Vacation rentals in Appenzell Ausserrhoden

My fiancé and I booked Johannes’ beautiful home to celebrate our Switzerland elopement with our closest friends. Everyone loved how charming the home was and how beautiful the surrounding was. There were lots of cooking tools for us to use. The only real issue was the ceiling above the second flight of stairs…taller people had a difficult time not hitting their head. Other than that, it was a great space to spend time with amazing people.

Vreni welcomed us warmly, the accommodation is practical, cozy and invites you to linger.

We stayed at this wonderful place for the 2nd time and enjoyed the 5 days very much. Here we feel very much at home and everything you need is available. The place is very clean, quietly located, cozily furnished, everything is available and Marlis is a super host! What more could you ask for? I'm sure we'll be back! Being able to experience the old New Year's Eve (Chlausen) in Urnäsch was an absolute highlight and very impressive. You can also do great, beautiful hikes in the area. We had the best stay in Appenzell in this beautiful Airbnb! It was the perfect place to relax. The sauna was a great way to recover after a day of hiking and we woke up each morning, excited to have coffee while looking at the mountains. Thank you so much for sharing this little slice of paradise!

This apartment is ideally suited for relaxing vacations. I immediately felt very comfortable in this homely, bright, cozy attic apartment. Everything was there that I need. You can walk to the train station, the bakery and the grocery store on the way. Everything is exactly as described.

Though we didn’t speak the same language, Mägi was incredibly kind and friendly, helping us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. The area itself is beautifully serene—surrounded by nature, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind. We slept well every night, thanks to the calm atmosphere and cozy space. We often found ourselves just soaking in the views and appreciating the simple beauty all around us. One unexpected joy was the sweet cat who came by to visit often. We completely fell in love with her, and it was genuinely hard to say goodbye. She definitely added a special touch to our stay.

A beautiful place to relax, breathe and slow down. We had a wonderful time here, because the bungalow is very cozy,offers everything you need and a magnificent view. Anji and her family are very kind and caring, but not intrusive. We felt very comfortable, did great activities (also thanks to many nice tips from Anji) and had a wonderful week in Switzerland. A fantastic spot that we like to remember and will definitely visit again.
