean and Jill was very proactive and flexible with the sleeping arrangements for the 8 adults in our family party. It was very homely with everything you would possibly need. Jill even ran out with her personal sewing kit when we had a wardrobe emergency which saved the day. The bedrooms were lovely and spacious and the bedding luxurious. The bathrooms were spotless, We would highly recommend a stay here, it did not disappoint in the slightest. Worth every penny!!

We have just returned from a few nights away staying at this little piece of paradise. If you’re after a tranquil, relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. From the house itself, to the spectacular views , the amazing pool house and the lovely, friendly neighbours, this place ticks all the boxes and more. Highly recommend visiting The Queens Arms for a meal (or just a cheeky drink), the staff are so friendly and just made our time away extra special. Malham is only a 20 min (ish) drive away and is stunning (a must see). The only thing I would advise is to make sure you take plenty of supplies (or do an online shop for delivery as we did) as the local shop is a 20min drive away. Thankyou again David, we will definitely be back.

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

Wonderfully peaceful location. Holly Toft is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We paticularly appreciated how much care was given to ensuring the hot tub was spotlessly clean and freshly filled for our arrival. Kathryn is a superb host who clearly cares a lot about her guests. The field full of adorable lambs to look out on was a delightful bonus! Highly recommend! Thank you Kathryn.

Wonderful 5-night stay at Chestnut Cottage after Rob completed the Great Glen Way & West Highland Way in 6 days! @freemanwalking on YouTube 😀 The hot tub was a real treat for soothing sore muscles. Stunning bay views made the cottage the perfect place to relax. The bed was super comfy, and we loved the little extra touches like the soft robes and complimentary tea, coffee, and milk. Just a short, scenic walk along the promenade to the village for supplies. The weather wasn’t the best, but the cosy cottage more than made up for it. Highly recommend! Thank you Gemma

A real gem of a cottage with fantastic views. Host was very proactive, helpful and friendly. Local town had good amenities. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Would love to return.

Lovely well equipped cottage, had everything we needed. Great location with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Perfect for anyone who likes a bit of walking! Jonathan was very helpful and responsive, we had a great week. Would definitely go back!

We had a wonderful stay at Silver Howe, the cottage was perfect for exploring the Lakes. It was a real home from home with a handy local shop and pub. The private fenced garden was great as we had our dog with us, it also kept out the local sheep! Would recommend Rebecca’s place for a visit, it was clean, has great amenities and lots of character and charm. The lovely walk along the river to Elterwater is recommended, as is a stop at the Britannia Inn, the food was very good. Overall a great stay, thank you.

We had a great stay at Hilltop, it's a lovely cottage. I was able to have breakfast outside every day of my stay which was a real luxury for me. We did some great hikes too venturing to the Borrowdale valley with its stunning views and even went down to the beach one day. Good communication with Natasha as well, would definitely reccomend.

Such an easy place to stay in the South Lakes. Beautiful countryside just minutes away, very quick access to routes through the whole Lake District. Comfy beds, lovely hot shower, plenty of living space. Ample for two couples or a family with slightly older children. We loved our stay. Thank you!

Perfect stay at Claire’s place. Can’t fault it at all. Beautiful stream out the back to watch go by on the patio and the George and Dragon pub in the village was a very friendly place with excellent food. Absolutely loved the place and the area, will definitely be back that’s for sure. Last but not least a mention to Claire for checking everything was ok and letting us know any problems just let her know, which thankfully nothing to was as a great stay had by all four of us.

Alison is a delightful lady. So kind and helpful. Her cottage ( we stayed in Jemima Puddleduck) was very comfortable. Beds and pullows especially and all spotlessly clean. All we needed was provided Alison had thought of everything. We had a fantastic week. Thank you.

Just like previous reviews, I have only positive things to say about Anthony and this property. The photos don’t do the house and location justice. The house had everything we needed, was clean, tidy and comfortable. The location is so peaceful and neighbours all very friendly. The local shop is a 5 minute walk as is the local pub (with another pub about a 15 minute walk away through the village). My wife and 2 kids absolutely loved this place and it made for what was a very relaxing weekend. I will definitely be returning here! Anthony was also very proactive in emailing out instructions & directions and also very quick to respond to messages which was very reassuring. I would 100% recommend this place!

this cottage is perfect for a little family retreat, my daughter loved seeing bits of the farm and some animals roaming around, me and my wife loved how secluded it was peaceful and quiet. comfortable interior thought all rooms and great host, lots of local attractions for all ages highly recommended

We loved our time at the cottage, a lovely clean, comfortable, homely and inviting space with all the mod cons too. Loved the peaceful surroundings, the gorgeous scenery and walks and its proximity to wonderful sights, convenient shopping and delicious options for eating out. We’re going to miss sharing a drink with the cows and watching the horses in the far fields. Heaven! Try David’s recommendations, none disappointed, but do the walk from Skelwith Bridge before indulging in the treats at Chester’s. The Mason’s arms was also a lovely lunch spot with beautiful views. Would love to return!

Fantastic little spot! Sarah and Stew were incredibly friendly and easy to communicate with. They made us feel very welcome, and the highlight of our stay was the trip into Cartmel to enjoy the bagpipes and New Year’s toast – such a memorable experience! This stay was well worth it, and we’re already looking forward to returning soon.

Fabulous place for a stay in the Lake District close to all the Lakes but extremely peaceful and tranquil. Hosts were great, friendly and close by. Property was excellent, clean and comfy and very well equipped for a family to cook and relax. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at Crook a Beck Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. It is well equipped, with a great kitchen, plenty of wardrobe space and a large walk in shower alongside a large bath. It is in a peaceful setting with beautiful views and has all levels of walks available straight from the property. We enjoyed the extras especially the lemon drizzle cake made by Judith. We will definitely books this property again on our next visit to Patterdale.

My husband, daughter, puppy & I have just stayed here for a long weekend. Nick the host was very helpful & Informative. The cottage was perfect for us, spacious, warm & comfortable. All the additional supplies like toilet rolls etc were an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the local amenities. There are plenty of walks and scenery to visit in the area, shame the weather let us down a bit but we made the most of it anyway. We visited the local pub The Malt Shovel and well worth going, the food was delicious and home cooked, lovely family community.

Absolutely stunning cottage & you couldn't ask for a more wonderful host. Felt like a real home from home. Perfect location, spotless, presented so beautifully. We will definitely return.

The most beautiful cottage in a fantastic village. The house was incredibly well equipped and very warm and welcoming. Very helpful guide with lots of great suggestions. It is also right next door to the Heft, which is a superb pub & restaurant. We all loved it and had a fantastic weekend. I highly recommend it and hope to return one day. Thanks
