Cottage vacation rentals in Valley Head

Came to take our 8.5 year old dog to see mountains. The Garden Cottage was squeaky clean, comfy cozy, and fantastic. The flowers and plants were gorgeous; I felt like a hobbit in the shire (high compliment). We cooked every night and never were without. Excellent WiFi, quiet area. The rooms don’t have ceilings so you can hear the TV In the living room or room next to you but honestly, yall will all be tuckered out. It gave it a summer camp vibe and each room had its own fans that would drown out noise if you wanted it too (plus AC). We will certainly be back And sharing this gem with our friends.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was very neat and the hot tub was a great bonus. Also, the whole area is private and cozy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Claudia did a great job of staying in touch with us when needed.

We stayed here for my daughter’s spring break and had a great weekend! The hot tub was great and we toasted s’mores in the fire pit in the back. We also went and visited DeSoto Park just a short drive away for a fun day of hiking and hit up Mentone Market for some pizza afterwards. Such a great place for a relaxing getaway!

Great place for a quiet, peaceful getaway and great hosts!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Airbnb feels like a secluded mountain retreat, but is still within reasonable distance to the city. Beautiful views, and while we weren’t able to find time to use the hot tub, that was an excellent amenity. The hosts communicated well and we’re accommodating to our requests! Would absolutely stay here again, especially as a getaway!

My husband and I came here for our 7 year anniversary. It was lovely and peaceful. I love the imperfections of the old cottage and its cleanliness. The hot tub, kayaks, and views are lovely The kitchen was adequately stocked and beds were clean and comfy. Shower was large and hot and the washer and dryer were very helpful! The house was stocked with everything needed. We will definitely be back. The town of Mentone was just down the road and we loved the areas. There was even a gas station at the end of the street that was very convenient as well! No regrets! Just a lovely vibe and great getaway destination!

The NEW Overlook was the absolute perfect retreat from my hectic life back home, and just what I needed. I could not have asked for a more perfect accommodation or more perfect location. The view is breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. I experienced some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life from the hot tub on the back deck. Incredible! Although there are cabins on either side of the house, it is still so private. I love that you’re far enough away from things to feel so removed, yet only a 10-minute drive to charming Mentone. One thing to note: if you need any special provisions (gluten-free etc), I would highly recommend bringing those with you, as Mentone has very little. Back to the house: the kitchen was very well-appointed and lacked nothing. I loved the living room fire place, as well as the fire pit outside (reminder: pack your own firewood). I actually loved my stay so much I extended and I cannot wait to return soon!

This was a beautiful, quiet, or of the way location. Just what we were looking for! the kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed for cooking for the weekend. we will definitely recommend!

This is a great place to stay if you’re looking for peace and quiet in a cozy space. The beds were comfortable. The stream and waterfall in the backyard were the best part, in our opinion. Our main reason for visiting the area was Ruby Falls and Rock City Gardens, which were awesome! Being native Floridians it really boggles the mind! This house is about 30 minutes away from all the go to places. But it did meet our needs in providing a change of pace and scenic views while being dog friendly.

Enjoyed my stay. working in the area, I would stay again.

Rogers place was so peaceful and he was an amazing host that was extremely flexible and kind. Would more than recommend him.

We rent AirBNB several times a year, this is going in the books for our very favorite one! Pam & her husband are super nice, had great recommendations. The house adorable, the property beautiful ! I can't say enough good! We'll be back!

Denises' place was a little piece of Heaven. To start Denise was highly responsive and a clear communicator. I was traveling with my 83 yr old mother whom can't maneuver many steps so, I needed to find a place that was easily accessible. This was certainly it! No steps, beautifully appointed, clean shower, and bathrooms on main. The beds and linens were as soft and as comfortable as my own at home. The home is nestled at the bottom of the mountain right up against the bedrock. They have actually built the decking around the bedrock which was a wonderful little feature that showed such creativity. The kitchen was Very Well appointed and very clean. Denise had left homemade Molasses cookies in the freezer for us to heat up. This was a big hit with Mom and her friends who came to visit her! :) The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful and definitely higher end. The entire home was decorated quite tastefully with clearly much thought behind it. We will definitely be back to this lovely

We chose this place because we love Mentone, DeSoto St Park, just the whole area and I was looking for enough room for 6 of us and our dog. Our doodle vacations with us and this house was perfect with a large front yard on a quiet street. It was a meet in the middle place for our group. We like to cook, play games, puzzle, hike while we are here and Misti's place had great spaces especially for games and puzzles and was so cozy with the propane heaters and fireplace. Our power went out during the night in a storm but we were able to stay until it was restored because of the light from all the windows and we were plenty warm with the fireplace. We made use of the generous gift for breakfast for 2 at Hatter's in Mentone. Reservations are recommended for the best experience and we really had a nice time. It is a wonderfully unique place and the food was great. I loved that this was not the cookie cutter cabin but a beautiful cottage with attention to detail. We would happily return.

The duplex across the street from Finster's Paradise Garden was cute and funky and just as advertised. We would highly recommend it for a couple or 3 people. We had a few small glitches--the lockbox did not work properly and the TV was not set up to receive any stations when we arrived--but Mary, at the office, helped us immediately with both problems. We liked the large selection of Keurig coffee and tea pods, and there were packets of Swiss Miss chocolate and oatmeal available. There was not a wide selection of dishes and glasses/cups, but certainly enough for 2 people. We enjoyed our access to the garden, even at night after the office was closed; it almost felt like a private garden just for us. Summerville is about an hour from Cloudland Canyon State Park which is a pleasant drive and has wonderful views and hiking trails of various difficulty. It was raining on the day we went to the state park, so we had a nice lunch at the Cleag restaurant, part of the McElmore resort.

Place was very cute, I thought there would be a better view of the mountains judging by photos but it was also very cute and clean inside, had nice smart tvs to watch stuff. I honestly had a great time and it was perfect for what we needed.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of towels and blankets. We loved that it was a pet friendly home. And THE VIEW!! The view was incredible. We were able to watch the sun set each evening from the deck.

Absolutely the best place I have booked through the app. Such a beautiful homie feeling place that’s extremely private and peaceful. Very long distance from any stores. Definitely deep in the wooded area. But very much so worth it! There are a TON of fishing spots down the entire road to the place. It’s so cute almost like a small little village of tiny homes. Picnic areas! EVEN a FISH CLEANING STATION!!! Pavilion to park your car under even large enough for trucks and long enough to keep your boat loaded! DEFINITELY recommend! Will be telling everyone about this spot! The host was 1000/10 Definitely will be visiting again!

It was such a cute little house and perfect for me, my bestie, and our kiddos.

Great weekend stay in this tiny house. Beautiful surroundings (woods without other dwellings in sight from porch). Owner was quick to respond and home was well put together for what it was. Would happily come back anytime of year.

The cabin was perfect for our family Christmas getaway!! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare great meals. The location is secluded but still close enough to get to stores if you forget something and there is a lot of amazing hiking within a short drive of the cabin. Misti was an amazing host and super proactive in communications and everything was very clear. I would highly recommend! And they decorated for Christmas (even with a tree) so we felt right at home!

100% recommend going here very peaceful and so nice to be right next to the lake enjoyed some fishing will still relaxing with the outdoors in peace. Would 100% go back. If your a vet and struggling with ptsd or tbi and wanna quiet relaxing place to go this is it

We had a great stay with our kids at Derek's place. Everything was as described. The house was really clean and beautiful. We had fun playing the available board games. Located close to Ruby Falls and Rock City which were two of our planned destinations. Derek was a very communicative host. Overall, we were pleased with all aspects of our stay.
