Named after a local deity NAL DEO, Naldhera was among the famous spots of Lord Curzon, erstwhile viceroy of India during British Raj. Naldhera's naturally plain fields amidst mountains were perfect for a playfield and in 1905 it was carve into a 9 hole golf course. It is one of the only few Golf courses set up at such a high altitude. Later it was expanded into an 18 hole course and development work is underway to make it a world class gold course. For those who are not into golfing and take advantage of horse rides and enjoy the view of satluj river through pine trees. Personally, I have many wonderful childhood memories from Naldhera Golf course and I visit whenever i get a chance.
