Cottage vacation rentals in Applecross

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

We had an amazing couple of days in this awesome Airbnb. Michelle gave us a warm welcome, when we arrived. The house is a perfect place to explore the Isle of Skye and relax in the hut tub in the evening and enjoy the sea view. We would have wished to stay longer and will definitely be back. One hundred percent recommended.

We loved our stay in the waterfall cottage! It was a perfect place for our newlywed destination to kick off our honeymoon. The view is stunning and we loved drinking our morning coffee in the back porch taking it all in. The inside is very cozy and we cooked many meals in the kitchen which was well appointed. There are other lodgings directly adjacent to the property but fortunately were all vacant otherwise it would have been less private than expected. This is listed as a detached cottage, but a wall is directly shared with a cottage next door technically making this a duplex. A bit misleading but all good since it was vacant for our stay. Nina was responsive to all our questions which we appreciated. We loved Loch Tay, the Crannog Center, and Aberfeldy nearby. While there are no direct signs to get to the lochside, there are paths down to the loch through the gate or nearby boathouse lodge entrance from the road to walk down to see the water.

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

Wow!! What a beautiful spot! Betty’s lookout was perfectly outfitted for our party of three and we enjoyed both the cabin, the hot tub, the wood burning stove and the views!!! We were so lucky to get the pleasure of the incredible food, service and ambience of Monkstadt 1745 for dinner while there. Making our bucket list trip to Scotland and Isle of Skye so very special. Thank you for an incredible experience.

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Words cannot do justice to this amazing property; it has to be experienced to be believed. Terrific view of the bay just steps out the back door, yet near the center of town. Extremely quiet. Spacious. Comfortable. Fantastic master bath and bedroom, with two tubs, two sinks, and a wonderful shower. An office for work or reading. Powder room and storage room. Good washer and dryer. A good kitchen and dining area. Comfortable sitting room with a telescope for viewing the bay and its ptarmigan inhabitants. Great tv and internet. Separate sauna building with a view of the bay. Amenities galore, including boots for walking on the beach, And the most thoughtful attention to details that you'll ever encounter. Also, the hosts are extremely generous. It's simply lovable.

great stay at obbe view! gorgeous views and an easy to find location with plenty of space and kitchen amenities. if you are staying in the summer, recommend an eye mask to block out the long hours of sunlight! enjoyed the skylights in the bedrooms for natural lighting. thanks for a great stay.

We liked the Angels share very much and we felt very comfortable immediately. Thank you, we will be happy to come back.

The place was very quite and peaceful. The house was well maintained with all kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is private car parking enough for at least 2-3 cars. There is one queen bed in ground floor and 2 single beds on the another upper stairs bedroom. We loved it and highly recommended for those who need peacetime.

Tigh Darach is a beautiful home in a glorious location. A stunning wood-frame construction built with a wonderful eye for design, light and space. Everything was good quality, eco and in the best possible taste. Not only aesthetic but also extremely comfortable! A lovely family home that they are happy to share with us via Airbnb. we have been to plockton 3 times and Catherine's property has the most stunning view although a bit of a walk to the main village it is worth it just for the view. we just parked at the railway station when taking our greyhound as he hs arthritis and walked down from there. lambs at the bottom of the garden and a deer in the next field grazing and to top it off one of the local cows who roam free took a liking to greyhounds and joined us on our walk near the cottage. just a beautiful spot and plockton never disappoints us. we will be back. gorgeous weather. even got out in our canoe. 😀

Beautiful location minutes from Neist Point with amazing views across the street! Stephanie was such an amazing and welcoming host who greeted us when we arrived and made sure to check in on us throughout our stay. The cottage was exactly as pictured, and we loved all the animals Stephanie kept around. We would love to stay again!

We had a fabulous stay at Merman Cottage. Alastair and Helen were absolutely lovely hosts - present, friendly and helpful without being overly so and their suggestions of places to go and things to do were spot on. We were at full capacity with four adults and a toddler but the cottage is well laid out and spacious enough that we felt cosy but not cramped. Everything that we needed was supplied: comfortable beds, fluffy towels, nice quality toiletries, pantry basics, fire lighters/kindling/wood, etc. Also made a lot of use of the grab and go binder of walking routes. Interesting books on local history, the renovation of the cottage and so on. The location is very central so it’s only 20 minutes to Portree and about 40 minutes to Quiraing or Glenbrittle. Would highly recommend.

The storehouse was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It is located in a beautiful area and there were sweet sheep we could watch right outside on the back patio or from the windows every morning. They even had a small lamb that was being bottle fed and Emma allowed my youngest daughter to feed it after we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked and there were instructions and phone numbers for the local places to eat or grocery options near by. The home was very well cared for and immaculately clean. We had a wonderful time.

A stunning location for this cottage. It was peaceful and has incredible views over the waters to the mountains. It was wonderful to see the tide come and go, we felt close to nature. The cottage was clean and well stocked with kitchen equipment. There are games and books and enough for wood for your first night there. Underfloor heating was lovely and the fire heated the house really well to the point I needed to open the door to cool down - which is great to know you won’t be cold when you’re up there at the end of Autumn! Having a bath while looking out in the views to the mountains felt like a luxury.

Elizabeth’s house is a traditional house but yet equipped with a huge array of features like dishwasher and washer to keep up with our laundry needs. Toys, basketball and Netflix definitely keep my kids entertained. Most importantly is the jaw dropping view of the sheep and greenery with the Braes in the background when you look out of the window. A friendly and hospitable host who is willing to go the extra mile! 👍

Grants house is Stylish, clean and with beautiful views over Loch Harport. Handy for Carbost 1m away, which offers a good pub, cafe and Distillery. Only 30 mins from Portree which has nearly everything you need. It is obviously loved and cared for by the owner.

There is not enough space in this box for me to express how lovely Fiona and her cottage are! Everything is exactly as pictured (actually even more beautiful than pictured) and Fiona is lovely, incredibly responsive to any messages and happy to go above and beyond for any questions that I had. Everything in the cottage is clearly labeled with helpful instructions for use, and Fiona reviewed everything with me at check-in as well. I was traveling alone, and she checked in with me several times to make sure I was comfortable and ensure that everything was going well. A minor repair was needed while I was there and Fiona's husband quickly addressed it and was very considerate with ensuring the repair was done at a time that I would be out. The surroundings are peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I will absolutely be back!

A lovely comfortable and well renovated cottage in a wonderful location. Well situated for exploring the Scottish Highlands. Would highly recommend.

Amazing view from the terrace, cozy and quiet place, one of our favourite places!

we arrived at the cottage a little later than check in. The first thing that stood out for us was just how cozy the place was as the photos do not do it justice. Seonaid was communicative throughout our stay however we unfortunately never got the chance to meet her as we were out and about enjoying the amazing surroundings the area has to offer. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the whole of Ardnamurchan. we enjoyed our evening's relaxing by the fire for there was plenty of fuel available on site at no extra cost. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen area is well equipped to cook. Perfect for for self catering as food and restaurant's are limited in this area. however can be found if you are willing to travel. Near to the cottage is the river Shiel ..... There is a bench just a five minute walk away where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature. we will hopefully return in the future.
