Leonel's place is the reason we prefer airbnb to hotels. This little cottage in a little village high up in the mountains above the Douro valley immerses you in the experience - from the breathtaking views to the sound of birds and smells of the fruit trees that surround the house. Leonel, who lives on the property nearby, is the perfect host, extremely generous, friendly and caring he's what all airbnb hosts should aspire to be. If your'e considering visiting the Douro valley and don't mind staying a bit off the beaten path, stay here - you won't regret it!

It was a great pleasure to spend the last week at Artur’s beautiful home. The house is architecturally designed, which a sophisticated blend of the original rustic stone walls combined with the best quality modern renovations. The setting very peaceful with a gorgeous pool with Baja shelf, a cooking area and loungers. All common areas of the house inside and out feature views of the mountains and surrounding villages. The home is well appointed. The kitchen has all the equipment needed for us to cook delicious Portuguese meals each night. The bedding is good quality and the home was well stocked. The furniture and sofa were good quality. Everything was spotlessly clean. We were hosted by Arthur, and Ana, who is a very friendly local lady that helped us check in. Both of them were proactive to ensure we were happy. My favorite part of the home is the hallway to the bedrooms, with la huge garden window and decorative lighting. Thank you to our hosts, we will be back!

Filipa's converted mill is a wonderful place, hidden between the hills. Our kids enjoyed playing in the river and observing the wildlife around it. There are some great restaurants nearby and good hiking opportunities in the nearby national park. Filipa was very helpful and provided lots of recommendations for the surroundings.

Luis is very proactive and attentive. has been in contact with us throughout the stay. The house is great for large family groups.

André is always available, responds quickly and is very attentive to us, but I want to highlight D. Amelia, who was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The fact that the houses have a fence is safe for those who have a child like us. It was a few quiet days when the weather also cooperated and we could enjoy the pool, which is just spectacular! To be repeated ✌🏼☺️

We spent a week in this marvelous little house. It was just as expected, cozy, quiet, and super cute. Cristina and her family are very helpful and pleasant. It was a fantastic vacation!!! Fully recommended, a 10!!!!

The place is wonderful, between mountains and perfect for disconnecting. The house is simply spectacular, you can tell that they have put your soul in that project. It is a luxury home surrounded by nature. Materials, appliances, decoration, etc, all of the very first quality and with very good taste. We are a family of 5 and have spent Christmas at Casa da Eira Velha. Gloria's reception was unique, we had a large basket with fruit, nuts, homemade jams and local honey as well as vegetables from her orchard waiting for us! Any questions we had Gloria resolved it in less than 30 minutes. The house is dreamy in a place to disconnect and rest!

The house is very beautiful and clean, for our group of 5 people it was an excellent find. Large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and the terrace. The beds and mattresses are comfortable for sleeping, there is a lot of equipment in the kitchen for cooking. The trip to Vila Real takes only 15 minutes on the highway. It should be noted that some things in the house could be repaired, but they are also small things. You have to bring some coffee capsules and laundry products to use the respective machines.

Host was excellent to communicate with . Views were spectacular and the garden and surroundings were very tranquil . An abundance of fruit to pick from the orchard and the Pool was clean and maintained. A great place which is so pet friendly. The only downside is the barking of dogs around the property which at night may disturb the light sleeper . Overall a superb place to stay .

We got together with 16 friends for a weekend and we had plenty of room for everyone. Despite the rain that fell on us and not being able to enjoy the garden and the pool, we were not overwhelmed and we could also use the picnic area downstairs. On the negative side, there were some minor problems, such as the internet connection, which just that weekend did not work, or the location of the new barbecue is problematic when it rains, but nothing serious.

this is the get way off the beaten path way to visit the Douro Valley. way up in the hills above towns right in the middle of the vineyards. about 20 minutes to town. Amazing views and surroundings! Bring your sense of adventure and a smaller car. Would definitely stay there again
