Mike was so friendly and accommodating. Stay bed was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our getaway. Property was private and in a beautiful neighborhood that was walking distance to the beach. Beach access was easy and well kept. Shops and stores were a short drive. Great spot! Great Host! This listing is exactly what you see and is perfect for one or two people. I loved the decor, it was very quiet, and the walk to the beach is 5 minutes on the nose (I timed it). I had a few questions and the hosts were very friendly with a fast response time. I loved the outdoor shower to rinse all the sand off. I would stay again and highly recommend.

What a sweet place! It was decorated so cute with a beach theme. It was very peaceful and quiet. It looked out at the golf course so no traffic to disturb you. This place was very clean. It was a close walk to the beach and within a short distance to businesses and places to eat. The kitchenette area was small but amazingly supplied! The electric fireplace added some warmth and ambiance. Cathy also went out of her way to try to help us find an item I thought I’d left in the unit after we checked out. We’d happily stay there again if we return to Kitty Hawk!

Mona is a sweetheart, and her place was perfect for my dog and me. It was clean and had the cutest backyard. Will definitely book again with her if I’m back in Virginia Beach

Hayley and Alex were so welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this stay if you have young children. They had all sorts of helpful toys and gear for kids. They're a wonderful couple and willing to help with anything they can.

Loved our stay here. Great location, easy access & parking, private, quiet and comfortable. Jenn was very responsive and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook and serve a St. Patrick's meal with no problems. We took a walk through the pretty neighborhood and visited several local restaurants nearby. Truly felt like it was a home away from home.

My wife and I stayed at Max and Debbie’s place for the second time and it was even better than the first time. They had a welcome basket (did the first time too), but this one included a personal card and balloon, as my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We also were able to meet our hosts this time and they are great people. The weather was fantastic (not sure if they had anything to do with that) and we were always comfortable. We spent a lot of our time exploring the area as we always do, but the place was great to relax at. Whether we were out in/by the pool, or watching tv in the living room, we felt like we were at home. We will be guests as long as Max and Debbie open up their space to us.

Fantastic stay. Exactly as advertised, spotless, spacious, and usefully equipped. Hot shower, comfy bed, WiFi and TV all worked perfectly. We had a restful stay for Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the off-season vibe of Manteo and the OBX. OP

Easy in easy check out very clean quiet loved the morning birds chirping away. 2 young boys were playin basketball in the turn around and as we backed out our car, the two of them immediately stopped, sat at the base of the basketball who and waited for us to leave! What respectful and well behaved children so nice to see these days. Thank you

Wow!! What a lovely comfortable clean little place!! My husband was skeptical because it’s located in the rear of a water sports shop but he was pleasantly surprised!! Candice’s place is thoughtfully put together. It’s spotlessly clean. The two queen size beds are memory foam & so comfortable… we slept great!! The location is perfect & walkable to many food options. It’s a very close drive to the interdunal & great fishing areas. We absolutely loved our stay & would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much!!

The Happy Honu was perfect for my sister, brother-in-law, their small dog and me. Loved having ground level so the dog could easily go in and out! Marina was quick to respond, and we had everything we needed. Loved the quiet neighborhood!! The suite and patio are well shaded - a great respite for those visiting in summer! Would definitely return - highly recommended!

Our first Airbnb stay—and what a dream! Reese & Cayce’s place in Kitty Hawk was spotless, cozy, and beautifully decorated with surf-inspired touches, local photography, and thoughtful details like fresh flowers, snacks, tea, and even dog towels. We were greeted warmly, given helpful beach parking info and dog-friendly food recs, and made to feel truly at home. The bed was super comfy, the couch shifted into a daybed for cozy nighttime TV, and there was a desk—perfect for future extended stays when we have to work. The hammocks were such a relaxing bonus, and we loved how quiet the area was while still being close to everything. The location was ideal for a peaceful escape. We especially enjoyed walks to the Wright Brothers Multi-Use Path—just a short stroll away—for breathtaking sunrises and colorful sunsets with our pup. Even with cold and stormy weather, the space was so welcoming that we didn’t mind at all. We can’t wait to return. 5 shining stars! Thanks for the hospitality!

Sammie’s place is the perfect beach pad! My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in OBX for a work trip and brought our dog. Sammie’s place is located in the perfect area — a quiet neighborhood full of friendly neighbors and just a quick walk to the Ocean and Sound. Outside of the neighborhood had lots of restaurants and stores which was super convenient. We felt very safe, the Airbnb was cute and clean, and Sammie had welcome beers for us and the perfect booklet outlining details for our stay and her recommendations. Sammie’s communication was great and how accommodating she was for our dog was very much appreciated. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat — it’s the perfect size and has everything you could need (privacy, bikes, beach chairs, an outdoor shower, cleanliness…I could go on and on). I look forward to staying with Sammie again in the future!

Me and my party loved this guest house! Everything was easy access and so clean. The kitchen area was our favorite part, as it included a lot and nice overall.

Maria and her place were absolutely wonderful! My husband and I took a little time to ourselves for the new year and had a blast. It was private and quiet. The bed was super comfortable and I LOVED the tub. My husband also really enjoyed the book collection she had. The whole area felt very comfortable as if you were in your own home. Maria was super responsive the whole stay with whatever we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Staying at Denise was a perfect way for me and my girlfriend to spend our 2 year anniversary. It had everything we needed!

This was our third time staying with Terrie and Monty, every visit has been amazing and this one was no exception. Terrie and Monty are so kind, friendly and helpful. Their cottage is the epitome of tranquility and every time we’ve stayed with them we go home wondering how we can make our home feel just as peaceful. They’re always responsive to questions and have let us know in advance if we need to be aware of anything happening in the area. This time Spectrum was doing some service work on the island and Monty let us know ahead of time and made sure we let them know if we needed help with any internet issues. We were looking for other beach ramps to try and as true locals, they gave us suggestions of good beaches to go to instead. This may not have been our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last! Loved everything! ♥️

My daughter and I did a 3 city tour of VA and NC and the Purple room was our last stop. We stayed for 2 nights. We weren't really able to enjoy all the fun whimsical stuff around the suite due to time constraints but we enjoyed what we were able. It is cozy and comfortable but not crowded. It is obvious the suite was curated with a lot of love. I enjoyed taking a "rainbow" shower and felt like royalty in the big bed. Any Airbnb host should strive to be like Schanen. We truly had a dream vacation! The only thing I would change is I wish there was a tiny freezer in the fridge. Awesome salsa, btw!
