There is electricity and wi-fi internet, but was designed with the idea of being able to get away and relax. Heat and appliances are all propane.

This playful cabin offers a unique spot to unwind and explore the Schoodic peninsula and Downeast Maine. Kayaks are provided to explore island studded 462 acre Jones pond, a 10 minute walk down a trail. A 10 minute drives brings you to the less visited Schoodic section of Acadia NP, where a network of hiking and biking trails lace the coastal forests and dramatic rocky coast. Nearby Winter Harbor has shops and restaurants and even a ferry across the bay to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island.

The large deck will allow you to enjoy the sunrise and is easily accessed off the dining room area. The home has 2 bedrooms and an updated bathroom along with laundry facilities in the newly paneled basement. Enjoy the gas fireplace in the living room or turn on the air conditioning. We love to say it is centrally located - to wilderness hiking in Moosehorn NWR, to Cobscook Bay, to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, to the beautiful friendly Down East towns of Machias, Eastport and Calais. The cabin itself is built of local pine and cedar, and sits on the lakefront among towering pine and spruce trees.

Visit the many surrounding lakes and the Narraguagus River for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Hike, bike, ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, ATV on any of the many trails. Take a day trip to Acadia NP or tour the spectacular Downeast coast.

Little Green Cottage

The Little Green Cottage is a peaceful location, on the edge of a calm river, where you can frequently see turtles and frogs. Truly a place to see the night sky and experience nature. Acadia is a little over 2 hours away. Quoddy Head State Park and Campobello Island (Canada - bring your passport), is within 30 minutes. Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. We just added an office shed for those who have to work on vacation. Additional fee to rent so please request in the booking.
