Monthly Rentals in Amami Island

Very peaceful time in Yamato village, a bit remote from the city area where it’s much more convenient, but if you are looking for some peaceful quiet time, this place is great. The onsen Hanahana resort was really close by and we had a good time of water sliders and some sauna time on a rainy day. The owner couple was very helpful communicating where to eat and things to do.

My main purpose to visit Amami island was to see Nansei Shoto beautiful endemic birds, such as the Amami Woodcock, Ryukyu Robin and Lidth’s Jay. My initial plan was to stay here for one night and head to Yuwandake, but there was no need to go that far as most of my targets came to Oki’s garden! I woke up with a Ryukyu Robin singing. My stay here could not have been more enjoyable thanks to Oki’s kindness. He’s a great host and will make your stay in Amami a beautiful and memorable experience. Thank you very much for everything, Oki San, and I hope to come back soon!

My daughter is graduating, so I went to Amami Oshima, my daughter's request. Unfortunately, it was cloudy or rainy during my stay, so I couldn't play much in the sea, but I bought food and had a pleasant time in a comfortable inn. I didn't let my daughters know about the accommodation in advance, but they arrived and were very happy. It was nice to be able to live a different life with a large kitchen, a large living room, and a bedroom with a good view of the sea.

We stayed at Mermaid for the second time, also for our children's graduation trip. As with last time, the location was great, and although it was cold, the kids had a great time swimming, looking for creatures, and BBQing on the private beach in front of the house. There were no restaurants nearby, so we took a taxi to get food, but we were looking forward to that, so we had a great time for 3 nights and 4 days. It's a place where you can feel at peace no matter how many times you visit.
