Family-friendly vacation rentals in Ameland

We had a fantastic weekend at 't Holthus! An oasis of peace, surrounded by beautiful nature and with all the comfort you could wish for. The cottage was stylishly furnished, sparkling clean and equipped with every comfort. The hot tub was of course a highlight. The warm welcome and personal touches of the owners made our stay extra special. Perfect for recharging for a while.

The place is in a great location and offers a silence that is like no other. Really excellent for a secluded getaway! We had booked the accommodation spontaneously for one night, as our actual accommodation was overbooked. The owners responded incredibly quickly after we were able to contact them through the neighbors. Without their intervention, we wouldn't have known where to find a place to stay that night. So we had a nice family vacation. Thank you and best regards!

We (two adults and two children 2 and 7) enjoyed it very much. The place is very spacious, has a super nice bathroom and the shared kitchen is well equipped. For the kids, especially the horses and the pony were an experience. We were also allowed to take a horseback ride with the pony. In the area we can recommend a trip to the seal center in Pieterburen or the island of Schiermonnikoog. Supermarkets are in the area in Dokkum just 8 minutes by car. A small suggestion for improvement: a few cabinets or shelves would be nice so you do not have to live out of a suitcase. With the many clothes with children, there is chaos in the entire place quickly.

In 2016, I already spent a weekend with friends in the Coach House. I liked that, so just booked again. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Sjoerd and Jeltsje. Fresh eggs, flowers and a welcome card on the table. The Carriage House is an oasis of peace just a few minutes from Dokkum. Behind the cottage you can enjoy the beautiful view from the wind in the spring sun. Also nice that we were free to take a look in the stables. In the evening we had a nice glass of wine in the hot tub. The downside was the extra cost; the hot tub was more expensive than listed on Airbnb and it was also not indicated that we had to pay extra for the towels (€15 for 5). Too bad, because we would have brought them ourselves. Nevertheless, it is and remains a great place to relax and enjoy.

Simply fantastic! In a very quiet location, right on the water. We were in the cute cottage with 2 people and 3 dogs. Everything was really clean and tidy, the view from the living room right on the water is just great! It was remodeled after the photos, there is now a large double-leaf door in the living room to the garden from which you can climb directly into the pool. The closed fence is no longer there, so you can look directly at the water, but there is a small (about 50 cm) grid barrier for the dogs so that they cannot walk directly into the water. Sufficient for us. Relaxing to relax and unwind perfectly! Very cozy! There is a small restaurant within walking distance. I'm sure we'll be back!

The house is sensational. Very impressive high rooms, huge and very tastefully decorated. Everything you need is there. You can park right in front of the house. Just right for our family trip (10 people). We wanted a quiet house near the North Sea. Sandra and Nic are great hosts. We can all recommend the house.

We stayed with Bianca for 7 days. 2 adults and 4 children. It was great. The place offers many possibilities for families. The children had bicycles and other vehicles available. Horses, goats, chickens and cats were also there for cuddling. The beds were very comfortable, almost better than at home :) Everything was clean, the kitchen equipped with everything needed. The kids made friends and the parents can also sit together comfortably in the evening. The surroundings offer many opportunities, uncomplicated fishing, ferries to the island, sandy beaches, indoor with a small zoo. All in all it was a great vacation, the kids were also thrilled!

We felt very comfortable in the house. It was as described and everything was available for a successful vacation. The location of the house is great for families! The beach, shopping and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Theo answered any questions quickly and kindly.

We thought it was a great location. Shop and restaurant within walking distance. The cottage was really beautiful with a lovely garden. We thought it was more beautiful in real life than in the photos. Bunk bed was replaced by regular beds. And the beds slept really super. All in all a top location! If we go to Ameland again, we will go here again.

What a beautiful place to stay! The location is very quiet and special with views from every room, lots of light and a lovely garden. Marlies and her husband were welcoming and helpful. The decor was tasteful and cozy and even with many guests the house was spacious. In the kitchen there was plenty of crockery to cover nicely for a dinner in the house. Highlights were the ping pong table and (tuned) piano!

Nice little house to stay for a few days! We liked the living room and the little garden to catch some sun in the morning!

We had a wonderful week in Holwerd. We stayed with our three children in Annet's home. Everything was available. A nice place to stay for a week. A nice base to visit the Wadden Islands and also to do everything in the area.

We felt very comfortable in the vacation home of Eva and her husband. We arrived relatively early in the morning with the ferry on Ameland and were able to check in directly into the house. There was a friendly greeting from Eva. The house is in the immediate vicinity of the private house. Nevertheless, you are very much on your own. We also liked the spacious property with the nice little private area with terrace and the play facilities for our little daughter. We also brought our dog, who also enjoyed the free range. Everything was very clean and ready at check-in. The living area and also the master bedroom are modernly furnished. You can tell that everything is gradually being renewed here (e.g. also the new path to the house). The bathroom is a bit outdated, but everything was clean and good here. Overall, we recommend the accommodation and would love to come back.

Very friendly host Mr. Alfred, communicates a lot and is helpful. The location of the bungalow is fantastic, near the dunes and the beach with lots of hiking and cycling possibilities. The reception and facilities of holiday park Klein water are also in walking distance. The bungalow was super clean and more than completely furnished. We had a misunderstanding about the bedding(not present) but that could be fixed soon. The bedrooms and plumbing are compact and slightly dated but very functional. Fine beds by the way. There are also modern, quite young bungalows through commercial businesses in the immediate vicinity, for rent which are a bit cheaper but they miss the "personal touch". We had a great stay.

We were there for a week with our kids and grandma and grandpa. The apartment was super cut and equipped. The sauna was the high light. Everything was easily accessible by bike. Gladly come back.

We had a wonderful time last weekend! Unfortunately, the weather was not optimal all the time, spending time in the chalet was absolutely no punishment for this reason. Upon entering, it smells wonderfully clean, living area more than spacious enough for six people. We will definitely book with the same host again in the future. The stay in Imke's apartment was very relaxing. The quiet location and the beautiful countryside of Ameland with fine beach, wind, dunes, many birds and very nice residents is highly recommended. The apartment, where you can live well for two with one or two younger children, is furnished to cook for yourself. All cabinets and drawers are very practical and space-saving and contain everything for basic needs. If you're outside a lot, the space is enough. The bathroom with tub is spacious.

We had a nice weekend in Renée's chalet! A nice place, with everything you need. And a pleasant starting point for all directions on the island. Our highlight was the bunny in the garden in the morning. See you next time!

Second time staying and we really enjoyed our stay with our small dog. We cannot travel abroad by plane with him so this is a great option to have holiday together. Nice quiet location just outside the village but still very close-by for supermarket and cafes. Easy access for a walk to the beach and to the dunes. Lots of rabbits jumping around. The swimming pool is an added bonus for the rainy days. We loved there, people are very friendly everywhere we go. Thank you for having us, we hope to return.

This must be the cottage with the most beautiful view of the whole park. Grazing sheep with lambs right in front of the window, wide view over the meadows towards Menaam. is also nicely centrally located. Leeuwarden, Franeker, Holwerd and Harlingen are all easily accessible
