Mark had a gorgeous property, perfectly appointed and pristine. He was a superb host, very responsive and so helpful. The forested lot provides a peaceful and private location just a short hike to the Shenandoah River. The surrounding natural beauty and wildlife were the highlight of our stay. This was a lovely stay! The house was clean (obsessed with the woody fresh smell of the pine) and had everything we could have needed. We even enjoyed stormy weather under the roof on the back deck!

The cabin was perfect for my wife & I’s recent weekend trip to hike/explore SNP. The cabin was super cute, comfortable, and clean. We loved the wrap around windows, deck, and hot tub. The keyless entry worked well and was super convenient The cabin is very private, however there are still other cabins/houses nearby, so you don’t feel too secluded or unsafe. On Saturday afternoon the weather did not cooperate for hiking (thunderstorms), so we picked up food in Luray (~10-15 mins away) and came back to the cabin, cuddled up on the couch and watched Netflix. They had a guest Netflix account so we didn’t have the hassle of logging into our account, or if you don’t have a Netflix account you are covered. Note: some of the pictures are outdated, there are no noisy AC window units that block your views , they have been upgraded to mini-splits in the living room and bedroom mounted jut below the ceiling which made zero noise and were easy to control the temperature in both rooms via a singl

Perfect for a weekend getaway (or longer). Very quiet and peaceful with beautiful surroundings. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with all the amenities, this is the place.

We traveled with our 2 kids (2 and 4) and like others mentioned this listing has everything you could need! The listing even had step stools my 4 year old to reach the sink to wash her own hands. The hot tub was fantastic, extremely clean and comfortable. We visited Shenendoah National Park and it was a great home base. Definitely bring your groceries as it is a very secluded area and it’s a great space to cook grill, relax and reset ! Very comfortable, clean and organized!

The house is on the top of a hill overlooking the valley...the view is amazing. Very private, very secluded, but only about 5 miles off the interstate. The host is very quick to respond to messages. This is a great house for a family trip, the layout was perfect. Everybody loved the basement most of all. The hot tub and the shuffleboard were big hits. The refrigerator and the coffee maker were excellent. I’m looking at getting the same coffee maker because we liked it so much. They could use a few more place settings of plates and silverware, a few more utensils. There’s plenty of seating and the WiFi is great. We would definitely stay there again!

This mountain top getaway was perfect! The outdoor porches were wonderful! ! The home had the perfect cozy touches with a clean style. Thoughtful care for a comfortable and relaxing escape was reflected in every corner! We had a great time! Hope to return!

Such a lovely little modern cabin in the woods! We had a wonderful time at blackbird and enjoyed the quiet location and cozy, modern decor. Close to excellent hiking in GW national forest. The hosts were very helpful in providing information for our stay.

We had a wonderful anniversary get-away at Applemoon Cabin. The cabin is very cute and cozy and so relaxing! We would definitely go back.

The home was in a private peaceful area . We thoroughly enjoyed the big yard and the two swings for taking the beautiful scenery in. We relaxed by the fire pit and loved the lit up pathway walking out to it . The two person shower was a treat. It really was pretty. After we came back from dinner we played some pool in the game room and educated my sons on the record player which delightfully brought us back in time. One night here was not enough to enjoy all this lovely home has to offer. Highly recommend staying a few days when you come!

Julia's place is an Idyllic setting - so tranquil, yet close enough to a great tavern for dinner. Amazing - we cannot wait to come back.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this property. The view was stunning, and we really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, convenient location, and spacious outdoor area—it was a perfect spot to unwind. There were a few downsides worth mentioning. The outdoor dining table shown in the listing photos wasn’t actually there, which was disappointing since we had planned to eat outside. We also reached out to the host to ask how to turn on the deck light but didn’t receive a response. Additionally, the tap water didn’t look okay to drink, so we stuck to bottled water for the weekend. Overall, it was still a positive experience, and with a few improvements, this place could be even better

We loved Sara’s place! Our plans were to hike but Mother Nature had other plans. Every morning I sat in silence and enjoyed the rain on the trees and the forest with my delicious coffee. Sara gave us wonderful suggestion for outings and hikes. The pantry and kitchen are well stocked, coffee is delicious with many options to make it your special Cuppa. The perch is perfect! We might come back in winter, we loved it so much.

We had a beautiful stay at the Lodge on the Lake! 4 days of fishing and relaxing in one of the most scenic places I’ve been. There was so much wildlife, and even with colder weather we still had a great time. Definitely want to stay again in the warmer days!

We stayed at Christina's cabin to celebrate our wedding anniversary and escape the busyness of the city. It was the perfect atmosphere to relax, unwind and connect while enjoying the idyllic farm setting. Christina gave us great personal recommendations and was extremely hospitable. She made us feel right at home!

This was the perfect place to stay for a family getaway. We hiked, enjoyed coffee out on the patio, had a fire in the fire pit and shared meals in the well appointed kitchen. The area has beautiful parks and some delicious food.

We only stayed one night at the cabin—but what a night it was! We arrived in the evening and were immediately greeted by a small herd of cows, which absolutely delighted my dairy farmer husband and our farm-loving son. After a week at the beach in a less-than-cozy house with minimal amenities, followed by a full day of walking around Monticello, this cabin felt like a warm hug. The space was incredibly comfortable—recliners everywhere (my kind of paradise!) and plenty of seating for everyone. With two full bathrooms, it made traveling with my family and brother so much easier. The peaceful, scenic view was just the cherry on top. Our kids had a great time too—it’s a wonderful spot for families. We also really appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning—a thoughtful touch from our hosts. Honestly, we kicked ourselves for only booking one night. Lesson learned… we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

This was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Gorgeous view overlooking the river! The place was well decorated and we loved listening to the rain on the skylights in the living room. The neighbors were a little closer than expected, but wasn’t really an issue. Power went out one night (area outage), and Alison was responsive and proactive to provide a location of various lamps and lights. We were already using the grill on the incredibly back deck, so we weren’t really inconvenienced by it. I do appreciate the host keeping us updated on power outage.

An incredible stay! Susan was so helpful and kind the area was the perfect place to relax, connect with nature and enjoy a quaint cute town with plenty of local charm. Beautiful Airbnb in an area rich with nature and history.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend! If I could give more stars I would and I’ll be definitely bringing my children with us next time. Everything that we needed was easily accessible and clearly labeled so we had no issues during our stay. The property was stunning and I loved reading about Jesus while looking around such a great touch. I hope God continues to bless them and provide in all the ways they need. We loved our peaceful stay. The hot tub was amazing and private. We hiked at the local state park and went to the Berkeley Springs Brewery.

We stayed for a quick half night on a trip further south. Very cool place, wish we had been able to spend more time there.
