We had a wonderful stay at Roger N Mary's property! The house was lovely, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning with our coffee enjoying the beautiful scenery and the geese in the pond. We didn't catch any fish but got a kick out of watching the giant carp swim around. It was nice to be able to walk around the trails on the property which went through open fields and in the woods. We absolutely would love to go back again to stay!

My brothers and I were in the area over Memorial weekend on our motorcycles to ride The Windy Nine motorcycle roads. This location was perfect, just outside of Athens but not too far. Quaint little cabin in the woods the also offered cover for our bikes to keep them from collecting morning dew. This small cottage offered everything we needed but bot too fancy. The only caution is finding the driveway on the initial arrival can be a bit tricky especially on motorcycles as the winding road that leads to the cottage is not too U-turn friendly for motorcycles. Overall, awesome place and we will be back!

We stayed here for our son's graduation from OU. The house was clean and well stocked, including spring water and coffee/creamers available. It was a quick ride back to campus. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience.

Chad was an awesome host! The room was great, my girlfriend and I loved the peacefulness of the place. However, I had a flat tire twice and Chad went above and beyond in his efforts for fixing my tire and we really appreciate you for helping us get home. That was so generous so thank you so much. We will definitely be staying here just based on hospitality alone. We appreciate you Chad!

This house was in a quiet, peaceful location and it was the perfect size for our family getaway. Loved how close it was to OU! We are looking forward to our next stay!

Great cozy house, well appointed and good location. We really enjoyed the porch.. especially since we encountered a bit of rain. the porch allowed us to sit and chat when the rain limited our planned activities.

Beautiful and peaceful place to spend quality time with my family. The cabin was very clean and had everything needed to hang out, cook, play games, and enjoy swimming. Love the porch! We spent almost all of our time on it. There was a grocery just 20 minutes away in Pomeroy that had any essentials you may want or need, including Mothman potato chips.😀 If you are looking to go and do something, I recommend the 45 minute trip to Point Pleasant to visit the Mothman museum. Be sure to watch the Mothman Prophecies the night before. It adds to the thrill. There is also a beautiful park by the river with great history. The town has quaint and unique shops. Overall, it was a wonderful relaxing stay!

Valorie’s home is truly a hidden gem that is beautiful, nostalgic, peaceful, and anything positive you can imagine. We had gotten lost en route, and Valorie was quick to get us back on track and even greeted us upon arrival to make sure we were safe and sound! We appreciated the warm welcome into her home with the beautiful postcard and gift! The property was absolutely beautiful and peaceful and we were able to walk and see/hear many birds while taking in nature. Her home was immaculate, clean, had everything we needed for our stay, and we were in awe of all the amazing historic books/decor! We were sad to leave, and would absolutely return. I highly recommend staying here, and Valorie is seriously a top notch host that deserves to be recognized! Thank you so much for everything, Valorie! May you stay well, healthy, and blessed!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It felt so cozy as soon as I walked in. It's in a private location which is nice and eases the mind after traveling through larger cities. The place was extremely clean and offered more than the essentials, I was amazed! Janice is very helpful and quick to reply. I enjoyed my stay here, and would recommend it to anyone!

I loved the place. I also like history , so to stay in a restored caboose was great. Bryan did a great job making this tiny space into a home. All the decorations had historical connections. He left UR codes to scan, so you could hear all about them..

This was my 2nd stay in the Cabooses. I stayed in the Chessie caboose the first time and I loved it ! I stayed in the B&O Caboose this time and loved it! Both were awesome! Now my delema is which one to book the next time. If you want a beautiful view, comfort and something different. Check it out!

A lot of house for the price. We only needed one bedroom and didn't do much in the kitchen, but if we came back, we feel it would be easy to bring friends and actually use the kitchen. The location is great being so close to everything: 2 minutes here, 4 minutes there, etc. Literally steps from the historic 1749 French landing place. Thanks for letting us bring our four-legged children!

We felt at home immediately. Even the lawn was manicured! The dogs were more relaxed here than they are at home even. There was a little issue with parking, but not worth any fuss. We just happened to arrive when the bbq diner across the street was packed on a Saturday evening. Sitting on the front porch together drinking good coffee and watching the river barges just right across the street going down the Ohio river was so relaxing. The house is just minutes away from lots of parks and historic walks and good coffee shops. We loved it. So easy to use for what we needed.

A few words could not begin to describe the peaceful feeling we had while staying here. We loved sitting on the front porch with our coffee in the mornings watching the sunrise. The boats and barges were going up and down the Ohio river all day long so we always had something to see. It is a short trip over to Parkersburg where there is much to see and do but we only went once as we were enjoying the cottage so much. We definitely plan to return to this gem.
