Family-friendly vacation rentals in Amsterdam-Centrum

This is our third time staying at Tine’s cottage over the past nearly ten years. It feels like a home away from home. We love Tine and she treats everyone like family. In case you don’t know already, this cottage sits on a quiet street, with its own private parking, entrance, and privacy. It is a very short walk into the backside of Zaanse Schans by the Windmills. You can borrow one of Tine’s many bicycles or simply walk the flat peaceful lanes into the open air park and experience clogs making, cheesemaking, stroopwafels, historic homes and neighborhoods well preserved, shops and gifts, a museum, and the most beautiful intact and functioning windmills you’ll find anywhere in the area - plus much more. It’s only 7-8 minutes to the Zaanse Schans train station and a straight shot in 15 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. Also very easy to get to Keukenhof via train, car, bus, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants close by. Our favorite spot out of all we’ve stayed at in Holland!

We stayed for a couple of days while visiting Amsterdam and Leiden - it was fantastic for the train and a real quiet cosy little place Kitty was a lovely host, she sent the most comprehensive directions I’ve ever gotten to find the place from the station and was super speedy to respond. Thanks for having us 😊

Our family (3 kids 9-13) really enjoyed staying at Elisabeth’s home. It was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and an easy walk to the village for shopping, dining and necessities.

We had a wonderful stay at the accommodation in Zandvoort. The apartment was exactly as described and in the photos – clean, cozy and very welcoming. We felt comfortable right from the beginning. The location is just perfect – close to the beach, town and yet quiet. Annette was a great host: very friendly, easily accessible and with great tips for the area. We will definitely be happy to come back!

The house in the back of the garden is simply wonderful. Large living room,TV only in Dutch and English, if you absolutely need it, the bathroom with bath and shower, bedroom with very comfortable beds and two small rooms one of which is suitable with bed for adults. Other rooms with bunk bed rather intended for children, but we did not use them. Mosquito nets are available in each window, which is super important because a small stream flows right next to it. In addition, very large garden with plenty of space for any activities. Kitchen fully equipped, also with dishwasher and even tabs. It is also very nicely decorated and the owners pay a lot of attention to nature-friendly behavior, which is also important to us. The car and bicycles are right outside the door. And the best thing is the location - no neighbors far and wide, pure peace and nature! Simply perfect 🤩 Thanks again for everything 🤗

We had a great time at this house which is superb! Very spacious, clean and perfectly equipped, for both adults and children. Everything necessary for babies is there (high chair, baby bed, play mat, etc.), which is really appreciated. The neighborhood is quiet, with supermarkets nearby, and Amsterdam can easily be reached in 40 minutes by car. The host was lovely, very responsive and welcoming. No complaints, everything was perfect.

We felt right at home, a quiet area, with amenities all nearby 3 km from the center of Haarlem. To get to Amsterdam we used the train that in 10 minutes reaches Amsterdam Central Station. Highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights in the cottage. Very nice tastefully decorated and very well furnished cottage with car accessibility and parking. Gite located in a very pretty city, within walking distance and with all the necessary shops. Gite near Amsterdam (20 minutes to access a P+R) but also close to Utrecht. Perfect!

Very nice place in the heart of Amsterdam and yet nice and quiet inside. The loft has an incredibly comfortable bed while there is a very acceptable sofa bed below. There is also another solution for a smaller individual who wants to sleep alone. The kitchen is well appointed, no microwave but everything you really need. Andrew was very responsive, and the lock system works really well, giving multiple people free movement.

Edam is a great place where you can easily get everything you need on foot. It has lots of great restaurants in walking distance and everywhere has picturesque canals and waterways. Super friendly and relaxed home with top class amenities. Perfect for a family .

We had the most wonderful stay in this charming cabin nestled on the property of a windmill in Alkmaar. From the moment we arrived, our hosts Kelly and Han made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—so kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. The cabin itself is a dream—coziness taken to the next level. Every detail was thoughtfully put together, and it was the perfect place to unwind to relax. Waking up next to a windmill felt like something out of a fairytale. Alkmaar itself is a beautiful village full of history, with adorable shops and restaurants to explore. The charming canals add to the magical atmosphere, and it’s easy to hop on a train to Amsterdam for a day trip. We’re already dreaming of our return and feel so lucky to have made such lovely new friends in Kelly and Han. Highly recommend this magical spot to anyone visiting The Netherlands!

Beautiful houseboat in a great location and easy access to all of Amsterdam. The houseboat was warm and cosy and perfect for our short stay. Hanco is a great host

Sander's place is one of the best place that I have ever stay with Airbnb. It comfort and details can even matched the big five stars hotel brands. I will definitely choose this place again when I am in Amsterdam.For those who have not decide your choice in Amsterdam, I fully recommend this place to you.

nice place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. everything was nice and tidy

A little far from city center, but great place to stay outside of the city!

Patries and Mike are phenomenal hosts and good-hearted people - both to their guests and their animals on the farm. The love for their farm can be felt immediately and the atmosphere is unique. Great tips and recommendations that they give for a wonderful stay. Both us and our two dogs felt incredibly welcome. We would come back anytime.

My family and I felt right at home. It was absolutely as described. Very idyllic, quiet and as soon as the sun came out a dream to spend time outside. Anita was super sweet and even brought some cake. It was really great and this beautiful property was just a dream.

Lovely comfortable little house, the children loved the garden with its trampoline and table tennis. We used public transport, it was a short walk to the bus stop and and leisurely walk in to town for some lovely restaurants. The local beach was beautiful and seeing all the bulb fields around.

Very nice and stylish house. Elisabeth provided us very helpful information for the house and for activities and was always available in case of questions. The house is very close to the small village centre and also close to the beach, Harlem and Amsterdam - Just perfect :-)

Francine's apartment is even more beautiful than the photographs, it is equipped with everything and you really feel at home. The neighborhood is very green and quiet. It's convenient to use the metro to visit all the places in and around Amsterdam. There are various shops and a supermarket nearby. We also had a picnic at the swimmable lake near the house. Francine was always available with us, even though she was not present. He still welcomed us in person with his children, who were also very nice. I recommend this place to everyone.

Elsbeth's place is very nice and comfortable. It has 2 gardens, one in front of the house and one in the back, the parking space and the interior of the house is very well cared for, all in a delightful village just minutes from Amsterdam ( bus 5 minutes walk) or the fabulous villages of Marken, Volendam, Edam. We were also in the company of a sweet kitten and 3 chickens. Fantastic

Beautiful and very comfortable home. Hidde made practically his entire house available to us. It has a beautiful garden that allows you to dine outdoors. Extremely quiet and peaceful area. We had a great time.
