Waterfront vacation rentals in Årdal

Everything about the house was great. The only small inconvenience we experienced was with the driveway—it’s quite steep and leads directly to the owner’s garage at the top. Because of that, we had to re-park our car at the bottom of the driveway after dropping off our luggage. Not a big issue, but something to be aware of if you're arriving by car.

This is a perfect location to have as a base as you travel through the Fjords. We had a car making it easy to get around. Nearest town is 10 mins and kitchen had everything you needed to make light meals. Sigrid was kind and we enjoyed our stay.

WOW WOW WOW. I can't even believe we got to stay here. What a privilege! It looks even better than the pictures. The view is unbeatable. Marit was kind and warm, available but not overbearing. I mentioned we were doing the sauna in Aurland (recommend!! Aurland, not Flåm!) and she left towels out for us. messaged to ask how the trip was going and if we needed a shoe dryer. This Airbnb is everything an Airbnb should be and more, Marit is everything an Airbnb host should be and more! Thank you, Marit, for a fantastic stay. Tusen takk!!!

Our stay at Victoria's apartment was wonderful. It's clean, well-maintained, and offers a terrific view of the Sognfjord. Victoria herself is a very good host, one of the best in my experience with AirBnB. She's conscientious, communicative and friendly.

Really enjoyed our stay in Aurland at Basecamp 3. It was super close to Flåm. Being right on top of the grocery store was. Huge plus. We timed our stay at the midpoint of our week in Norway, so being able to get our laundry done was a huge win! As good as advertised. Would stay again!

Turid was such a great host! She was timely in her responses to any questions, and she offered ideas when needed. The apartment was clean, spacious and the perfect place for our family of 5.

Peder’s guesthouse is cozy and peaceful. The views of the fjord are amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and there were detailed instructions for how to use everything. It makes amazing use of such a small space! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to stay along our road trip.

This is a wonderful apartment with stunning views of the mountains and fjord. The location is excellent, right in town, close to amenities, yet very quiet. Kai was promptly responsive when we had a few questions and gave clear instructions. This was definitely one of our favorite places in the world to stay!

Amazing location and super friendly, proactive hosts! The house is decorated with respect for the traditional style. We were welcomed with fresh flowers in every room, fresh apple juice and fruit jam, all produced from around the house.

Birger’s place was exactly what we expected, clean and very easily approachable. The place Undredal itself is calm, quiet and away from the touristy Flam. Easily drive-able from both Flam and Gudvangen. Birger’s family lives next door and everyone was very friendly. All the amenities one would expect, were available. Loads of cutlery, all kinds of cooking utensils, bathroom amenities, washing machine soap, etc. We had a great time and we would love to come back again.

Amazing, peaceful spot 15 minutes from Flam but away from the tourist groups. Stunning location right on the fjord with a huge deck to enjoy the views. Walking distance to a great restaurant Undredal Brygge & the town’s stavekirk. The house was clean & spacious, ideal for us with our 2 year old. We would definitely stay there again!

Lovely place to stay, well-equipped kitchen and very comfortable accommodation. The views are incredible and Bjørn and Sara were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The only thing to be aware of is that access to the accommodation is up a very steep grassy slope with no real path or steps. If you have any kind of mobility issues this would not be a suitable place to stay. But if you can handle being a mountain goat for a short distance, this place is worth the effort!

A lovely location. Great place to explore the fjords. We went up to the glacier and did a glacier walk. Also rented bikes out of skjolden and bikes the romantic road south along the fjords. Coming back every afternoon to this delightful home was heavenly.

I am convinced this is the best cabin in all of the fjords! The location simply cannot be beat and the cabin was so thoughtfully built and furnished. I traveled here with my husband and two children (6 & 8) and it was the perfect size. Everything you need for cooking in the kitchen. We opted to use the boat one day and are so glad we did. It allowed us to see the fjords in a unique and personal way. Amazing memories getting up close with nature. There isn’t a single thing I would change about this place. We met the owner and his son who were very courteous. The owner gave us the recommendation to drive the snow road which we did - it had only recently opened. We were so grateful for the recommendation. Book it, you won’t regret it.

Hans and Emily's house is a real gem! Everything has been thought of, there is everything you need and more. The rooms are beautiful and the house has a special charm. A travel cot and high chair were provided for our daughter, there are games for children and adults - so even in bad weather there is no room for boredom. Charging the electric car also worked perfectly (for a more than fair fee). The communication with Hans during the stay was very friendly and helpful. All in all, a really great place to stay with so many options that we hope to try out on our next visit (canoeing, BBQ, swimming etc). Many thanks to Emily and Hans and all the best!

This was my favourite airbnb stay ever. I am so glad we decided to stay in Aurland over Flam - we enjoyed the slower pace over the bustling cruise ships of Flam. Transport to Flam was very easy even though we did not have a car. There were many options through the public transport bus (Vy), the tourist shuttle and the ferry (Norled), especially in the summer. The house was clean, cosy, perfectly situated and with the most amazing views. It was also very warm which was a plus! Ann Iren was so hospitable and we truly felt at home. The kitchen was well equipped for us to have a few home cooked meals. We went to the local bakery everyday for breakfast. We stayed for four nights and there was lots to do in the area, our favourites being the Brekkefossen hike and the Fjord Safari. Quite a few of the attractions have options to leave directly from Aurland as well. I cannot recommend this airbnb more, it had everything we needed. Thank you Ann Iren for a wonderful stay.

We had a good stay at the spacious apartment. Have a good shower The friendly and helpful hosts live above the apartment. As a result, you will occasionally hear living sounds.

We had some difficulty getting into the place because we didn't have the code on arrival. The accommodation was clean and well-equipped, especially suitable for two people. The noise from the main road is noticeable inside, but not likely to disturb sleep, after a busy day…

We really enjoyed Armando's place. In particular, the great view of the fjord, which you also had in the morning from the bedroom, impressed us very much. It is very quiet and ideally accessible by car. We also found the separate TV room very comfortable in the evening. Thank you for everything.

Thanks to Nicolina for a super cozy and personally decorated holiday home. Huge panoramic windows overlooking the valley and mountains. The whole family had some lovely and pleasant days in the beautiful winter weather just a short drive from Hemsedal ski center. Would love to come back.

Lovely little apartment. Cost was very helpful and great at communicating.

Very nice apartment overlooking the Sognefjord. My husband and I only spent one night at Trond's, which was very relaxing after several hours of driving. Access is autonomous, which is very convenient (just be sure to follow Trond's recommendations regarding the street to enter on your GPS). Calm and familial neighborhood. We didn't want for anything and the place is comfortable (large sofa, TV, good bedding). The toilet is separated from the bathroom, which is a plus. Thanks again Trond for hosting us!
