Vacation rentals with a kayak in Alpena County

Clean and comfortable cottage overlooking Lake Huron with easy walking access to the sandy beach. Particularly enjoyed sitting on the back deck with a cup of tea to take in the lake view.

Matthew’s place was absolutely perfect for our quick trip to Alpena with our dog. Puppers absolutely loved all the dog-friendly amenities. Little bit older home, but that makes it extremely pet (and kid) friendly. Matthew was very responsive & flexible with our situation for check in-out. Beds were incredibly comfortable.

The photos do not do the property justice. It was extremely beautiful and peaceful and perfect for our group. The nature at night was amazing. I just wish we could have stayed for more than just a couple hours. Easy to find, accurate description, lovely place.

This place was beautifully kept! The host had everything we needed and everything was clean. The property is beautiful and quiet. My children and I all enjoyed our time here and we look forward to planning more trips in the other seasons to enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Fantastic view. Peaceful. Quiet and having use of the lake toys was an added bonus!! Very clean and well stocked kitchens. Central Air was nice for sleeping. We were able to use the dock for our boat and even caught some nice walleye for supper. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Danielle for the use of your place.

Super cute place. Not far from downtown, but enough to not feel crowded. Communication was excellent. House was clean and had lots of little extras, they really paid attention to details. Nice setup for a family stay with infant items available if needed. Lots of water toys, it was too cold for us to use, but loved that they were available. Other outside and even inside games. Again, lots attention to detail. Definitely recommend this place!

The peace and quiet of Beaver Lake exceeded our expectations. Awesome place to get away for a weekend. The house had more than enough space and everything was in perfect order. Would not hesitate to recommend this spot for an up-north getaway!

Right on the water, which is exactly what we wanted. We LOVED the sun room and spent most of our time there just enjoying the view of Lake Huron. Even in early December, it was beautiful to look out at the lake and decompress from our regular lives. We came here for a weekend anniversary trip and it was a lovely getaway.

This is my group's second time staying at Beth's place. Every other year me, my dad, and a couple friends drive up to Michigan to fish. The house is situated perfect for us. The dock makes it easy for us to keep the boats right there at the back door so we don't have to worry about anyone messing with our stuff. They've installed outlets out back, making it easy on us to charge the batteries. They even have a spot across the road to keep our trailers. Beth is always quick to respond. She and her husband and great hosts, and we never have to worry about anything. Everything is exactly as described which is why we knew booking this place would suit all of our needs. If you're wanting a great place to stay on long lake, this is it.

I had a wonderful stay at Pete’s place. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. There were thoughtful details all around the house like fresh cut flowers and a note with contact info. There were even dog bowls and items that made it feel more like home. This was a great spot to stay and I highly recommend it

Cute little cottage on the river. Great location and close to Hubbard Lake. Amanda is a perfect host, great communication and very responsive.

Absolutely loved our stay here. House is beautifully done and very comfortable. Host were amazing in helping us with a late night arrival. We look forward to being able to return in the future.

Beautiful setting! Water was sandy and shallow near the dock for the kiddos to play in. Had a couple kayaks a canoe and paddle board for use. House was clean and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. Bathrooms were clean and had plenty of extra towels and beach towels. Host was very responsive and recommendations she made were excellent. Even had some yard games and toys there for the kids to play with. We would definitely go back!

We had a wonderful stay in Alpena, and Sarah was an exceptional host…readily available, kind, and incredibly accommodating. The house was spotless, well-stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit, especially for cooking meals at home. What really made the experience stand out was the outdoor space. There was plenty of comfortable seating, beautiful lighting in the evenings, and the peaceful water nearby made it a perfect spot to relax. Our kids had a blast fishing and loved the indoor games provided, which was a big plus. It’s the little touches that truly set this stay apart—like having coffee and creamer ready for us when we arrived. Thank you, Sarah, for creating such a welcoming space. We’d love to come back!
