Wow! This place was above expectations, absolutely beautiful cottage and facilities. The cottage itself is so spacious and finished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean. The grounds and facilities on offer are superb. The location is stunning and perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas, so many places to visit. We’re already planning our next stay, thank you for a perfect stay!

Lovely stay over the New Year period. Great location with just a short walk into Pocklingto where there are lots of places to eat and drink. Would recommend.

Myself, 9 others and 1 small dog booked on of Sue's fantastic cottages for a reunion weekend. Sue was very easy to communicate with, gave us the guidebook ahead of time virtually for any queries (we were very interested in the pizza oven and games room) Facilties were excellent, we were lucky that no other cottages on the site (only 3 others) were in use during our stay, so had free roam of the site and facilties. The local recommendations were brilliant. We went to the old black bull down the road for dinner on the first night and then again for roast dinner on Sunday - mega The house itself is just as shown in the photos, more than comfortable to sleep and house 10 of us for the weekend. Special mention to the hottub, (which is private for your house and I believe comes with all houses) and to Paul who was more than helpful coming to our rescue and reviving out pizza night when we experienced some issues with the oven. 10/10 would go again.

The house was perfect for my 50th celebration with family ( 6 adults, 6 kids and one dog), the garden lovely, the hot tub was used many times by all and the pool was great. Huge living room to fit us all in while still feeling spacious. Great communication with our fabulous hosts, house has everything, would highly recommend and would come again.

6 adults, 3 children, a baby and dogs stayed at The Byre for 4 nights over New Year and we all had an amazing time! The accommodation was lovely and the private heated pool was a huge hit with the kids!! Sue was really helpful and responsive from the point of booking and throughout the stay. We will definitely be back!

Incredible building, massive rooms and very cleanly presented. Hot tub was great and there were extra towels available to use. One of the rooms listed on Airbnb as a twin room was actually a bunk bed room - you can see this on the floor plan image. It was “suitable for adults” however being 5”9 we did not feel safe using the top bunk as the mattresses weren’t the best and the wooden edge flexed easily. The outdoor pool was heated, however this was still quite cold and couldn’t be in for much more than 15mins - similarly to the indoor pool we hired one afternoon. But the indoor pool area was fantastic, loved the led lighting all around the room and the heated loungers were brilliant. Plenty of toilets & shower rooms which were pristine. Surrounding area was beautiful, loved seeing the field of cows every morning. A couple of loose dogs wandered around unattended during our stay - so may not be ideal for visitors bringing reactive dogs to stay.

Lovely place to stay. Clean and well equipped. Easy walk into the city centre. Lisa provided lots of useful information prior to our stay and was easy to contact during the stay. Would definitely stay here again

A very good find and would definitely use again if coming to York. So handy for the station, the city centre, restaurants, parks and walks. The local environment was lively and quiet and even though close to a main road there was no traffic noise.

We had a fantastic stay at Paul’s Airbnb! Our family of four felt right at home — the space was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Paul was incredibly responsive making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay in the area!

Lovely riverside home. Short walk to the Rambles, the Minster, Roman Wall and more. Easy check-in and a very warm welcome! A wonderful experience for our group of 4 ladies. The view is AMAZING!

Superb location, just few steps from the city center. Two groceries in less than 5 minutes. Clean property. The host Karen was very easy to reach, responsive and friendly.

Great house. Best equipped house we have stayed in Very comfy beds. Lovely garden to sit out in. Very handy for walking into York. Could not really fault it. Lovely.

It is difficult to express how great the house and area was. Gaynor made us feel welcome and almost valued friends even though we actually only met her face to face on our last morning. Everything in the house worked and was geared to making our stay at the house enjoyable. We booked this house for our long weekend stay in York. We were 4 adults and 3 kids and the house was comfortable enough to accommodate all of us. Local shop and bus stop within few minutes walk from the house but we choose to walk the 25 minute into York central. There is Lidl or Asda 5 minute drive or 10 minute walk. The house was fully equipped. The driveway just about fits 2 LARGE cars!

Lara’s place was lovely and very easy to get too. On arrival we parked outside the property which was a bonus and was greeted with a lovely chocolate cake and a bottle of Prosecco. We loved sitting in the garden of a morning and an added bonus was the summer house! The easy walk into York took around 20 minutes along the river. Such a beautiful walk. We would definitely be staying here again. Thank you Lara

A stunning, impeccably clean property with beautiful finishing touches. The house was spacious and ideal for families or groups, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy. Located in a fantastic spot, it was within walking distance of all of York’s main attractions, which made it incredibly convenient—we could pop back throughout the day whenever needed. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

It was a lovely experience to stay at this property. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, everything is at walkable distance meanwhile there’s bus stop not far away. The host is very responsive. All instructions are clear and well structured. Will recommend.

Great location for visiting the city. Easy to find and onsite parking. The place was super clean and really felt like home. Will definitely remember the place for any future visits to York! 🙂

What an amazing place to stay. Cannot speak highly enough of the entire experience. Beautiful home, and a lovely peaceful location, but not too far from main roads for day trips out. Lovely country lanes to walk the dog and not too far to get a park and ride into York for the day. The accommodation was spotless, and so beautiful, and had all the amenities you needed. We loved sitting on the sofa, watching out over the wildlife in the field. We wished we had booked to stay for longer as soon as we walked in! Great communication with the hosts. We really can’t wait to come back. Can’t recommend this stay enough! Thank you!!

Ashleigh is a fantastic host very helpful and quick to respond. The house is in a great location about 15-20minutes easy walk into the center of York. It is very well equipped and has everything you need. 100% recommend stay.

Everything was perfect from facilities, cleanliness and location. Great to have car parking and as we were fortunate with the weather an outside space use in the evening. Everything you could need was provided. Just a 10 minute walk and you were in the centre and had weather not been good a bus stop right outside. Next time we are travelling up north we will definitely return. Thank you.
