“Jim and Jo Ellen have created a perfect retreat from every day life that is tasteful, simple and is testament to their creativity. The location just set back overlooking a planted field was spectacular as it gave a wide vista from the porch. The lightening bugs in the field these last fews days were incredible and we loved watching the tentative deer too! We sat, read, hiked all over the property and relaxed on the slow moving river in the canoe for a couple of hours watching birds, fish and dragonflies galore... This place is somewhere to be savored and if you can stay three nights, as we found that extra night enabled us to totally relax. Communication with our hosts was excellent. They even leant us a plug for our phones as we had both packed USBs but no plug (yes really!). Our third night gave us a free bottle of maple syrup and we purchased a dozen fresh eggs for lunches. Dare I admit? I believe I shall miss my outside showers the most... Thanks again!”

“This place was really magical. It was so private and so peaceful. I will definitely come again. My dog got off her lead and wandered off. Jim and his kids helped to look for her, which they didn’t have to do. They helped me narrow down where to look and we found her before dark. Besides that stressful situation (which was entirely my fault), I really did get good creative juices. I will definitely come again and bring my entire family next time. So nice to have such a treasure so close to Pittsburgh.”
