The house is large and extremely clean , comfortable rooms with good bedding, very well-equipped kitchens. The garden is very pleasant and well maintained. We did not enjoy the barbecue area, but the space looked great. The location is ideal in a quiet residential area, but Braga is really not far away, and it's easy to get there quickly. As well as Porto which is about 45 minutes away. Finally, Cidália is very friendly, super responsive and really concerned about the well-being of guests: a great host!

A group of 6 had a wonderful 2 night stay, the photo's and description of the property and its surrounds are very accurate. Communication prior & during was excellent & restaurant recommendations were very helpful. The attention to detail & history of the property takes you back in time & makes for a memorable stay. Thank you Marta & Daniel for sharing your beautiful farmhouse 10/10 we would definitely recommend.

We loved this house and the location and all the effort that was given from Pedro’s team to make us welcome. Thanks for the cake, the HUGE fruit bowl (that we nearly managed to consume), and the sweets, water etc. you thought of everything. The house isn’t in a tourist location but that is its charm, it’s so peaceful with a bar and supermarket in easy reach, perfect. You get some great recommendations , our favourites were Barzin, a ten minute walk, but the best fish restaurant has to be Oburaco in Esposende, the good was amazing. There is also S2 locally, it’s very good. We visited, Braga, Porto, Barcelos(Thursday is huge market day), Esposende. The house is located perfectly and we did not hire cars, instead used Uber or the local taxi company. We were a party of 8 and the house was large enough to allow peace in the garden, whilst others watched TV, or some used the gym, and others used the bikes. Note the bikes are great but there can be a forceful wind to fight!

Manu is a very welcoming host, with plenty of good tips on sightseeing (cellars on the Douro...) and must-see places. Recommended without hesitation. The proposed accommodation is as described and has plenty of space (very well equipped and very clean)

We had a lovely weeks stay at Casa da Horta. The pool and views from the pool area were amazing and the children enjoyed playing on the trampoline and exploring the grounds. The apartment itself was really well furnished and clean and we all loved the large shower. The position of the apartment at the top of the site meant it wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues (as per Vania’s description) but for us it just meant that we walked off some the pastel de natas and we appreciated the particularly good views from our patio area. Guimaraes was only 12 mins drive away with its pretty historic town and Porto was an hour and ten minutes on the train (with one train every hour) and cost us around 22 euros return for the whole family. We also went on the cable cars at Guimaraes and the Funicular at Braga, both of which our children really enjoyed. We had a lovely holiday and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the apartments to anyone considering a holiday in the area.

We had a wonderful time in Portugal, and Antonio's place was a perfect base for our day trips. The house was lovely with lots of space and beautiful decor. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to cook in. The gardens had lots to explore, and fruit trees and a vegetable patch. Our children loved the house and we all had lots to do, including a playroom with loads of toys, dozens of boardgames, and just really nice spots to sit and read. Antonio was super friendly, very easily contactable, very quick to respond, and gave us lots of nice suggestions. We've had an amazing time at his amazing family home!

We had a pleasant stay in Manuel's house. We stayed 8 days with my family. My children being very young (1 year and 2 years), we enjoyed the house for a long time! It's suitable for children. Be careful with the pool around which there is no protection for the little ones. So you have to open your eyes. But other than that everything is fine. The view from the house is beautiful. Manuel is very responsive and flexible. A housekeeper visits almost daily to help us maintain the house. Thank you Manuel and maybe see you soon! Nicolas

Casa located in a quiet place ideal for a group or family vacation. All rooms are suites, which is a bright spot for bathroom privacy. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need at the level of appliances (toaster, coffee machine (delta), microwave, dishwasher) as well as dishwasher for a group of 10 people. The whole decoration is very beautiful and thought out. Outside spaces are large and well arranged, the space for the barbecue is impeccable. It is undoubtedly a place to visit again!

Villa is really amazing and definitely fits the description and photos. The sunsets and the lighthouse, which you could marvel at every night from the balcony, are a dream. It's perfect for guests who want a quiet environment. A car is definitely needed and can be safely parked in the garage. The amenities of the entire place are excellent. There are even two extra guest bathrooms. In addition, communication with Portugal Active was always quick and friendly. We lacked nothing.

Impeccable home, good location, 3min from the tram and 30min walk to the center of Porto, easy arrival. Pleasant garden for breakfast and aperitifs. Homes perfect for a large group. Comfort bedding.

To everyone who’s thinking of renting this house; if you’re having doubts, this is the sign to go for it. I’m speaking on behalf of my family and myself. We were a group of 8 who had the lovely opportunity to spend New Year’s Eve in this beautiful space. To start with, pictures don’t do justice to the gem you find when you pass through the entrance door. The house seems like it blends or comes out of the mountain itself. Maintaining original external features of what it seemed an old house that was carefully blended into the newer structure of the main house. When you enter you have the feeling of being at home and from any of the panoramic windows to the west side of the house you get the breathtaking views of the Douro river They’ve thought of all details and making it a perfectly functional house to not have to leave for as long as you plan to stay there. Having the breakfast service is also another extra service we were really happy to have thank you for the lovely experience.

A great place for my group of seven. It was beautiful, clean, and had enough space for all of us. Walkable location and right around the corner from a market. Hosts were responsive and able to quickly resolve a key situation that we ran into.

Fantastic accommodation. Beautiful gardens, pool and house. Marcus is a very good host, and looked after us so well - bringing us little gifts like fresh orange juice just made the experience so much better. One of our children really wanted to keep a huge lemon he’d found in the garden but we told him he would have to ask. Instead of just saying no, or yes, Marcus said “sure, but why don’t we make some lemonade together!”. Just so thoughtful and kind. The house is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. Lots of attention to detail. Pool is very large and everything is perfectly clean. Marcus and Rick really did go out of their way to ensure our stay was successful without ever being intrusive, so please don’t hesitate to book!

What an EXTRAORDINARY accommodation Casa Marmelo was for our group of 8 adults when visiting the Douro valley !!! Host Kate was super to work -- right from our initial contact for information through our date of departure. What an excellent WELCOME GUIDE she provided before our arrival - with valuable tips and suggestions for activities and dining throughout the area. Housekeeper Helene too could not have been more kind, charming, and helpful. What delicious breakfasts she made for us each morning. The entire property was kept so clean and tidy. What a memorable time we all had -- we all hope to be back!

Marisa’s property was absolutely perfect for our family (10 adults). The individual apartments were lovely, clean and comfortable and gave everyone their own personal space while also providing a common space for us to gather. We were greeted promptly on our arrival with a tour and clear instructions. (And a nice welcome basket of goodies!) The location was also great, giving us access to restaurants and attractions. Very walkable to most places. Highly recommend this property!

Floriane and Christophe's property was the perfect setting for our extended family group. We were a party of 10 spanning three generations and the split of individual apartments ensured we didn't get in each other's way. The air-conditioned apartments were tastefully decorated, well-equipped and extremely comfortable. All fixtures and fittings were new and each apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival. The large pool is surrounded by a beautifully established garden with towering cactuses and a winding wisteria. The outside dining area accommodated everyone and came complete with two BBQs. A large supermarket is located within a short drive, as is a train station with direct links to central Porto. The city and the airport are also accessible by car within 40 minutes. The inland town of Amarante is also well worth a visit. In summary, Floriane and Christophe were excellent hosts with a delightful property. We hope to return soon.

A group of friends and I stayed during Holy Week. He was always attentive and available for whatever we needed, the house was very nice and cozy; the property was spectacular, a shame the rain prevented us from using the pool, with hosts like this it's a pleasure to travel, 100% recommended. The house is super spacious and well cared for, great for large groups. The garden and pool area are super pleasant areas. The hostess was very helpful and always available when necessary. The house has everything we need, the atmosphere is quiet and we love that the house is so well-equipped with matrecos, ping pong table, barbecue area and even pool buoys. I recommend your stay!

It was a pleasure to spend a few days in Ralf's place. It's a wonderful house in a unique setting!! We had the bad luck that during all our days it rained a lot but thanks to the comforts of the house we were able to spend it fantastically and enjoy each space. But the best part was certainly not the house, nor was the environment Ana and Ralf who were aware of us at all times. Thank you for that💖💖

A wonderful property. The pool was amazing. We had everything we needed. Luis was great in answering questions we had. He looked after the pool maintenance while we were there. Would love to come back again.

Accommodation to enjoy it at all times, every corner very cared for and with many nice details. Located outside Amarante, in a very quiet area. Unbeatable barbecue and pool area, ideal for spending a few days with the family. The house is not very big, but it is well used and lacks nothing. On the other hand, Paulo's attention is worthy of praise, caring at every moment of our well-being, and counting on the help of wonderful neighbors who made us the stay very pleasant and pleasant. Without a doubt, the quality/price is more than recommended, we would repeat with our eyes closed now that we know Paulo and his surroundings. And another thing, let's discover the green wine of the area, how rich! 🤤😃 Thank you very much for everything, we will come back.
