Quick trip to Saxapahaw for great food at the General Store, The Eddy or Left Bank Butchery; beer at Haw River Ales; coffee at Cup 22; music at the Haw River Ballroom; kayak on the Haw River.

The Yurt at Frog Pond Farm

Our yurt (30' dia.) is rustic, beautiful, quiet, in deep woods with deck overlooking pond. Great for couples, small families (not childproof). Includes hot tub & Poetry Walk. Beds are futons. It's warm June-Aug. (no A/C, plenty fans), but way cooler than the city. It's cold Nov.-March (wood stove heat). Mini-fridge & microwave (no kitchen/plumbing). Parking and the bath-house are 2-min. walks (toilet, sink, shower). Two minutes to Saxapahaw. Read description for more info. NO PARTIES. No dogs.

Romp our woods, cuddle goats and donkeys, cast a fishing line or warm by a fire pit. Adventurers can bike Snow Camp's rural roads or drop kayaks in nearby Haw River. We all live in a yellow submarine. Experience a unique stay in an enclosed lifeboat converted to a yellow submarine. This lifeboat hung on the US Joshua Humpreys and saw action in the Gulf War.
