Vacation rentals in Toyooka, Shimoina District

A rural retreat, off the tourist path, but easily accessible by train from Tokyo. We were keen for some rural Japan after quite a few stops in urban centres. The house is in a quiet, unspoilt setting. You can do short walks from the house that can include views of Mount Fuji down the valley. There's other places you can pop into too, such as the Owl Cafe or the wonderful deli/shop at the petrol station up the road. The house itself has kept its rustic and traditional appearance and features, while also having very functional equipment, from Wifi to everything you'd need for cooking. Some great places to read and relax in, from the garden to by the wood burner. We did not have car which was fine - it's just 6 minutes by taxi from the station, but a car would allow you to explore further afield. Ryo the host was very helpful with answering questions rapidly and clearly. I would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Jiro's House. The host was friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and were responsive to any queries we had. We enjoyed having the garden as it is a lovely and peaceful area. The house amenities were plentiful and it was a comfortable stay. Thank you for a amazing stay 😊

At first glance, the house looks dated. It is a traditional, rural Japanese home that reminds me of my grandparents' house. While the furnishing and facilities are slightly old, it is still a comfortable house nonetheless. The toilet is modern and new so that is a plus. The house is also conveniently located along the main road with a couple of food options like KFC, Sukiya and Family Mart within walking distance.

4月上旬のまだ寒い時期にうかがいましたが、薪ストーブを使用させていただくことができ、床暖房の設備も整っていたので本当に暖かく快適に過ごす事ができました。薪の用意もあり説明書も的確でしたので、初心者でもトライしたくなります。薪をくべる初体験ができ、子供も喜んでおりました。　　　　　　　　　　　　　まだ咲いていませんでしたが，庭に大きな桜の木があります。GWあたりになりますでしょうか、咲いたらまた素晴らしいロケーションになると思います。 またヤマガラなどの小鳥が沢山きます。滞在している間にリスやキツツキも、目の前の木にきて、楽しませてくれました。夜は晴れていれば星を楽しむことができます。周りに電気がありませんから、とにかく星がよく見えます！ 夫はギターを持っていきましたので居間で演奏などしておりましたが、隣の家との距離も適度にありますので他に迷惑が掛かることはありません。かといってぽつんとお家が建っているわけではなく、明かりの見えるお宅も近くに何軒も見え、夜も安心して過ごせました。 滞在するのに必要なものは全て用意されています。困る事は何一つありませんでした。パジャマ、化粧道具さえ持ってくれば大丈夫です。車で6分くらい走れば「たてしな自由農園」につくので食材はほぼ揃います。炊飯器・電子レンジ・オーブントースター・パン焼き機・電気圧力料理鍋等もありますし、手の込んだお料理をしたい方にもおすすめです。とにかく非常に心地よい空間で、憧れの別荘生活をプチ体験したような気分です。また違う時期に絶対うかがいたいと思います。本当に楽しいひとときをありがとうございました✨

Yuki’s place is such a great place to stay in! The view is superb when the weather is nice, Mount Fuji can be seen so clearly just from the master bedroom window and garden! I was lucky enough to enjoy an afternoon with a nice view, without having to fight for a photo spot in the crowd in all the tourist spots. Despite the view, the property itself is also great and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, and I was surprised by the coffee bean and breakfast ingredients prepared by Yuki! The bathroom was nice with a bathtub, and the yuzu shampoo and body wash smell very soothing, we really like it. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who would like to enjoy some tranquility with the view of Mount Fuji!

The hospitality of the owner 覚広さん is great! There is a cleaning and trash pick up service done by the owner. Additionally, since we stayed during the winter, the gas-powered heating machines were a life-saver. Finally, we were very happy that there is a pot in which we were able to easily prepare food for our big group.

C'était parfait, nous aurions voulu rester plus longtemps 🤩 Nous reviendrons une prochaine fois avec plaisir si possible. La vue sur Fuji en se promenant sur le pont est magnifique !!!
