Absolutely amazing. Beautiful view of the beach and surrounding area. We got lucky and saw the northern lights! The place was super cozy. Loved the extra effort the hosts put in to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a dog bed, doggy treats and board games. The Christmas tree and bottle of Prosecco were a much appreciated bonus. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

This is a really unique stay and I spent a good part of my time there looking out at sea wondering when I would next be able to come back. So that should tell you how much I liked it! It’s at a lighthouse, so as you would expect, it’s at the end of a long road (which is very bumpy in places!). Then you get to the cosy house, with a wood fire, and well stocked kitchen with welcome treats. Alan is very friendly as are the dogs and the chickens! My child loved feeding them every morning. The fresh farm eggs were such a treat. Cantick Head itself is stunning and we loved being in the hot tub and sauna. Note to other guests- all these are wood powered so stock up on firewood before you arrive (you can buy bags at the shop next to the Lyness ferry). My mum took one of the bikes out and we all enjoyed walking the coastline. This is a special stay, don’t hesitate to book!

Absolutely fantastic location, with fantastic scenery nearby. Had some wonderful walks, literally behind the property. The BBQ area was fantastic like the hot tub. I can’t say much more, but I will be looking to return ASAP Matthew is a fantastic host and nothing seems to be too much of a problem. Loved the place, oh and the Highland cows are awesome.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. The place is super cozy, with a lovely fireplace that made evenings feel extra special. The kitchen was fully equipped and really great for cooking, and having a proper dining room added a nice touch — we could actually sit and enjoy our meals together. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. We slept well, the beds were comfy, and the whole area was peaceful with just the sound of the river nearby. The hot tub and fresh air were the cherry on top. Huge thanks to the host — very friendly and quick to respond. Would definitely come back!

Probably the best Christmas we have had for a while. All the stress taken out of it by the hosts, the house was beautifully decorated for the season, two wrapped presents and a hamper of goodies. We felt thoroughly spoilt! The cabin is exquisite and we would love to come back. It was wonderful for the dogs too, completely fenced in around the cabin so no fears of escapees! We loved everything about it!!

This was an absolutely beautiful stay. We booked a mini break in Scotland not expecting the most beautiful holiday. The lodge was brilliant with all the things we needed. Loch Mogdale provided as an amazing walk and a nearby town called Tain had a brilliant takeaway that we would recommend! The breathtaking views from your bed encouraged us to get up and explore! Would recommend this stay to anyone.

Lovely cottage in easy reach of local amenities and golf club. We all thought it was great.

Old hall is in a fabulous location with beautiful walks and a lovely, swimmable beach accessible from the door. the house is comfortable, fully equipped, scrupulously clean and Sandra is a very responsive host ☺️ we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. top tip: we did need to use our eye masks as the room is quite light with the early sun.

The time at the cottage was incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed every second there. Peter was incredibly helpful, super nice and had great recommendations for our time in the cottage. The cottage was totally beautifully decorated, cozy and everything was thoughtful. From the hot water bottle, to the firewood, good equipment in the kitchen... We were really happy and already miss life there! We would come back any time and fell a little more in love with Scotland!

What an absolute dream of a place to stay. Recently fully renovated and it is simply stunning. Minutes from the center of Wick and just off the NC 500, Drumdry was an ideal base for exploring the far northeastern corner of Scotland. The cottage was situated among beautiful farm fields and our son loved saying hi every morning to the sheep outside. And I can’t say enough how wonderful the owner is. She not only was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived, she also thoughtfully brought us a bunch of toys for our son to play with and feel more at home. I literally don’t think you could ask for a better host. Indeed our whole experience at Drumdry was so lovely it has reset the bar for what a 5 star stay is. I couldn’t recommend a stay here highly enough!

The views from this house are stunning and second to none! The house itself is really a special place and you can really feel the love and care that has gone into every item. Would definitely recommend to anyone and visit again if possible. This place is a real gem!

Everything was perfect from start to finish. Words cannot describe the location of the old Byre and the surrounding area. Louise and her husband Bob made us feel so welcome and we just didn’t want to leave.We can’t wait to return.

Fabulous cottage a short walk from a pristine beach . Everything was spotlessly clean at the cottage, lovely garden which suited the dogs. The cottage has everything you would need, and the wonderful weather meant we could use the garden furniture and pizza oven.

Absolutely stunning place in an unbelievable location . A place to totally switch off and unwind with a view you could never tire off . Weather we had was unreal blue skies but house could cope with all weather's . Everything you need was there and Fiona , Ian and roddy were on hand when required . Definitely will return . If you're in doubt don't be ...its a stunning place . Thank you again for everything.

A beautiful property in a beautiful part of Scotland. We felt very comfortable and at home at Firthview. Immaculately clean and with great facilities, we wouldn't hesitate to return.

House was warm and comfortable, on the edge of the village in a peaceful cul de sac. Easy parking close to the front door. Kevin was easy to contact and helpful when there were problems with finding the location and subsequently when we needed to change our plans.

Exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful and quiet. Would definitely book again.

Atlantic View is a beautifully kept property with amazing views north. We loved our stay here. The property is well equipped with everything we needed and communication with Cheryl was fast and helpful. It is a lovely spacious property, just suitable for us 4 guests. We enjoyed breakfast in the garden a couple of times as the weather was so beautiful too! A great place to stay. I highly recommend it. Thank you Cheryl.

Best airbnb stay ever. Sylia’s cottage is really special. Nestled among the sheep farms on a hill overlooking the sea, it is quiet and calm with an incredible view. The interior is cozy and nicely decorated with local art. I immediately felt at home. The cottage had everything I needed — comfy beds, kitchen necessities, walk-in shower, all boxes ticked. I was there for a long stay while doing some family research and the larger table was a perfect spot to write up notes and organize photos on my computer. Syvia is a great communicator and has the best guest book I’ve seen with plenty of local recommendations. She went above and beyond to connect me to the local community. Bonus: I saw the northen lights from the window while I was there! It was the perfect retreat and I was sad to leave it.

Excellent decor. You can tell they have refurbished. Quiet,friendly fishing village. Co-op close by. Open til 10. Need to update directions for using stove. First time visitors might not know how to lock doors. Must eat at Mirage. Might leave a plug for US electronics. Nice touch with milk and bread. Perfect place for 2 or 3 golfers. Near Brora and Dornoch. Would definitely stay there again.

Archway Cottage is a very attractive steading building with glorious views, it had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable, I only wish we’d been able to stay longer!
