This rare modern post war home has a style all its own. Created by Carl Strandlund in Columbus Ohio, it consisted of prefabricated porcelain enamel covered panels inside and out making it durable and easy to clean. Easing the postwar housing shortage and its maintenance free design were its selling points. Great care has been taken to reflect its true character so enjoy the well thought out floor plan and huge yard. Close to Northwestern, Gilson park beach, and downtown Chicago via car or train.

So thankful for Robin's hospitality and availability! We were in town for the Beyoncé concert and our previous Airbnb cancelled our reservation (last minute) due to issues out of everyone's control and Robin was able to host us and save our trip from falling apart! The guest house was beautiful and very spacious. We had a group of six and we all felt very at home and were overly happy with our stay. The guest house is within walking distance to train stations, and had plenty of yummy coffee/breakfast spots nearby (Cupitol, Bagel Art, Back Lot Coffee). Robin was a wonderful host and took the time to introduce himself to us shortly after arrival. It was great to meet him and gain confidence that he was committed to making certain that we had a peaceful and relaxed stay while in Chicago. Thank you, Robin!!

What a perfect spot to wake up in and return to at the end of several long days of work! Coffee in a rocker on the sun porch in the morning and an extremely comfortable bed were the ideal bookends. Emily's space is tranquil and unique - I felt like I was staying at the home of a good friend who just happened to have an extra apartment upstairs to spare! I also loved having a separate office/work space and the wifi was terrific. I hope to return the next time I'm in Evanston/Chicago for work!

We loved our stay at Efren’s place. We are a couple traveling with our 17-year-old son and 90-year-old Grandma, and everyone was happy with our rental. It was clean and well-equipped. Our son was happy to have his own room with a futon (better than sleeping in the living room). The garage parking was a nice touch.
