Vacation rentals with a kayak in Almira Township

My family rang in the New Year here, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is absolutely charming, and the home itself is beautifully styled. If you happen to forget anything, no need to worry—the hosts have thought of everything, even providing a handy book of local recommendations. The home was not only spotless but also incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful communication from the hosts, who sent helpful information ahead of time and were quick to respond to any questions. A perfect stay—10 out of 10! My mom is already planning our return!

This was the perfect location to stay for our fall golf trip to Arcadia Bluffs. A beautiful home less than 20 minutes to the course. Highly recommended.

The lake house was exactly as described and looked just like the photos. Plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked. Lots of blankets and pillows. The lake was beautiful and the kayaks were really nice to have. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I had a few days off for a fall break. Dennis' place was a perfect spot. The drive there and the surrounding woods were vibrant with color. The place was comfortable, well-suited for a short or long stay, and was stocked with plenty to do. The short path to the lake is great, and the dock provides a lovely view. We spent hours just sitting on the dock chairs reading. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny days. We took the short drive into Traverse City to go to Trattoria Stella, one of our very favorite restaurants. We also took a short hike out back to connect to the Mt Minnie trail and thoroughly enjoyed that hike. Being minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, and Franfort was a perfect location. Our last evening, we went 15 minutes to Peterson Beach and watched the sun set and stayed to watch all the stars emerge in the darkness. It was amazing! We didn't, but we could have built a fire there on the beach.. We hope to return. Thanks Dennis!

We so enjoyed our family trip here! It felt like a tree house upstairs looking out to trees and the lake. It was a cozy family room area. We had a great time kayaking in big Sanford lake. It was so peaceful on the weekdays we were there. Sometimes we were the only kayakers. It was close to Traverse City and we checked out Frankfort and Crystal Mountain too. Overall would recommend!

My husband and I loved this AirBnb. We watched the most beautiful sunset on kayaks and ate breakfast with lake Portage as our view. There was a really great nature trail within walking distance of the place too where you could take your dog for a walk.

Perfect in every way! Great location, cozy beds and sparkling clean. I was lucky to visit in snow season but can only imagine how beautiful it is Imi the summer.

The cottage was exactly what was advertised and the pictures were accurate. The cottage was very warm, inviting and clean. We had a great time on the water and the location was great to go to other areas such as Traverse City as well. Very nice property!

We had a lovely stay! The cottage was so cute and I just loved how they decorated it! We absolutely loved the hot tub and used it every day! We decided to walk down to the beach through all the snow, would love to stay in the summer when we can actually go swimming!! Ate at Peegeos twice during our stay, so close and so good, get the cheesecake! So delicious and made from scratch! We will definitely be back!

Great little cozy cottage in a secluded community. Stayed here in early April so didn’t get to take advantage of the beach/gazebo/firepit, but they looked very nice. Nice location close enough to the city but is off the main drag. Would love to stay here again!

Great spot, exactly what we needed! It’s small and cozy, in a quiet area 10-15 minutes drive from anything you need. Smooth check in, clean spot, had whatever amenities you could think of. One thing: If you are taller than me (6’4) you may have some trouble with the bathroom. I made it work but were I an inch taller I wouldn’t have been able to fit for certain activities 😂

Memory maker is a beautiful place in Elk Rapids. Peaceful, in front of the lake, excellent location to spend time with a small group of friends/family and 30 minutes away from Traverse city. Really charming and had all amenities for a quick getaway. Even in frosty temperatures, the place looks like a safe heaven.

Spider Lake Cottage is a gem! Quiet ,peaceful and beautifully decorated. Nikki has truly thought of everything to make the guests' stay PERFECT! The kitchen is well stocked. The view of the lake through the windows is so pretty. Our Lab,Louis loved watching the squirrels and chipmunks in the trees and on the ground. There were also 2 ducks that made a few visits. We came during the early spring so we used the remote controlled fireplace while we read , played games and watched TV. We enjoyed cooking, drinking wine and turning on the twinkle lights at night. Absolutely loved our stay at this charming little cabin tucked away in the woods along the Rapid River. It was the perfect peaceful escape—quiet, cozy, and surrounded by nature. The sound of the river nearby was so calming, and the cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell the hosts put a lot of care into making it feel warm and welcoming. If you’re looking to unplug and recharge, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

The log cabin was fabulous. It was perfectly appointed and, even though not quite warm enough outside just yet, Bar Lake made all stress subside.

The cabin on the river was a perfect fall getaway. It was very peaceful, the house was comfortable and perfectly matched all descriptions. The fire-pit out back made an absolutely lovely evening. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.

Already planning to come back! Such a cozy and relaxing place to stay. The lake was amazing to look at and canoe around in. Beautiful location in general. Inside has everything you might need. Beds were comfy. Felt like home staying here.
