A museum of sorts, large open planned area that can be walked around to view how mining originated in Kal. This place has been open, closed and open again to the public due to funding issues but I believe it to hold the essence of what mining for gold is all about. Worth the trip, take a couple of hours at least.

The site is very large and includes replica buildings, original tools & equipment etc from the gold rush days & beyond. There are several informational videos about different aspects of mining, over 25 diff walk thru exhibits, two massive haul trucks/diggers for photos on and inside the cabs, along with a gold panning area for everyone to try their luck.
