Our cottage is surrounded by nature, quiet and on the Alpstein hiking trail In the garden, there is a cozy sitting lounge, a large fireplace and the garden shower for cooling off. The magnificent views and the Alpine feeling can be particularly well enjoyed from the bench on the forecourt. Inside it is beautifully and cozily furnished, with a tiled stove and wood-burning stove, a cozy living room and a spacious dining table. Everything is fully furnished and ready for guests :)

Welcome to Appenzellerland, in the valley of the Silvesterchläuse, in Urnäsch, an old house with a separate entrance, a nice place to sit, directly on the Urnäsch (stream) and the Postbus stop towards Schwägalp, the duplex apartment was renovated in the 1970s, with a small kitchen and a spacious living room to linger in, simple, quiet and cozy and good to know, in the other part of the house (private entrance) my parents live, but this does not affect you.

If you are looking for luxury in the traditional sense, the Bird's Nest is not the right place. The luxury of the bird's nest is the wonderful simplicity. What a magical place! Monika Egli's Tiererlebnishof in Wildegg/Urnäsch is an absolute highlight for all nature lovers and animal lovers. As a trained farmer and wilderness educator, she offers unique alpaca and llama treks that are second to none. Highlights of my visit: Wonderful walk through meadows with cuddly alpacas Personal introduction and small aperitif before trekking Great atmosphere overlooking the Säntis! Perfect for couples, families, team outings or just a relaxing day with friends. An absolute must in Appenzell! Tip: Bring weatherproof clothing and hiking shoes.

We were there with two families with two two-year-old children and the playroom and the outdoor play options were worth their weight in gold. In the kitchen was everything you need. The bathroom was very clean. Manu was very kind and helpful. The area is very idyllic and quiet and also often easily accessible by public transport.

We spent a wonderful weekend with Sylke and Felix - we would have liked to have stayed longer! The place was even more beautiful than the photos and one of the coziest and most thoughtful we've ever been in. The owners are very warm people who have obviously created this wonderful oasis with heart and soul. Beautifully located in nature and yet only a stone's throw from St. Gallen. Highly recommended!

We had a pleasant stay over Easter weekend and felt right at home. Ines's place is bright and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking pots and utensils. The loft has a very low ceiling and the ladder up is quite steep, so really suited just to the young and agile. Getting into St. Gallen by car only took a few minutes.

The house is beautifully located and also super nicely decorated. It is freestanding and with no direct neighbors. Arriving by public transport will probably be difficult, but it was perfect for us! It's a real adventure to explore the house and all its details. Everything was clean and the contact with the hosts was good. We would have liked to have stayed longer and next time we would come in the summer, so we can also enjoy the beautiful turnaround:) Thank you for the pleasant stay.

Lea and Manuel are wonderful- helpful and took action on little things that needed immediate attention. The apartment is actually much more beautiful in person than in the pictures. I would highly recommend staying at his lovely and spacious Airbnb. I’ve stayed at a lot over the decades and this one stands out as one of the best. Plus you get to interact with their dog and the two adorable ducks in the yard. The location is also perfect if you have a car. Thank you Lea and Manuel.

I had a truly wonderful overnight stay! First, I was greeted by a personalized welcome sign, which I really appreciated. (As a solo traveler, away from my friends and family, small touches like that mean a lot to me). Second, I can't say enough about the space. Clean, and very well lit with large sunlight windows in the bedroom, and large windows on both ends. The bathroom is nice enough, the bed is very comfortable, the kitchen well appointed with everything you might need. But the star of the show is truly the wood-burning stove. I hadn't seen one since I was a teenager, growing up in the Midwest of the United States. Suffice to say, it brought back a lot of fond memories. I spent the evening with a fire going, reading a book, and slowly pushing my chair back from the warmth of the stove. Good location - about a 10 min. walk from the Schwendi bei Heiden tramway stop, and located along a well-marked hiking path. Bottom line: I can't get back here soon enough!
