A peaceful space with an outside patio and grill, perfect for relaxing at end of day. We also have a large driveway that can accommodate your boat making it easy to enjoy a day on Bangs Lake or a short 15 min trip to Fox Lake. I affectionately refer to this house as “The House That Built Me.” Referencing (of course) the title of country artist Miranda Lamberts hit song, from 2010. The lyrics couldn’t be more accurate. My name is Crystal, and this is The House That Built Me. My father bought this property in 1970. He married my mother and her two children in 1976. I was brought home from the hospital in 1977 & raised here with my siblings, until eventually we all married and left home.

Staying here felt like we were very much in our own home. It was easy to be comfortable here and there were lots of unexpected conveniences like seasonings and a wide variety of utensils, dishes, and cookware. I recommend a 10/10 and will definitely ask to stay again when we’re in the area.

Josh is a great host, very responsive. The lakehouse is a cute weekend getaway. The sunsets are gorgeous and the house is cozy and heats up well (we stayed when it was chilly outside).
