Family-friendly vacation rentals in Amsterdam-Centrum

This is our third time staying at Tine’s cottage over the past nearly ten years. It feels like a home away from home. We love Tine and she treats everyone like family. In case you don’t know already, this cottage sits on a quiet street, with its own private parking, entrance, and privacy. It is a very short walk into the backside of Zaanse Schans by the Windmills. You can borrow one of Tine’s many bicycles or simply walk the flat peaceful lanes into the open air park and experience clogs making, cheesemaking, stroopwafels, historic homes and neighborhoods well preserved, shops and gifts, a museum, and the most beautiful intact and functioning windmills you’ll find anywhere in the area - plus much more. It’s only 7-8 minutes to the Zaanse Schans train station and a straight shot in 15 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. Also very easy to get to Keukenhof via train, car, bus, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants close by. Our favorite spot out of all we’ve stayed at in Holland!

We stayed for a couple of days while visiting Amsterdam and Leiden - it was fantastic for the train and a real quiet cosy little place Kitty was a lovely host, she sent the most comprehensive directions I’ve ever gotten to find the place from the station and was super speedy to respond. Thanks for having us 😊

Our family (3 kids 9-13) really enjoyed staying at Elisabeth’s home. It was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and an easy walk to the village for shopping, dining and necessities.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft in Zandvoort. Die Wohnung war genauso wie beschrieben und auf den Fotos – sauber, gemütlich und sehr einladend. Wir haben uns von Anfang an wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist einfach perfekt – nah zum Strand, zur Stadt und trotzdem ruhig. Annette war eine großartige Gastgeberin: sehr freundlich, gut erreichbar und mit tollen Tipps für die Umgebung. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder!

Das Haus hinten im Garten ist einfach wunderbar. Großes Wohnzimmer,Fernseher nur in holländische und englische Sprache, wenn man unbedingt braucht ,das Bad mit Badewanne und Dusche, Schlafzimmer mit sehr bequemen Betten und zwei kleine Zimmer wovon eins mit Bett für erwachsene Menschen geeignet ist .Andere Zimmer mit Stock Bett eher für Kinder gedacht, haben wir aber nicht gebraucht. In jedem Fenster sind Moskito Netze vorhanden, was super wichtig ist weil gleich daneben ein kleines Bach fließt. Dazu sehr großes Garten mit ganz viel Platz für jegliche Aktivitäten. Küche komplett ausgestattet, auch mit Spülmaschine und sogar Tabs . Es ist auch alles sehr schön dekoriert und die Besitzer achten sehr auf Natur schonendes Verhalten ,was uns auch wichtig ist . Das Auto und Fahrräder stehen direkt vor der Tür. Und das beste dabei ist die Lage - keine Nachbarn weit und breit , Ruhe und Natur pur! Eifach perfekt 🤩 Nochmal vielen Dank für alles 🤗

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette maison qui est superbe ! Très spacieuse, propre et parfaitement équipée, aussi bien pour les adultes que pour les enfants. Tout le nécessaire pour les bébés est là (chaise haute, lit parapluie, tapis d’éveil…), ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Le quartier est calme, avec des supermarchés à proximité, et Amsterdam se rejoint facilement en 40 minutes de route. L’hôte a été adorable, très réactif et accueillant. Rien à redire, tout était parfait !

Ci siamo sentiti come a casa, zona tranquilla, con servizi tutti vicini a 3 km dal centro di Haarlem. Per raggiungere Amsterdam abbiamo utilizzato il treno che in 10 minuti raggiunge la stazione centrale di Amsterdam. Consigliatissimo.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans le gîte. Très beau gite décoré avec goût et très bien aménagé avec une accessibilité voiture et un parking. Gite situé dans une très jolie ville, accessible à pied et disposant de tous les commerces nécessaires. Gite proche d'Amsterdam (20 minutes pour accéder à un P+R) mais également proche d'Utrecht. Parfait !

Very nice place in the heart of Amsterdam and yet nice and quiet inside. The loft has an incredibly comfortable bed while there is a very acceptable sofa bed below. There is also another solution for a smaller individual who wants to sleep alone. The kitchen is well appointed, no microwave but everything you really need. Andrew was very responsive, and the lock system works really well, giving multiple people free movement.

Το σπιτι του Nicolas ειναι εξαιρετικο. Εχει τα παντα μεσα. πολυ καλα εξοπλισμενο. Απολαυσαμε την ηρεμια του χωριου σε ενα πολυ ανετο σπιτι με υπεροχη αυλη διπλα στο καναλι. Διπλα στη σταση λεωφορειων.

We had the most wonderful stay in this charming cabin nestled on the property of a windmill in Alkmaar. From the moment we arrived, our hosts Kelly and Han made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—so kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. The cabin itself is a dream—coziness taken to the next level. Every detail was thoughtfully put together, and it was the perfect place to unwind to relax. Waking up next to a windmill felt like something out of a fairytale. Alkmaar itself is a beautiful village full of history, with adorable shops and restaurants to explore. The charming canals add to the magical atmosphere, and it’s easy to hop on a train to Amsterdam for a day trip. We’re already dreaming of our return and feel so lucky to have made such lovely new friends in Kelly and Han. Highly recommend this magical spot to anyone visiting The Netherlands!

Sander's place is one of the best place that I have ever stay with Airbnb. It comfort and details can even matched the big five stars hotel brands. I will definitely choose this place again when I am in Amsterdam.For those who have not decide your choice in Amsterdam, I fully recommend this place to you.

A little far from city center, but great place to stay outside of the city!

Wir waren ganz begeistert von dem Hof, dem Garten und der Wohnung. Es gibt soviele schöne Details, dass man viele Tage bräuchte, alle zu entdecken. Alles war so kreativ und gemütlich, man merkt, dass viel Arbeit, Herzblut und Liebe in den Dingen steckt. Auch die Tiere mochten wir sehr.... Wir hatten einen sehr herzlichen Empfang und viele tolle Tipps für Ausflüge- gerade, weil wir auch mit Hunden unterwegs waren, war es wunderbar, dass auch die ihren Spaß haben konnten und wir sie überall mitnehmen konnten...wir hatten eine schöne Zeit und haben sie gut gefüllt! Danke an Patries und Mike und ihre Tiere!!

Meine Familie und ich haben uns gleich wie zuhause gefühlt. Es war absolut wie beschrieben. Sehr idyllisch, ruhig und sobald die Sonne raus kam ein Traum um draußen die Zeit zu verbringen. Anita war super lieb und hat sogar etwas Kuchen gebracht. Es war wirklich super und dieses wunderschöne Grundstück einfach ein Traum.

Ons vriendinnen weekend zit er weer op! We hebben genoten van het huisje, de geweldige tuin, het weer ☀️ en de prachtige omgeving 🌷 Lita is gastvrij en behulpzaam. Heerlijk gewandeld vanuit het huisje over de bollenvelden (prachtig) richting de duinen en het strand. Geluncht bij Beachclub Bries in de ☀️ Het Malote Pad gelopen, langs het strand weer terug richting het huisje. Zeker een aanrader!

Very nice and stylish house. Elisabeth provided us very helpful information for the house and for activities and was always available in case of questions. The house is very close to the small village centre and also close to the beach, Harlem and Amsterdam - Just perfect :-)

Unser Aufenthalt in Francines Unterkunft war einfach großartig. Die nahegelegene Straßenbahn ermöglichte es uns, das Zentrum von Amsterdam bequem und stressfrei zu erreichen. Nach einem langen Tag in der Stadt war der Garten ein wahres Highlight – ein wunderschöner Ort zum Entspannen, der unseren Urlaub noch besser gemacht hat. Francine war immer erreichbar und hat uns mit vielen nützlichen Tipps versorgt, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und ideal für Familienausflüge. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen!

La casa di Elsbeth è molto bella e confortevole. Ha 2 giardini, uno davanti alla casa e uno sul retro, il posto auto e l interno della casa è molto curato, il tutto in un paesino delizioso a pochi minuti da Amsterdam ( bus a 5 minuti a piedi) o dai favolosi paesi di Marken, Volendam, Edam. Inoltre eravamo in compagnia di un dolce gattino e di 3 galline. Fantastico

Casa bella e molto confortevole. Hidde ci ha messo a disposizione praticamente tutta la sua casa. Ha un bellissimo giardino che consente di pranzare all'aperto. Zona estremamente tranquilla e silenziosa . Ci siamo trovati benissimo.
