Buffalo Range, a "destination" Airbnb, is a working ranch nine miles south of Monument, Kansas. The surrounding open prairie has never felt a plow; horses and cattle occupy the pastures most of the year; native grasses, wildflowers, cacti, and succulents surround the homestead. We say we are "half way to everywhere in the middle of nowhere" because we're central to an amazing number of historic, geologic, recreational, photographic, and hunting sites. It will take you several days to see it all!

*Please read full description* Countryside home against the chalk rock bluffs. Conveniently located 2 miles from Lake Scott State Park. Area is rich in history. Spend your day at the lake or exploring the area, rest at night in this cozy home. Fully stocked kitchen and cozy electric fireplace. No TV or internet, but cell service is good. Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. This historic 1879 Kansas Pacific Railroad House was initially built for the Superintendent, for this section of the railroad, to live in. It was and still is perfectly located facing the railroad tracks. If you are a train enthusiast you will love it here. This house boasts remnants from the past and is decorated in the 1950’s style. There are 5 bedrooms, 1 bath, primitive kitchen, lovely living room and dining room.
