Benicia is the original 1st Capital of California in 1851. The Original Benicia State Capital Building is iconic, beautiful, and historic. At the corner of 1st & G Streets, it is right downtown, easy to get to and a "must see" for Visitors to Benicia.

Benicia was once the capitol of California. The old building and grounds are a nice place to wonder for a little bit of history.

The museum was educational and reminded me that at one time, Benicia was the capital of California at one point. The docents were extremely nice and made the visit pleasant. Highlight of the visit was walking the small garden. Though it's in the middle of old Benicia, it's still quiet and calming.
