The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old Machiya Townhouse. The Machiya Townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been remodeled into a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance while retaining its original structure, so that you can have a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed in the image of a "roji" (*a garden leading to a tea room). In addition, we have provided a sofa in the hallway so that you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time while looking at the illuminated tsubo garden. There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor: a Japanese-style room with 2 single beds and a Western-style room with 2 single beds. If there are 5 or more guests staying, we will lay futons in the Japanese-style room on the first floor and use it as a bedroom, though it is a bit of a hassle. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and dishes for simple cooking.

Our traditional Japanese-style tatami-mat rooms are equipped with floor heating and sunken kotatsu seating, so you and your family and friends can enjoy a cup of tea in a warm and cozy atmosphere while taking in the beautiful view of the Japanese garden. In autumn, the changing colors of the foliage will soothe your soul, and you and your family can enjoy a quiet, comfortable stay surrounded by the unique beauty of this century-old Kyoto machiya (traditional townhouse). Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Loft on top of a machiya

This is a unique loft space on top of a rare 3 floors machiya located on the central island of Kyoto. On the top floor of HASU former ryokan, we have designed an ensuite appartement with 2 rooms that are like 2 small houses. One room is located on the East side, and the other on the West side, they both have their own shower. The house was renovated in 2020 in order to offer an authentic experience in an ancient ryokan, with a contemporary comfort.

The house was an Ochaya (literally "tea house")before and we renovated it, which is an establishment where patrons are entertained by geisha. We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.
