If you ever get the chance, seize it with both hands and stay at Simon’s place! The location is exceptional, every detail is thought out, its stylish with beautiful art, lovely furnishings and at the same time is completely comfortable. Simon is very welcoming, space abounds and poochies are welcome (with prior arrangements). Truly, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough and will be back there very soon! Thanks Simon, M

Peaceful eco-lodge near Abel Tasman

FionaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved our stay at Eric’s. It is a perfect base for exploring Abel Tasman which we did. Sharing the kitchen worked well and we met people from all over the world. It is always lovely to chat to people who also love travelling. There was plenty of space to sit outside and the gardens were beautiful. It did look slightly different to the photos as they were obviously taken a few years ago and lots of the bushes etc have now grown quite a bit but I was still able to recognise it from the photos. Breakfast is plentiful with eggs from Barb’s chickens and lots of options of bread, pastries and cereals. The bed was massive and the shower super powerful! We would definitely recommend and will visit again if we manage to return to NZ!

#6 The Queen + Single Room $147 for 2 people

We arrived at Ghost Lodge after a few long days of riding. We had booked the beach side hot tub to soak our weary bones that evening. Simon met us and showed us around, it is the perfect spot and has been renovated to perfection, down to every detail. Plenty of spaces to chill, relax or chat with other guests. A fabulous beach setting, a well designed and equipped kitchen, and a lovely bathroom. Safe parking for motorbikes even chain wax on hand if required! Highly recommend staying here and a soak in the hot tub, we saw heaps of stars and satellites (including the star link) it’s still warm enough for a bath in the morning watching the sunrise - perfect start to the day. A gorgeous place all round.

Five Star luxury for two, in Christchurch Central

JeffRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Very neat and spacious accommodation that is within easy walking distance of the center of Christchurch activities. The sitting room and bedroom were nicely appointed and had high quality sheets and towels. It felt very private and chill despite the fact it’s next to downtown. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus.

Lighthouse Suite - Panoramic Lake Views

CamiRating, 5 stars16 months ago
If this place is available, book it! My husband and I stayed three nights during our honeymoon and could not get over the majestic views from the window. There are beautiful murals of NZ nature in the sitting room and bathroom that added extra charm. The king bed is very comfortable. The room and communal spaces do not have a true kitchen so as long as you’re not hoping to cook your own meals, this airbnb has it all. We will definitely return next time we visit Queenstown.

Right on top of the Bay Hill in the CBD Timaru

MichaelRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
The "unit" was exactly as the website describes and shown in the pictures. It is a very old Hotel in the middle of Timaru; can hardly get more central, with good views of the beach and park from the front verandah. But it is an old hotel which is in the process of slowly being renovated, so there are a few areas in need of repair, but these areas have no impact on the room/area where we were accommodated. The room itself was reasonably large, with an adequate shower, separate, potentially communal "kitchen" - although we had it to ourselves. I am not sure if that is the policy of the owner. We were given two drink vouchers to a local restaurant which we did go to, and had a great meal. A bonus was meeting the host's mother who is a great water colour artist and some of her work was on display. Unfortunately the host was called away on the day we arrived, so we didn't get to chat to them about their "work in progress". Am looking forward to that when next we stay in Timaru.
A cozy sleeping area features two twin beds, each dressed in dark gray comforters and topped with white towels. Soft light is provided by wall sconces on either side of the beds, while a large window allows natural light to fill the room.

Studio Twin Room at Samhil Motor Lodge

AlanRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a great overnight stay after our long haul flight. The motel was a 15minute bus ride from the airport with a stop right outside the motel. There was a mini store across the road so able to get a meal ingredients so a decent meal in the room.Otherwise plenty restaurants on the street. That same bus stop was the route to the city centre and the beautiful park was only 100 metres away. The room was clean comfy and a good shower. The guy at reception was very nice and helpful

Rilla gave us a tour of the hotel, which was really interesting. She and Bernie are excellent hosts, making great progress on the renovation and restoration of this historic Timaru hotel. Our room was large and comfortable, with access to a shared kitchen for basic meal preparation. Handy to The Bay snd some very good eateries. We enjoyed our 4 nights and would definitely stay again.
