There is nowhere quite as magical as this: an historic, creaky cottage, owned by the same family for over 60 years, at the end of a farmers track under Cader Idris. It's a back-in-time experience, with wooden beams and antique furniture. Please read all the details carefully before you book. It’s remote both in location and from modern life. You have space, fresh air and tranquillity. It's comfortable but nothing fancy. No TV or wifi, but a woodburner, books and massive views behind the cottage.

Absolutely loved our stay at Eirlys and Paul's lovely property, Y Cartws. Set in a tranquil, peaceful spot off the beaten track, it is perfectly placed for travel in every direction, and then return to the secluded tranquility after your travels. Eirlys and Paul are the most amiable of hosts, friendly and quick to respond at all times. Whilst the let property is completely separate and private, Eirlys and Paul's house is close by, and so they are on hand in case of emergency. My partner, myself and my young daughter all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were so sorry to leave, we would have happily spent forever there. It would be remiss not to mention the dogs, a lovely feature of the holiday, particularly Bella, a gorgeous little treasure that was so well behaved and friendly. Being a working farm there is the opportunity to get involved at times, which would be lovely and interesting, particularly for children. I can't recommend it enough, don't hesitate, get it booked! 😊

Fabulous place with fabulous views and superb location. The photos give you a good idea but it is actually batter in real life! The attention to detail and the extras supplied if you need them are second to none. The place is an absolute gem that they have transformed over the last 13 years or so. Without doubt the best uk holiday home we have ever stopped in. 👏👏

Georgina is an excellent host. Very good communication from her. Instructions to the property were very clear. Property is absolutely beautiful with all bedrooms having ensuite. Very spacious bedrooms, kitchen was equipped with everything you need to make it a perfect holiday. Hot tub was a show stopper for us. We were a group of 13 and the holiday was fantastic. The accommodation was perfect for our large family with 3 generations staying with our 3 dogs . The area around the cottage was safe and secure for the toddlers and dogs alike . It is a Fantastic place to unwind . The cottage had everything you would need for a relaxing break . Great walks were had from the front door. The host Aled was very helpful from the off with a friendly welcome and a guided tour of the accommodation including use off the Hot tub . We will return I’m sure . Gary

I had a lovely relaxing stay at this air bnb. It was very cosy and clean. There was plently of equipment in the kitchen and didnt feel I was missing anything. Bed was super comfy and location is very sweet next to the lovely garden. The one thing I would say is the hob outside isn't the best choice for rainy Wales. I couldn't get the hob to stay lit because of the wind so had to contact the owners. They were obviously busy so took a while to get back to me but once they got home they were super helpful and moved the hob inside for me, which worked great.

We had a lovely stay at the Old Wollen Mill. Cheryl and Terry are brilliant hosts. They are very friendly and were happy to make a couple of changes to our booking. The house was very spacious and there was plenty of space for 8 adults and six children. The kitchen is very well stocked for big groups. The children enjoyed a dip in the river. Cheryl was always available to answer any questions and we enjoyed listening to what she is doing at the farm and had a tour. We would definitely stay at the farm again.

Honestly cannot tell you how much we loved this place! Fell in love from the moment we pulled up. We had the best time - so much so that we extended our original five-night stay by two nights. Cottage was extremely well presented, clean, well equipped and cosy. Location was beautiful and peaceful, with lots to do nearby. Our children are still talking about it now, and it took our dog a good week to stop sulking 😂. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks so much for having us ❤️
