Cheerful 3 bedroom cottage on the Allegheny River

We built the summer cottage in 2006, for a summer home stayed on. We lived in the cottage 8 years when we wanted a bigger house. We love it year around. We are isolated with 3 neighbors (not close) and the river at our front door. Good boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming , hiking, bird watching (with a eagle nest across the river). December through February, it is best if you come with 4 wheel drive. Having said that , we keep the road plowed and the hill sanded.

Built in 1872 Historic Step Back In Time!

Vintage Victorian home built in 1872 with a warm historic feel. Beautiful view of the Allegheny river. Kitchen w/island seating for 4 and two additional tables. Large formal dining room. Two cozy elegant living rooms. There are 2 full baths, 1st floor w/large walk in shower & 2nd floor has a bathtub/shower and a 1/2 bath off large bedroom. Plenty of towels & blankets. All essentials. There are several TV's that you can stream with the Wifi. Due to Covid-19 no more than 10 guests are allowed.

The house is a ten minute walk from the Gerard hiking trail in Oil Creek state park, and it was an easy twenty minute walk to the brewery in Titusville . We appreciated the friendly communication and the coziness of the house. It was so nice to relax on the couch and watch Netflix after a long day of hiking. We definitely plan to return :)

Wow what an absolutely wonderful experience staying at this beautiful historic home. We spent the first while just exploring all the rooms and reading about the history of the area that is tastefully dotted around the house. We loved all the special wee nooks and crannies and if we could transport this back to New Zealand with us then it would be a done deal. It's obvious the owner has put considerable thought into restoring and preserving the unique details of the house while ensuring it is cozy but with modern facilities. One of the highlights was definitely the outdoor area with the big fish pond. It was such fun to enjoy a drink out there while watching the fish swim around. Totally relaxing!! The hosts were gracious and responsive, and everything was spotless and well-maintained. This place is a perfect blend of history and comfort. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome and relaxing getaway. Thanks so much for the experience.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!! I had the priviledge of being the FIRST GUEST in this FABULOUS 2 bedroom space in the heart of downtown Franklin!! This was an unplanned stay with a need that arose unexpectedly. The hosts, Jeremy and Julie worked feverishly to complete and prepare the unit to meet my needs and I COULD NOT BE MORE GRATEFUL for their willingness to do what it took to make the unit available for my 10-day stay!!! You will not find more RESPONSIVE and HELPFUL hosts! The pictures showcase the marriage of modern and historic in this 2 BR 2nd floor apartment. Each and every need was anticipated and every detail carefully thought through. The kitchen is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly want/need to prepare your own meals. The coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar is a fun and welcomed touch!! Guests have a front row seat for dowtown activities, with area restaurants, shops, a theatre, music venues, two gorgeous city parks, area churches, and more in walking distance!!

We stayed one night on our way back to CT from MI with our 10 month old and dog. Jessi and Michael were very friendly and responsive. The apartment was immaculate and decorated very well. There were snacks stocked for us when we arrived. Our baby and dog loved seeing the horses in the backyard. We do a trip once or twice a year so I’m sure we’ll be back. Highly recommend!
