House vacation rentals in Winston County

We’ve stayed here before and loved it. This was the second trip to Jason’s home for us. He called ahead of time about new changes and updates. He’s always so thorough and the home is top notch. It’s so relaxing and luxurious and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. He makes amazing recommendations and everything is always well thought out.

This was our family’s first ever Lake Vacation and it did not disappoint. The view was spectacular. You are close to Smith Lake Marina if you want to rent a boat or jet ski. There are quaint restaurants close by and always a Dollar General. The home was just as Dave described. We loved having the golf cart to go to the dock. Dave was very helpful and always responsive. We hope to be back in Sept. for fall break. Thank you Dave for opening up your home away from home for my family and I to make new memories.

Beautiful home & location! The host was incredibly responsive and helpful! The lake access is a bit of steep walk (we knew this ahead of time), we didn’t have any issues with it, but it wouldn’t be ideal for older guests or people with mobility issues. The pool was beautiful and clean! Would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this place! The kids especially enjoyed the pool — it was a major highlight and made the trip even more fun. The home is secluded, which gave us peace and privacy, and the thoughtful touches throughout made it feel extra special. The bathroom was stunning, and the sauna was such a great bonus. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and just beautiful. Although we had to travel an hour to Huntsville for our activities, we didn’t mind the drive at all because we knew we were coming back to such a wonderful home. The host was incredibly accommodating and even allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend this place — we’d definitely stay again!

We were so happy to find this place in haleyville! We have a big family so having a place for everyone is hard to find., especially with a pool! The house is dated for sure but it has everything you need. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. We’re hoping to stay here again! The host was great and answered timely to any questions we had.

We love spending time at Smith Lake. This is our second time staying at Roberts beautiful home. He is a wonderful host. Quick to respond to any questions. The house is perfect for families. Lots of space for kids in the bunkroom or the basement with their own TV lounge area. Best area of Smith Lake with beautiful views. If you are looking for a peaceful place to vacation don't hesitate to stay here. You won't regret it! Looking forward to visiting again soon.

This is a beautiful spot on Smith Lake! We had 12 in our family reunion and all slept very comfortably. There is a huge back porch with solo stove fire pit which is perfect after a day out on the water. The dock is really big and fun to hang out, plus they have some water equipment-kayaks, SUP boards and a lily pad for sun bathing. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Would definitely go back to visit this place! There is cliff that you can paddle board too and jump off from the dock at the home. Very welcoming and lots of things provided for. Cribs/grill/ample space/very private- 11/10 place. Great swimming spot right off the dock.

I had a college graduation party at this property. We had plenty of room for our guests to move around and mingle. It rained the majority of our stay which is something no one could have changed. We still had an amazing time. We grilled in the rain, played games, ate food, and caught up with one another. The kids really enjoyed having a loft space. We had a few littles that came and they really enjoyed the toys. I will definitely keep this property in my notes for future summer getaways. We had everything we needed and more. Lisa is a great host, very responsive, and clear instructions! 11/10 would stay again.

We loved the cottage. Lakefront, rural. Everything we were looking for in a rental. The inside was immaculate and comfortable. All amenities worked great. Strong water pressure. I will certainly look to stay there again! Hamilton is a gracious host. Stayed in contact and responded to requests and questions. He even provided snacks and s’mores. Very nice touch. Lots of clean towels.

This was the cutest, vintage spot to stay! We had an absolute blast! The views were amazing and it was a unique experience tucked away. We had an infant and a two year old, it worked out fine. HOWEVER, there isn’t a bath and we didn’t take that into consideration with little ones! (It was in the description; we just overlooked it). Just an FYI for families with littles!

The home was beautiful and the kitchen was very well stocked. We had a wonderful time visiting family who own a house nearby. It has obviously been recently updated and everything was lovely.

We had a great time! This home is cozy and large at the same time and Kevin was so kind and responsive. Having a boat delivered was also a huge plus. There were so many items here that most Airbnbs don’t make available to guests (toiletries, odds and ends you may need for the kitchen, etc.) which was wonderful - it truly felt like a friend let us use their home. Great stay!

This home was amazing! We absolutely love Lewis Smith Lake and this was by far the best home we’ve ever stayed in. Our family had a wonderful time and it was so peaceful. The home and grounds have everything you would need for a relaxing retreat. Ruth is such a kind person, very attentive, and talking with her was like a sweet conversation with a friend.

The home and views are gorgeous!!! Our daughters, son-in-laws, and grandkids thoroughly enjoyed the lake and the activities it provided: fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, relaxing, reading, game playing, etc. The kitchen was well stocked. I considered taking a large crockpot, but it wasn't necessary because I found two in the cabinet. The host was friendly and communicated well. He informed us about the steep drive and limited parking near the house. However, it wasn't a problem because there was ample parking above the concrete driveway where numerous vehicles parked.

We rented the space for a couples shower (with permission). Keith, Mike and Daniel were unbelievably kind, responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay. All of the amenities were so easily accessible and such a joy to have. We heard nothing but fantastic feedback about the house from friends and family that attended our event. The link to rent the property was most certainly passed around several times. This truly was our best stay and we are so thankful for the opportunity to have stayed in such a gorgeous home with such great hosts!

From the moment we turned into the driveway we were amazed at how beautiful this property was. An excellent location near Duncan Bridge. The house was spotless and beautiful. The view is wonderful with well maintained landscaping. The kitchen is well stocked, comfortable bed and plenty of linens. The dock is spacious and the screened-in deck is very peaceful!! The host was very helpful and responsive when we had questions about docking our boat in the slip that has a hydro hoist. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!

My family rented this house for Thanksgiving and let me tell you it was perfect. We had 12 people and everyone was comfortably accommodated with room to spare. The space is large while still feeling cozy and the setting is gorgeous. Each bedroom had its own bath and all the rooms had lots of closet space. The kitchen was also perfectly stocked to cook a thanksgiving feast. Jason was a very responsive and helpful host, and i would recommend his rental to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing escape.

This home was gorgeous for our Memorial Day weekend. It easily fit our larger group, and the dock was awesome. Everything inside was so beautiful and the screened in patio was our favorite place to hangout. We will definitely come back!

We’ve stayed at Idle Days many times through the years. It’s our favorite house on Smith Lake and definitely the place we choose to stay if it’s available for our vacation dates. We love the layout of the house and it’s a great fit for families that include a range of ages or for multiple families. We love the 2 levels (with 2 kitchens) and the fact that it has 4 bathrooms. The house is incredible and is stocked with everything you might need on vacation. It’s always very clean and Tracey is a great communicator. Look forward to our return trip next year!
